I would really love to see example #2's bug fixed! It makes looking for older clips I've done really difficult.

Nov 2024 - STILL need to go into a source VOD, change the category, then generate the clip, then change the category on the source VOD back to the original game if more than one game was played in the original broadcast.

But wait, there's more! After changing the category of the source VOD to the correct game and starting to generate the clip, the game shows correct on the clip preview page, but when you click to publish the clip reverts the game category back to the originally selected game from the source VOD.

new clip editor PLUS tiktok-esque short feed should push clips relevant to their game category... how will it do this if every second clip is incorrectly categorised?

I'll echo Mario's comment below. This should definitely be a priority with the new clips editor (and part of an ongoing overhaul of the clips system!) Live often means a Just Chatting moment is captured in a game category - and for everyone involved, being able to label it correctly is a worthwhile QOL update.

To further add to this, the new clip manager page allows you to fully edit clips you had made, the problem is that from VODs still prioritizes the very first category.

What's interesting now is that while editing a clip again and overwriting the original, the page of you editing says the correct category, but finishing the new edited clip shows the incorrect one again.

Please fix now that you're working on the new clip manager feature.

How this hasn't been added yet is quite confusing. If Twitch can automatically make chapters of different game categories in a VOD, why doesn't a clip get that same Category data if clipped from the appropriate location (not mid-switch of a category)?

I was just about to post a request for this myself. My Bum Simulator clips are being labelled as Arena Breakout: Infinite and that's...problematic, to say the least, lol.

definitely need this! i'm in the habit of just streaming for a good several hours, multiple games in a stream, and its frustrating when i have clips that are of the wrong game because it automatically tags it as the first game of the stream.

A streamer can set different games during a live. If a clip is created offline, it takes the category that was defined at the start of the live. We really need an option to change the category of the clip. Alternatively, the clip should take the category that corresponds to the timecode.

This is even more important now with the release of the updated Feed feature on the Twitch app! I assume having the right category for clips will help show the right clips to the right people.

I just started streaming. It is very frustrating, making several clips and all of them showing a different category that I also streamed in that same sitting. Please let us change the category afterwards.

I would love this to be added expeditiously, as it makes creating clips after a stream is complete extremely inconsistent, especially if you play multiple games per stream (which is pretty common)

Definitely really need this. Switching games mid-stream or otherwise starting with the wrong settings often slaps my clips on the wrong game title.

@talidagam if you are making new clips of a past stream so they are category you want, then you can just change the category of the vod each time before making each clip. dont need to split the vod up in highlights

This would be useful for fixing clips not being in the right category. Currently I have to make a highlight, separate the two games that played and then make a clip where that was in the original. But now that they're two separated highlights the time stamp to find the clip spot is a different timestamp than it was if it was all in the original single VOD.

please make an option to edit category for clips!!!! none of mine are correct!

@dengelchill And that's assuming that the VOD in question hasn't been auto deleted yet. Those vanish pretty quick. If it's gone then you just can't do anything under the current system.
