Только что чат нормально юзал, следующее сообщение, которое пытался отправить, выдало всплывающее окошко типа "Остался всего один шаг, чтобы отправить это сообщение" и попросило подтвердить телефон. Я обновил стрим, и в чате появилось сообщение "Чат только для верифицированных аккаунтов". Когда я проверил каждый стрим, внезапно на всех было такое ограничение.

Been a little over 2 months now and this force verification hasn't gone away. My account is ancient since JTV days. I don't have a phone and don't trust twitch with a mobile phone number. Hope this goes away eventually because I've just been using youtube live more and more instead.

In my case, this started yesterday (3/29/26) almost immediately after following a stream that I hadn't followed before. Wasn't sure why.

I don't provide phone numbers for privacy reasons... and I'd been mainly playing community games with the others for about five years or so now (though the account itself was created almost 10 years ago). I may post again if it somehow clears up, but I'm just leaving my comment here to indicate that yes, I was affected.

PS: It's more dangerous to have mobile payments enabled, it can be abused over the internet just by entering a phone number. I've encountered that.

I think the information about unverified accounts is targeted so that most people are verified.
SMS is safe to the point where your device is not infected with a virus and the attacker does not get your login details.
Example: Someone reads an SMS through an app, but this SMS is for the first time or some time, the attacker must first find out the details, but in any case, people must defend themselves not to install suspicious apps.

I've been having this issue off an on for about 2 Years now off and on - Some months you can manage to not have the issue for a week or two.

Support is no help it keeps telling me verify by phone -- I can't because there are no mobile towers for me to get the signal where my home is LandLine Authy does offer a voice call out to verify but twitch doesn't use that .

and Lets review anyway 2FA via SMS isn't really all that secure - how about letting us us a registered token generation

I didnt see any violations or bans in Twitchs "ban center".
Ive had this problem since July 21, 2025 (Look in a former post).

A workaround I've found with the help of a streamer I frequently watch:

If you're a moderator/VIP in a channel, you can chat through point redeems like the "highlight my message" redeem. It's better if you can actually work with the streamer to make a cheap point redemption that doesn't cause the highlighting on every message. And for some reason, the bit actions for gigantifying emotes, message effects and onscreen celebration work too as a mod/VIP (though obviously less sustainable). It's less than ideal to have to open the redeem menu for every message, but better than nothing I suppose.

Hope this helps anyone who has been going through this and suddenly can't chat in a community they've been in for a long time. Just don't harass streamers for the setup =/ Not their fault this website decided things work this way.

Yeah I've been blocked for more than 2 years now. It doesn't just go away by itself.

It's been 2 months.. I still haven't gotten out of this. Verification doesn't work. Reporting the problem seems impossible due to the automated responses. It's hopeless for me. Makes me think that twitch themselves does not care on handling these types of problems. I've been trying so hard to verify my number for MONTHS since 2024. All I get is an automated response not a detailed reply about why is my number not working nor stating what is the main cause of the problem. So is twitch really secure when they flagged these accounts? No. If they so called flagged these accounts due to the increasing amount of bots, why did they refuse to send a notification or announcement? This "solution" just escalates since a lot of bots are still raiding streamers.

I got hit by this yesterday. I sent their support a request to fix the issue. The reply i got seems automated and only lists steps how to verify phone number (despite my support-mail already noting that for some users that doesn't even work, i believe either a human or automated system picked some keywords from my support message and sent what they assumed was the closest resemblance to my problem).

Workarounds such as maintaining VIP status and activating the exception in moderation do not help. You can now send, but it doesn't arrive and you are automatically redirected to enter the number.

Same issue here...some acknowledgement on if this is a bug or not would be way better than canned support responses about the verification that doesn't even work either.
