Hey all! Thanks for this thread. We recently deprecated anonymous Cheering after we discovered it was being abused. While we understand some viewers prefer not being recognized for Cheering, we made this change to ensure a safer experience for those who were negatively impacted.
We’ve also heard your concerns on what this means for the future of Bits. This deprecation is not related to any plans to limit Cheering with Bits on Twitch, and is solely focused on providing a safer experience for our community.

Not only this but the ability to set custom cheer amounts and tie them to special alerts adds countless unique elements to many streams. Not to mention concerns about what will happen to Twitch Extensions that rely on bits.
In this clip, at least 3 different bit amounts are being used, but one of the amounts is tied to 8 different alert variations. The ability to do things like this is so much fun and adds entertainment value to streams. People keep coming back because there's always something new to engage with.

Nothing else that Twitch currently has (that is tied to actual money) allows for this level of creativity & interaction with a very low barrier to entry. I can set a custom fun alert for 1 bit for example VS the lowest "Super Cheer"/Cheer Coin amount that I have seen is $1.00 and no customization options for amounts in between.
Please at least give creators the option.

Please make this a toggle. Give creators the power and choice to either have anonymous cheering on or off. This decision is hurting us. If it's due to abuse, then will this eventually extend to removing the ability to gift subs anonymously as well? Please reconsider. There are plenty of people who don't want recognition for their generosity. Let creators decide how they want to run their broadcasts.
