[Feature] Featured Clips
Featured Clips help you show up on new and existing Twitch discovery spaces in ways that best represent you and your community. We recently shared our plans (https://blog.twitch.tv/en/2023/07/08/everything-we-announced-at-twitchcon-paris/) to launch the upcoming mobile Discovery Feed. As we work towards building new onsite discovery tools like the Discovery Feed, we want to give you more control over which Clips are shown to viewers on Twitch with Featured Clips.
We're already working on improvements to Featured Clips, including:
- Allowing you to opt-in to automatically featuring Clips created by you or your editors.
- Giving Featured Clips access to Mods and other trusted members of your community.
- Adding the ability to feature Clips from the Clip creation flow, the Clip editor, and on mobile.
- Adding more Featured Clips analytics.
We'd love to hear your feedback and suggestions on how to improve this feature.

Featured clips dominate categories with great numbers, but often lack the appeal which would warrant such a prominent position. A non-featured clip is so far buried down the category's clip page it's less likely users will navigate that far down to investigate.
Considering featured clips have no limit on creation it makes sense that creators craving discoverability are featuring every clip they can to take advantage of a propped up spot for no more effort than a check box click.
Please keep featured clips limited to creator pages and always sort category clip pages by view count (filtered by date range i.e. 24hrs, 7 days, etc.)

I would LOVE for there to be a way to have like 5 featured clips that are the ones played with someone has their shoutouts to feature a streamer. When I get shoutouts the random clips that play are not ones I would prefer and often do not truly represent my stream and content. Allowing us to pick which ones are shown gives us, as the content creators, control over how we are represented.

The featured clips feature has actually made discoverability worse. Much worse. As it trades quantity for quality, and bigger streamers that just want it to work like it worked before just feature everything, and it drowns out all other streamers.
How I'd fix it:
- Clips on the streamers own channel show featured before non-featured
- Clips on the game category don't show at all unless there are no live streams in that category, and only show clips from streamers who have streamed the content the longest and featured a clip, over those who have streamed it once and never again. -

Still not fixed, unbelievable.

I remember this being a toggle, don't understand why it was removed. As of now, I have to tap middle mouse button and go down to insta scroll past hundreds of sub-10 view clips to get to the popular section, it's ridiculous. Everytime a developer hosts a big event or panel, all the relevant highlights with dozens of thousands of views are nowhere to be seen upon loading the directory.

Please remove featured clips from game categories. Featured clips sections are fine for individual channels but make game categories completely unusable. Every streamer marks all their clips as featured to try and increase their discoverability in a game category and it ends up making the featured clips section bloated with dead clip with no toggle to remove them as a viewer.
If twitch is looking to save money on bandwidth, we need an option to disable/remove featured clips as a viewer. Currently to get to popular clips, viewers have to scroll past thousands of featured clips which all have thumbnails that waste bandwidth.
Please save us from this waste of bandwidth feature that no one asked for.

I have no interest on seeing featured clips. When i go to a game's clip page i want to see popular clips, because if lots of people have viewed them they are probably more entertaining than some random 10 view clip that a streamer highlighted.
If this feature must be kept, add an option to disable it, or have only a couple of rows of featured clips before showing the popular clips.
Currently for popular games it just keeps showing more and more featured clips and never displays the popular clips. I have scrolled long enough for it to crash my browser before getting to popular clips.
Until this change is made the clips page is functionally useless.

I'll be honest, I don't like it. I think that it's a good idea that hasn't been implemented well. When going to a clip catagory you have to scroll down a lot (especially if it's a big game).
I wish that you could turn it on and off cliënt side. Because this makes creating (popular) clips kind of pointless if they're a nightmare to find. -

I'm really frustrated with the recent changes to Twitch clips. It's become increasingly difficult to find clips of the specific streamers I'm interested in.
The decision to prioritize featured clips over sorting by views has made it challenging to discover popular content, as it feels like the platform is pushing a select group of streamers. It used to be so easy to stumble upon popular and entertaining clips, but now it seems like they're overshadowed by the content from only the featured streamers. This shift not only hinders my ability to find the content I enjoy but also takes away the excitement of stumbling upon the most popular and talked-about clips on the platform.

This ruins clips. Now when i go to a game's page and view top clips of all time i only get garbage clips from no name streamers rather than the actual top clips of all time. If someone wants to feature clips on their own page then fine but it shouldn't favour them on the game's clip page.

Because of this "feature," I can longer find the most popular clips of game I'm interested in, only the featured ones. This makes using twitch to find clips pointless to me. Please allow the ability to turn off featured clips.

Let me provide better feedback. Imagine you are being targeted by the owner of the clip because a falling out happened. They can now feature it and track someone's account. They will always be tied to it because the clip can only be deleted/edited by someone with the editing priv.
PLEASE ALLOW THE ABILITY TO REMOVE YOUR NAME AS THE ONE THAT CLIPPED IT. ALLOW IT TO THEN DEFAULT TO THE CHANNEL OWNER, MODERATOR, AND/OR CLIP EDITOR.
I no longer wish to be associated with a team of streamers because they have spread misinformation about me, committed libel/slander against me, and stalked my statuses on Discord, etc. Due to their actions, aggression, passive aggression, and off platform behaviors like victim shaming, I am traumatized.
I tried to contact them directly but they are refusing to remove it. I do NOT consent to having my name associated with them in any way. I do not wish to affect their channel in any way. I just want to be distanced and made independent of them entirely.
I have blocked and banned these people but they will forever be able to track me/my username because of 2 clips I made of their channel when we were still civil. Not to mention my name is mentioned prominently in another clip and I do not consent to that either.
I am an affiliate and do not want to have to start over and regain affiliate status. I should not have to create a new account because someone bullied me out of it. That is unfair to my viewers, my community, and me the streamer!
In the meantime, what do you propose I do? I have not received any kind of response or acknowledgement of my very real issue and safety concern that has done nothing but cause me emotional distress.
Not mad just.... desperate at this point! I can't show it, but I am in tears writing this because I am powerless. PLEASE respond. Something. Anything. Help me. PS: No, the authorities cannot assist. No, I cannot afford a lawyer. I am going to be cyberbullied because I clipped a minute of content containing the cursed Pokemon Fusion of Jinx and Wailord. Internally screaming here!

Please give the option of removing this "feature". I've already unfollowed two streamers to get rid of the section. I will be ruthless with any other streamer that inflicts this "feature" on me. Once this "feature" has fixed then I'll follow them again.

Figured out how to get rid of the 'brilliant' featured clips section - just unfollowed everyone who had clips. Problem solved.

Please allow unfeaturing clips from the Clip Viewing Surfaces since Mods do not have access to the channel's Clips Manager

I love this feature. I think it is amazing. I wish we had more than 20 featured clips sometimes, but this is wonderful and we are really excited for the new improvements you're already working on.

acornz,
At the top right of "Clips of my Channel" check the filter is not "Recommended" and is "All"
Clips made on the fly without title, editing, and hitting publish (such as !clip commands, or simply pressing clip, etc) have never shown up for me under the Recommended filter. And its the default filter you'll have to change every time you go to the clips list.
