1. total follow time instead of follow date

   ppl get triggered when they accidentally unfollow their favorite streamer because the precious date on their card, if when you click on someone's or your own name it just said "5y 23d Followed" and counted the total follow time not just the recent segment it would fix this

2. Live Chat Translation

   Live Chat translation. I understand there is a variety of languages out there that people speak and only certain channels will allow x amount of languages due to chat moderation and such. But it would be a cool feature for mods to be able to use or for chat users/streamers to be able to interact with the community more! Instead of just saying we don’t allow that language or so the user doesn’t have to translate it using a 3rd party app. Ik there is extensions you can use but would be nice feature for twitch to have. Amazon did purchase twitch so I don’t see why they couldn’t use their existing feature of chat translation already but through twitch.

3. Add emote reactions to individual chat messages, like Discord

   Often I see someone's chat message and I just want to react with an emoji/emote, but replying and tagging the user with just an emote isn't really the same and can get spammy, especially with multiple reactions from different people. This is DEEPLY ingrained in Discord culture, and seeing your message get several reactions is quite rewarding.

   Attaching the reaction to the chat message would increase engagement and decrease spam. It would also increase the value of unique channel emotes by adding new contexts for their use.

5. Backseating educational popup/warning

   Adding new features that punish backseating is shortsighted and ignores that many users simply don't know better yet and would behave differently if they knew. A non-punitive, private reminder popup about backseating should be issuable to individual chat users or to the entire chat as a reminder. To describe the rationale more fully, here's a breakdown of the problem and a proposed solution.

   Problems:

   1- Many users don't know what backseating is, or do not completely know every behavior the term covers. Many users simply engage the chat and only discover later that what they said constitutes a backseating problem. This user experience is already poor. Making matters worse, the term "backseating" is rarely explained the same way twice. Users attempting to learn in good faith what it means might learn different standards for what behaviors are unwanted ("don't give the streamer gameplay commands and don't spoil the game"), only to discover there was more to the definition at a later date. For instance, it often also includes foreshadowing ("i love this next boss," "good luck with this next part"), discussions of the lore and so-called "fun facts" ("fun fact, the creator wrote this part of the story after robbing a real bank"). At present, Twitch seems not to offer any agreed-upon or official definition of this behavior on their platform to educate users that this behavior is sometimes unwanted.

   2- Streamers' rules (chat popup, rules section, overlay prompts, etc.) about backseating are not always understood and often are ignored. For starters, if users don't know what backseating is, this term means nothing in a list of rules or reminders, meaning the behavior is just as likely to occur as ever. Users again are likely to engage the chat however they wish, only to learn later that it was a problem. Additionally, users might not even read rules where they currently appear anyway. Some streamers request in their rules that users type specific string of text in chat if they have read the rules. Anecdotally less than 1% compliance is common for new chatters, particularly if chatters arrive in a raid in a hurry to enter a raid message. Backseating behavior might be reduced for users that attend these rules, but more can be done to encourage acknowledgement.

   3- Streamers and their moderator teams routinely have negatively experiences due to pervasive backseating while playing popular or classic games. It visibly upsets many streamers because their boundaries are being ignored, stories they hoped to have genuine first-time reactions to are spoiled, and left unchecked, chat messages between users begin to build on each other as a contest to establish who knows the most. Sometimes the expectation backseaters alone is enough to dissuade streamers from streaming certain games. Twitch can do much, much more to protect its creators who are earning them engagement.

   4- Users who backseat in streams do not encounter helpful in-the-moment examples of alternative ways to interact with the streamer other than backseating. Said another way, if backseating is unwanted, specifically how should they act instead? Often backseaters did not intend to hurt anyone and approached a streamer playing a game they have fond memories of playing. Once reprimanded with current methods (callouts in chat by other users, callouts from the streamer, timeouts, or bans) backseaters typically feel unwelcome and leave without a good learning opportunity to engage the chat in a different way. They remain likely to repeat this pattern in other chats after they leave.

   Suggestion to address these problems, which addresses problems 1,2,3,4

   A- Create the ability to issue a reminder popup either for specific users or to all users in the chat, which requires them to acknowledge the content before they can participate in chat again. The reminder popup contains a Twitch-approved definition of backseating, examples, and alternative ways to chat. It should also contain optional links to video examples that load in a separate tab. This is likely to be more effective than requiring the streamer or mod team to use heavy-handed methods like timing a user out, banning them from chat, or verbally reprimanding them in front of the whole chat, which can negatively affect the stream engagement and community.

   B- If users are shown this warning in multiple different chats over a period longer than a week, a Twitch reminder should be sent by email to warn them of the possible consequences if they continue to ignore this warning. Also include links to sources that model more acceptable chat behavior. The goal isn't to lock accounts or encourage a ban-evasion, it is to educate about this important boundary that many streamers require to participate in their communities.

   Many streamers have their bots use emotes. Currently the streamer needs to gift their bot a subscription in order to do this. However, this seems wasteful and unnecessary since the bot isn't using any video bandwidth and therefore causes limited costs to Twitch.

   Twitch should give emote access to all known bots, and for bots that use custom accounts (such as MixItUp bot) allow the account holder to mark those accounts as a bot (with Twitch regulating this by only allowing those "bot" accounts to view chat and prevent those "bot" accounts viewing the actual video content of streams so that the functionality can't be abused to gain free access to streams and emotes).

8. Block Hype Chat

   Hype chat, like most twitch ideas is astonishingly awful. It will serve the singular purpose of enabling the most unwanted messages, by the most unwanted viewers to be completely unavoidable thereby handing them the elevated levels of attention and annoyance they have always desired. Please put in an option to block and not see these messages … ever. I understand Twitch wants and may even need to make more money but, who in their right mind would want to stare at messages by the most pathetic among us? I’m not saying to get rid of it. I’m just asking for a way to opt out of the inevitable insulting, racist, sexist, hateful etc messages that this awful idea will obviously attract.

11. Chat specifications only pop up the first time you join a chat. Is it possible to pop up with a key notification every time you enter the ch

    I hope that the chat box can jump out of the chat rules every time. In addition to avoiding inappropriate remarks at the first time, it can also prevent people from forgetting the rules of introducing their live hosts below.

12. Donating to users in the chat and shows in the chat

    Can we donate to the users in chat like we donate to the streamers ? for example when we click on any user we want to donate ( he activate his paypal or streamlabs in his twitch settings and already connected ) , just like user card next to " gift a sub " shows "donate" , click on donate button then shows the amount how much we can donate or make it specific , then donate to him and shows in chat that " user " has donated to " user " " amount " , also the donator can be anonymous if he don't want to reveal himself , for me it's a good idea cause we meet alot of good people in the chat who actually deserves more than sub :P.

13. Chat overlay instead of screen size adjustment

    Chat registers as an overlay (like YouTube) on the screen rather than making the stream a smaller size.
    When viewing YouTube streaming, I find myself leaving chat on as it doesn’t affect the overall stream viewing as much as on twitch where the viewing screen adjusts to smaller size to accommodate chat. I typically leave chat off with twitch.

15. Propose the ability to withhold hyperlinks.

    Recently, we have often heard of cases where hyperlinks have been used in malicious attacks, such as account hijacking as a result of accessing a hyperlink, or inducing a ban by reporting using a clip URL with a thumbnail.

    While we streamers must continue to gather information and work hard to ensure security and safe distribution, there is a limit to what we can do as individuals, and the tactics of the malicious are constantly evolving.

    Hyperlinks are also a factor to be aware of, as they often lead to unintended content, dissemination of inappropriate content, and other violations of the Terms of Use.

    Most of these cases can be prevented by setting up the comments with hyperlinks so that only the distributor and moderator can make such comments.
    However, this would also prevent a healthy streaming experience with listeners (even if you have created a clip, you can't comment on it).
    (e.g., you can't comment on a clip even if you've created it).

    Therefore, we propose to add a "temporarily hold hyperlinked comments" function to the moderation settings.
    This will protect the distribution and listeners from clips with dangerous URLs, inappropriate URLs, or inappropriate thumbnails.
    If they are not problematic, approve them and display them in their entirety.

    If possible, please also add a setting to show or hide thumbnails for clips as well.

16. Sort @user<tab> auto-completion response by most recent chatter

    When I'm actively in a conversation with @cherry123 it would be nice if "@ch<tab>" would auto-complete to that user instead of @cheeseball99 who hasn't sent a chat line in the past 2 hours.

    @user<tab> auto-completion should yield the most recent chatter with that matching username prefix.

    This handy thing would be easy to implement in the client: Instead of the auto-completion list actively getting sorted alphabetically, simply sort by moving each chatter to the top of the list upon each chat line they send.
