Yep, after 4 years as twitch regular I have cancelled all payments. Won't be paying another cent until this decision is reversed.
Twitch was the only platform that respected user privacy, the only advantage it has over youtube etc.

Should be standard in 2025. Current system seems to be all AI agents that never fix any problems, completely incapable of providing even basic logical help
"There's a problem? Sorry nothing we can do! Have a nice day" Every single time

It also guarantees millions of legitimate viewers who dont have phones or dont want their privacy violated will be locked out of twitch.
Lock out millions of previously paying customers, what could go wrong...

Stop requiring phone numbers sitewide fullstop. Streamers already have the option to require it on their channels if they chose.
In some countries your phone number is directly linked to your home address, passport number, licence number etc. and due to large hacks of multiple major phone companies this data is now public for malicious actors to access.
Linking a phone number in these circumstances is a major personal security risk

Whatever change you just made recently, this is now so broken that is appearing immediately after I see an ad. Please fix. I suspect you added uBlock Origin to your banned extensions list: uBlock DOES NOT stop twitch ads, it never has

Yeah this is 100% broken. I DO NOT use adblock on twitch. I have the Ublock extension installed, but it is disabled on twitch. What is the thought process here? Am I supposed to turn off ad blocking ON THE ENTIRE INTERNET just to be able to watch twitch? That's not going to happen.

1. Install tampermonkey extension
2. Download the script "Fixing twitch" from Greasyfork
3. After you reload the page the info will be back below the stream but there may be a black gap above the stream. To get rid of this right click and inspect the page. Dont need to change anything but opening this gets rid of the top black space.An error occurred while saving the comment thedanofdans42

There has been a bug in the ui for at least a year where the stream category does not update and still shows the previous game category next to the name, but shows it correctly in the followed channels list. Fixing bugs like this should have a much higher priority than making negative changes to the ui which no one asked for and clearly no one wants

Before making this change did anyone stop to think the streamer info/bio, subcribe buttons and controls are still on the bottom of the screen? It is completely illogical to split up information like that. Please revert

Yes, this change is awful. That information you look at once per stream, putting it directly in the middle of your view distracts from seeing the stream. Please revert ASAP

This restriction is ridiculous. I mod for a channel, people whisper me and I can't respond.
There is no such thing as an "anonymous phone number". In my country a phone number is legally linked to your home address, date of birth, photo ID and enough other identifying information for someone to impersonate you online. It is a huge security risk to share your phone number with anyone online. I and millions of others will NEVER give twitch my private phone number.
Users can individually choose to block phone unverified accounts if they want. This restriction is idiotic, redundant and prevents mods doing their job, the epitome of which is being unable to respond to someone who messaged you first.
Change this.

Yep same thing still. Being affected by a bug that is over 2 years old and twitch support just pretends it doesn't exist, sends generic unhelpful cut and paste advice. If you reply and request actual help they get beligerant and close your ticket.

Exactly the same thing happened to me, now for a second time. Twitch support completely ignores the issue. It is account specific as other users on the PC are unaffected. Have verified and video recorded that it isn't the channels settings and that it occurs on EVERY channel except where I have VIP or MOD, even where I'm a paid sub.
Happened after an internet crash, but resetting IP, router, browser, or relogging in, changing browser, nothing fixes it. Login on a new browser proves account has been flagged.
Edit: It looks like it is now a 2-hour lockout.
Edit: It has happened again randomly with no internet crash to trigger it, and it has not come back after 2 hours

yep, same here. cancelled all payments. twitch customer support dont care at all about their customers. at this point i'm pretty certain its 99% badly coded AI agents that just send you round in circles.
maybe next year when their revenue starts dropping there will be someone there with more than 2 functional brain cells who is able to work out that alienating your loyal customers whose money pays your wages is not a recipe for financial success
