[Feature] Featured Clips
Featured Clips help you show up on new and existing Twitch discovery spaces in ways that best represent you and your community. We recently shared our plans (https://blog.twitch.tv/en/2023/07/08/everything-we-announced-at-twitchcon-paris/) to launch the upcoming mobile Discovery Feed. As we work towards building new onsite discovery tools like the Discovery Feed, we want to give you more control over which Clips are shown to viewers on Twitch with Featured Clips.
We're already working on improvements to Featured Clips, including:
- Allowing you to opt-in to automatically featuring Clips created by you or your editors.
- Giving Featured Clips access to Mods and other trusted members of your community.
- Adding the ability to feature Clips from the Clip creation flow, the Clip editor, and on mobile.
- Adding more Featured Clips analytics.
We'd love to hear your feedback and suggestions on how to improve this feature.

Please give the option of removing this "feature". I've already unfollowed two streamers to get rid of the section. I will be ruthless with any other streamer that inflicts this "feature" on me. Once this "feature" has fixed then I'll follow them again.

Get rid of this.

Figured out how to get rid of the 'brilliant' featured clips section - just unfollowed everyone who had clips. Problem solved.

Please allow unfeaturing clips from the Clip Viewing Surfaces since Mods do not have access to the channel's Clips Manager

I love this feature. I think it is amazing. I wish we had more than 20 featured clips sometimes, but this is wonderful and we are really excited for the new improvements you're already working on.

acornz,
At the top right of "Clips of my Channel" check the filter is not "Recommended" and is "All"
Clips made on the fly without title, editing, and hitting publish (such as !clip commands, or simply pressing clip, etc) have never shown up for me under the Recommended filter. And its the default filter you'll have to change every time you go to the clips list.

I love this feature, there's one thing that I'm having frustration over or that I can't figure out:
Can I not feature Clips I've Created? I often clip stuff of my channel on the fly and most of it doesn't show up in the Clips of My Channel.

Don't worry everyone, they've now moved it down below the live channels...only to repeat their mistake by putting the new stories feature in its place. You couldn't make it up.

Please, please consider not having Featured Clips Only be switched on by default when you go to a channel's clips page - by all means have featured clips at the top, but the filtering to ONLY see those by default is so unhelpful for discoverability.

First off, all the profanity on here is sad. its a new feature, and its trying out its new legs. yes if you don't like it; say so, but you don't need to be so angry about it...
That said, I like the Idea of Featured Clips, but I feel like a very crucial step was missed: Interaction.
Twitch is all about interaction... that's why people come here. for the chat, for the emotes, for the point redemptions... clips are missing all of that.
I suggest you add a comment section, as well as a reaction option (utilizing a few basic twitch emotes, but also allowing followers/subscribers to use the channel's emotes that they have access to.)
Also, I believe we need to give a little more credit to the Clippers themselves. a place on our profiles to not only see our clips, but also to see the clips we've made for other channels would be great. (lets be honest, some people are better at capturing some great moments than others, and maybe we want to see what else THEY'VE clipped.)
And finally, in the vein of rewarding clippers and engagement, I feel like we should find a way to acknowledge clippers (like giving them a badge for having a clip of theirs that was featured on another channel have X number of views/reactions. so the badge can be upgraded based on the best clip they've clipped), and also maybe some channel points for people who watch, react, and/or comment on clips/highlights/VoDs.
I might even go as far as rewarding well received clippers with bits or something, spread a bit of that wealth.
(and for monetization (for you, the streamer AND the clipper) I'd suggest "Clip Display Ads" nothing that would interrupt the clip experience, but just enough banners here and there to make it worth it to everyone involved.)

Please allow mobile users to hide this section altogether. I really only come to twitch to watch live streams, and having clips at the top not only gets in the way of that, but makes me reconsider opening the mobile app altogether. If that's somehow not an option, please let me hide clips or not allow certain creators to not feature at the top of mobile app.

Would love it if you guys could put a " feature clips button " in the video producer section so that creators can put clips made from vods after the stream into the featured section, I have a bunch of clips in my video producer but I can't put them in the featured section, there's currently no way to do so...

Can you add an option to oup out of this feature. When I open the app I want to see my followed live channels.
I do not want to see my followed categories on mobile, I do not want to see clips of any streamer on mobile.
I just want to watch the streams I opened the app for. -

Cons:
- hate seeing featured clips as the first thing i see opening the mobile app. Take up way too much space. Why should i have to scroll down to see who is live.- the same featured clips stay up for what seems like a week. Looking at the same still image every time i open the app is obnoxious.
- auto sorting to featured clips on the clips page makes it more difficult to just see the top viewed clips from the past day or week.
Need
- an option to hide featured posts from certain creators
- an option to turn off featured clips altogether
- for the clips to appear below the list of live channelsHaving a clips section or feed is a good idea. A single interface to scroll through the featured clips of followed channels or a category. It needs to be its own directory though and not something obstructing me from seeing live channels.

Adding my sentiment, not a fan of this large featured section when I open the mobile app. It takes up too much space, features the same clip repeatedly from a viewer I watched and followed maybe once to be nice, and it distracts from showing me my live followed channels which is what brings me to twitch in the first place. Please move this feature much lower in the fold, or allow me the ability to turn it off / sort. Thanks!

I literally hate the featured clip section so much. I’m tired of unfollowing streamers who appear in that section just to get rid of it. Please move it or allow us to customize the Home Screen. Maybe with a favourites tab instead of this dumb section. Just let me watch my STREAMS in peace! If I wanna watch clips ill go to YouTube or TikTok dang

Please @Twitch.tv can you remove or have the "Featured Clips" in their own personal space. I don't like that it is first thing front and center and also days pass and the same clip is still up. Also when I mod for female streamers they are in awkward poses and keeping that "featured" clip up longer than 1 day makes for awkward conversation with friends when I hop back on to watch other streamers as well 😂

Twitch has chosen to push short form engagement.
This doesn't account for:
1) the only people that can do featured clips are the streamer or editors. The editor has to be manually assigned by the streamer. This is a problem because most streamers are not that active in selecting and choosing their featured clips.
You're trying to push engagement with featured clips by making it so that it's the first thing that shows up when you click clips.
Right now the section shows nothing unless they do that.
It's clearly a feature made to try and get people to use featured clips. Otherwise, nothing shows.
But you're relying on the streamer or editor to pick. They don't.
Previously, popular clips were recent, relevant, and chosen for free (by thousands). Now, it requires manual labor.
Good job.
Interesting clips select themselves.
If you're going to do this feature, make it so that it's the top viewed, most recent 24-hour clips. As the default.
