We don't want to live in the matrix or terminator worlds now.

There are many things wrong with AI. 1) How it is damaging the environment. 2) How it takes jobs from people 3) How many have been built to harm people. It has its place where it can be helpful (like medical apps) BUT twitch is not one of those places. Please let
the default be opted out.

Please please please stop promoting and using generative AI, Twitch 🙏 there are so many brilliant and creative people on here who would be more than happy to create graphics and things for Twitch, so please don’t insult them by using AI-generated content!

Stop forcing AI, not everyone wants to contribute to AI and the harm it is causing to the environment

All of this has seriously made me reconsider my time on Twitch thanks to Twitch's scummy and shady way of handling this. I do not want to give my brand away to this platform who has already called streamers of my size "dead weight" but is more than happy to steal from me since it benefits them to do so.
It would hurt to leave the ecosystem that's been built up over so many years, but it feels like Twitch is blackmailing us knowing how hard it is to figure out if we can move elsewhere and this level of disrespect does not sit well with me.

Cancelled every single one of my subs and asked my viewers to do the same on my channel. Whether or not I even continue to stream on this garbage platform remains to be seen - the reality is there are no good streaming options but somehow Twitch is doing a bang-up job of making the gambling site look like the good guys. That's a tall order and yet here we are - Twitch continuing to be absolute scum that belligerently disrespects its creators and viewers.

For those hoping Twitch will "do better" - let me save you some time...they will not. This is fundamentally how Twitch has operated for years - placating to the community how much they care while actively demonstrating the opposite. Remember how they raised sub prices MULTIPLE times in the past couple of years? And for what? The mobile app is still a travesty - features across mobile and desktop still remain inconsistent. There are lists of long-requested features and fixes requested by large portions of creators/viewers that have gone ignored. And yet they seem to have all the resources in the world to shove in this AI bull**** that nobody wanted. From AI-generated slop thumbnails for categories (INCLUDING THE ART CATEGORY), to AI stream summaries that should have clued everyone in that they were using AI to skim our streams and chat, to this blatant theft used for "training" their AI models.

I cannot wait for this AI bubble to burst and these tech bro weirdos look like the absolute dipsh*ts that they are. Exposed to the world. Until then, spare us your nonsense and stop trying to cram this useless, obnoxious trash in our faces at every turn.

Am I shocked Twitch opted everyone in automatically and has it set by default? No. Am I going to tolerate it? Also no.

Twitch: Fix this. Default for this feature should be "Opted Out" and require people to manually Opt In if they actually want it.

If Twitch thought this was attractive to anyone it would've been opt-in, so forcing this feature to be opt-out is an admission that twitch admin knows the twitch user base is deeply against it as well as being a direct violation of those wishes.

Not only should we be able to opt out, opting out means you cannot use any of our data per your new language for whatever you want.

I have to assume that the better part of Twitch's staff would ever want to implement this to the service and risk their relationship with the community, but they don't get to tell Overlord Bezos what to do. Amazon invested into its AI and they want to train it in any possible way to make a profit from their terrible decision. At the very least, they came out and told everybody the truth, and that says something, IMO. I low-key wouldn't doubt if they wanted to make sure everybody had a chance to opt-out as soon as possible.

I appreciate them being honest about it. I don't want any part of AI, myself, but until the bubble bursts, we're sadly going to see BS like this from the big corps for a while. I feel bad for people who have to work with AI as part of their job like this against their wishes, and I really hope people don't take this out too harshly on people caught in the middle, both staffers and creators, alike.
