Count paid Sub Points instead of subscribers for Partner Plus requirements
The introduction of the Partner Plus program and its opportunity for a 70/30 revenue split is definitely a welcomed feature among creators and has had many streamers excited. However, I would love to see the requirements get another look at, specifically in regards to paid Tier 2 and Tier 3 subs.
Currently, to qualify for the Partner Plus program, streamers must hit and maintain 350 Paid Subscribers (non-gifted, non-prime) for 3 months. While I understand the reasoning behind not having gifted or Prime subs count for the requirements, I do feel like non-gifted Tier 2 and Tier 3 subs should count additionally towards this criteria, since they are recurring but also yield higher revenue.
There is already an established system for Sub Points, where higher Tier subs count for further progress towards unlocking emote slots (Tier 2 = 2 sub points, and Tier 3 = 6 sub points). During events where streamers push towards unlocking new emote slots through Sub Points, many already established viewers often decide to upgrade their subscriptions in order to boost their support, and end up staying subscribed on a higher tier. In the same way, I think that many channels could find success in encouraging community members to upgrade their existing subs to a higher tier, if the viewers knew that their upgrade would also help the streamer towards the Partner Plus requirements.
This possible influx in upgraded subs would mean increased revenue all around, and thus I think that moving over to use (paid recurring) Subscriber Points rather than the (paid recurring) subscriber count for the Partner Plus requirements would be beneficial for both streamers and for Twitch, as well as give viewers a way to further support their favourite creators.
Based on the feedback provided here, we’re updating our approach to calculating the 350 paid subs (now Partner Plus points) needed for program qualification. Instead of each individual paid sub counting as one sub towards your goal, Tier 2 & 3 subscriptions will now accrue 2 and 6 Partner Plus points respectively. We’re making this change to better recognize the increased support offered by your community and help you meet your goal. This change will also be applied retroactively to July and August point totals. Please find all the details here.

A simple and fair change. At the moment it looks like the partner plus system was structured to prevent as many people as possible from qualifying, rather than being a genuine attempt to reward quality content creation

This sounds like a great idea! It'd both make things a lot fairer for the individual streamer, and give their communities a bigger incentive to subscribe at Tier 2 and Tier 3, knowing it helps support the streamer in more ways than just paying for exclusive emotes. If implemented correctly, it'd be a win-win for everyone, including Twitch itself!

I definitely agree with the idea above, its a very good way to integrate the Partner Plus program with the existing Sub Point system.

This is an excellent idea. It would be a great incentive for viewers to upgrade in the knowledge that they're helping streamers toward the goal. Twitch will undoubtedly gain too from the additional revenue from the extra numbers of higher tier subscriptions that this would inspire. Positive for streamers, viewers, and Twitch...Happy, happy, happy all around.

This would be a very welcome change to the Partner Plus Program and it's already intuitive! Higher tier subs have always counted towards more on Twitch as mentioned above.
I have always felt like there could be more benefits for Tier 2 and Tier 3 subscribers especially. Those who are able to support us above a Tier 1 sub would be happy to know their subscription goes that extra mile and a great way to do that would be to have it count more towards the Partner Plus Program. -
