Make all AI features optional, and opt-out by default.
For any features on Twitch which use AI, allow all creators to opt in or opt out of them individually, and set the default to Opt Out for all new AI features. We as creators should have the choice whether to use AI or not on our channels. If we do not want to use it at all, it's important for us to be able to have that choice, AND for us not to be opted in by default.

This is one of the most voted on pieces of feedback on this platform and it was ignored. The admission from the product officer that Twitch is AWARE people would not want to engage with this if it was opt in makes forcing it to be opt out incredibly dishonest and you know exactly what you're doing with this. Whatever makes your financials and Amazon happy and able to justify implementing this function that is CLEARLY the opposite of what was being asked for, I suppose - thanks for highlighting your creators and their viewers are secondary.

Ideally, you would use Twitch to train Gen ai, the second best option is to make it opt in instead of opt out.

Twitch, you knew nobody wanted this, you admitted so openly as if it would justify you ignoring the consent of your userbase. And yet you spit in the face of the creators and streamers that build you up and make you what you are with a machine literally built to steal and bastardize our content, our voices, our stories, and our very being. Openly admitting you hope to steal every last drop you can from those of us who might not notice the poison you slipped in our food. Having this nonsense on by default is insane idiotic behavior.

Hm, seems like listening to "the community" is out of the question now that Amazon controls Twitch's entire existence apparently. Oh well. It was good while it lasted. Plan B. Hope 'yall have it.

Opt-in by default is underhanded and nefarious. If no one would opt-in by their own volition by your Chief Product Officer's admission, then don't implement it?

After hearing that the setting was set to auto opt in because ~otherwise no one would opt in~ because you *know* that people don't want this, I have already passed up on two hype trains now because it would involve giving you money by buying bits/subs and I am considering breaking ALL of my streaks and not watching anymore at all because I can't support that. I am about to go and cancel my two current subscriptions as well and I may start closing streams anytime an ad starts to avoid even giving any ad revenue.

Automatically opting people into something that uses their FACE for AI training is insidious. What an insult to Twitch's userbase, and an utter violation of consent.

Please remove any and all use of AI, either for training, content generation, or anything else. You fostered a community of creators and now are introducing the single most offensive thing to legitimate creators. Furthermore, it's a violation of our copyrights and creates more demand for data centers that destroy the lives of our neighbors and community members who are forced to live near them and suffer the terrible environmental, economic, and health impacts they impose. Please do the right thing.

Gen AI steals from creators. What was the need to force it on us with the automatic Opt-In? What information has already been taken from us already? And the fact that it was admitted that "no one would opt-in" should've given you all a clue about how unpopular this would be.
We are already losing creators in the creative categories because of this decision. This is downright wrong and unacceptable.

The default should be opt out. I and many other creators and the artists who contributed their work to the channels do not want our work to be used in any AI training database. The artists deserve a say as well not just channel owner. Automatic opt in means that twitch just gets to decide to violate its userbase's work when its very clear this is not what we want.

This automatic opt-in is a breach of consent. I hope your soulless corporation burns for this.

Awful that twitch has this auto-opted in on creator channels. I do not support the use of this feature.

Mike Minton's statement ("Our Terms of Service already permit training of models") is misleading: the ToS do not specifically address GenAI training but only the IP sublicensing of the creator content, not of personal data (such as the face, voice, etc. of the streamer).
As a matter of facts, the Privacy Notice explicitly mentions GenAI training, but:
1) this clause is not GDPR-compliant as it doesn't state the legal basis for the GenAI training (and that Minton publicly admitted himself he has no clue of the actual scope nor purpose for this GenAI training); this means that any GenAI training on an EU data subject would be unlawful as it would be incompatible with the GDPR; moreover, regardless of the current status (enabled or not) of the "Training for Generative AI" toggle, any past GenAI training of content containing the face and/or the voice of the streamer constitutes a violation of the GDPR;
2) the Twitch Privacy Notice does only apply to the streamer themselves, and not any other person (such as guests in a Discord calls or people appearing on broadcasted videos, including IRL bystanders) whose voice or image would appear on the stream produced by the creator; any GenAI training on such content without their own prior explicit and informed consent (which cannot be covered by the Twitch Privacy Notice) would itself constitute a violation of the GDPR;
3) the very existence of this "Training for Generative AI" toggle, and the fact that is it enabled by default means that the streamer is (as long as this setting is enabled) legally responsible towards Twitch to ensure to collect the prior explicit and informed consent of every single person visible or heard on their stream to have their personal data exploited for GenAI training (along with its exact purpose); moreover, if any audio or visual assets (would it be a part of an overlay, an emote, a background picture, a video or video excerpt, would it be a single frame, a soundtrack, a video-game or any audio or visual asset of a video-game) explicitly forbids GenAI training and Amazon actually does perform GenAI training on this content, then, in addition to exposing the legal responsibility of Amazon towards the original asset's owner, it would also engage the legal liability of the streamer towards Twitch.
I would strongly and urgently recommend Twitch to review their position regarding GenAI training on their user's content as well as the wording of their ToS and Privacy Notice (and how these address personal data of third parties who are not Twitch account holders but may appear or be heard on broadcast content) with a legal team familiar with international (and more specifically: EU) regulations as well as with representatives (such as Twitch Ambassadors) familiar with the actual type of content broadcasted on Twitch.

We do not need AI!! We've gone centuries without it, we certainly have no use for it now. Please remove this feature. Creators do not wish to be used without their knowledge or consent. You should know better than this!!

absolutely ridiculous and predatory for Twitch to roll this out with little to no notice, and to automatically opt-in creators without telling them. it is an insane breach of privacy and trust towards the people that make YOUR money.

The techbro rxpe oligarchy is alive and well at Twitch HQ. Default OPT-IN is nonconsensual. You took away our consent and your excuse was ~so is everyone else~ wild to watch all our rights be eroded at the drop of a hat so all the corporations could compete to see how quickly they can fxck us all over. Whenever as a CHILD I ever said "they were doing it too" as an a excuse to bad behavior, I was asked "if they jumped off a cliff would you too?" and y'all yes why yes, lets all jump off the cliff with ai and force it upon people WE KNOW DO NOT WANT IT. Disgusting. Trust lost. Mask off predatory business practices as normal in 2026. I'll be looking into alternative streaming platforms.
