1. Video jumps backward when quality is "Auto"

   I’m working on an SPA where one can watch VODs in sync, as if it was live.

   I noticed something weird on several videos: when started at a late position on Auto quality, the videos plays normally for a few seconds, then goes backward exactly when the quality is automatically changed.
   This does not happen by switching qualities manually.

   This is not easy to reproduce, as you need to be in Auto quality AND have the first selected quality to be low (e.g. 360p).

   Here are the steps I took with relative success to reproduce the issue:

   1. Go to this video : https://www.twitch.tv/videos/999197520?t=8h51m36s
   2. Switch to a low quality (360p)
   3. Let the video run for a few seconds
   4. Switch to auto quality and refresh
   5. If you’re lucky, you should be in Auto quality with 360p selected. If you have “Source” quality, go back to step 2
   6. Around 8:51:51, the video should have jumped backward of a few minutes (but the timecode hasn’t). This happen exactly at the moment where the video switches quality.

   My guess is that it is due to the long video and a somewhat wrong video encoding from the streamer…
   I found a work-around by forcing a non-Auto quality in my SPA, but this removes the advantages of the Auto quality mode…

2. Autoplay Bug

   I am posting this to "Bugs", but it also fits into the "Accessibility" category.

   There is a bug where every page of a given streamer's channel automatically autoplays mostly unrelated videos at what is usually maximum volume. Random channels will play behind/ above the UI on the page for selecting previous VODs. It will autoplay, even if I previously had the tab open and already muted and paused the video at the top. It will autoplay if I am scrolled all the way to the bottom of a streamer's archive, so that I have to scroll all the way back up to do it again. It will autoplay even if I am browsing other tabs.

   I have to imagine this is a bug, because it makes navigating and enjoying Twitch incredibly difficult, tiring, and painful for a disabled person like me.

   These are videos which I do not want to watch and did not click on. These are videos originally recorded at wildly varying volumes. A universal, sitewide "autoplay suggestions" bug is not welcome or needed. It makes Twitch.tv worse, on what feels like every page.

3. Cannot enter a quote mark into video description

   Typing a single quote [ ' ] into the video description field for a highlight gets transformed into the HTML entity ' - which wouldn't be a problem if that was what got spat out on the VOD page, but it isn't, we see the raw escaped entity in the description.

   This is a pretty big problem for languages that use that mark as punctuation, like, y'know, English. The most commonly spoken language in the world and also the language we are writing in right now.

4. Buttons on the video player will occasionally not work and do nothing

   Description: Sometimes the buttons on the player, pause, mute, etc. are unable to be clicked on.

   I've noticed this problem mainly while having a stream playing in another tab and tabbing back into it. e.g. have multiple streams open for events/tournaments. Have had it happen on multiple PC's

   When this occurs I can still use 'Space' to pause the stream but I have to refresh the page to use the other buttons.

   Repro: I'm not sure on exact repro steps, just keep a stream open in another tab, muted and check on it every now and then
   Conditions: I'm using chrome on a PC, with both BTTV and FFZ extensions enabled.

5. "Browser not supported" rate limiting - Unable to clip or highlight VODs - When using Firefox and Chrome

   When this occurs and I try logging out and logging in again I get stuck on the login screen to the message "Browser not supported" on both Firefox and Google Chrome (which are both supported browsers) until waiting another day or so to login again. Staying logged in on the same session I get restricted use of the site and is unable to create new clips or highlight VODs until waiting a certain period of time.

   There is something severely wrong with Twitch website causing this to occur. I can only guess that this is a rate limiting feature that occurs after clipping and highlighting VODs too often within a certain period of time.

   I help several streamers as an editor and when I get rate limited I'm unable to highlight VODs and have to wait it out. It's getting really tedious to do any work and I would really appreciate if developers could look into this and perform some sort permanent fix.

   If it is rate limiting, or some sort of botting protection, can I please please suggest that you allow editors more lenience to reduce the risk of getting rate limited? When I clip and jump into the highlighter for 5 different streamers this is NOT because I'm abusing the server or service but because I'm a dedicated power user doing work effectively on the Twitch website.

6. Clips sometimes get stuck paused when editing.

   Eg: I click the clip button while watching a live or previous broadcast
   I reach the clip editor. I leave the default clip length and click around the little yellow bar in the clip video itself. At some point I can no longer un-pause the clip and instead have to generate a NEW clip and start all over. If it helps I use "K" on the keyboard to pause/un-pause

7. Noticeable Audio Glitch Near End of Highlight Segments

   There seems to be a very noticeable audio glitch at the end of Highlight Segments. The audio cuts off for a very quick moment. All of my Highlights have this issue. This issue occurs even for each Segment when there are multiple Segments in a Highlight. Please fix, thank you.

8. Multiple user-facing bugs: Dashboard says markdown is supported, description is shown without markdown to users.

   The dashboard tells me that markdown is supported for a VOD, and when I type in a plain text URL into the description the editor silently converts it to hyperlink markdown when I save the changes to the description.

   When I view the video, the description contains raw markdown, and markdown such as double-space for line breaks is ignored, as well as the automatically-generated URL markdown. It looks REALLY bad to users, and markdown definitely is NOT supported despite what the portal is telling me.

   Since markdown does not appear to be supported, you should also not force plaintext URLs in descriptions to be converted to markdown.

9. posting video highlights some video clips is missing

   everytime i edit my videos on highlights and post it, some of the video clips is missing and just jump to the end. Please fix this thank you twitch developers

10. Bug when VOD player resets your viewing spot

    Problem: When you are watching the VOD and your internet gets disconnected (error #2000) the VOD player gives you a button "Click here to reload the player"
    (note: the player has to finish playing the buffered content before throwing the error)

    Expected result: after establishing internet connection user is pressing the button and continues watching the VOD in the same spot (or at least close to) where he lost connection
    Actual result: after establishing internet connection user is pressing the button and VOD starts playing from the beginning.

    This gets extremely annoying when you watch 10 hour VODs and have no clue at which point it got reset.

12. LIVE/VOD pausing and time scrolling in VODS

    MOBILE TWITCH APP, maybe even iPhone only(?)

    • MAKE TWITCH GUI/OVERLAY HIDEABLE WHILE PAUSED:
      Watching both live and VODS i regularly pause the video to zoom in on f.ex. Text or a detail, but i cant see anything cause the GUI is blocking it.
      I feel like this is a simple feature to add, it works like it should when video/stream is playing. It would add a nice upgrade in viewer experience on mobile.

    • TIME SCROLLING THROUGH VODS:
      Time scrolling, when you drag the purple dot to a specific time in a vod, often bugs completely out and could even end up restarting the VOD. Could you look into this too, just very annoying and has been this way forever.

    this is a huge bug on browser

    to repeat
    pick a vod with a playlist longer than longer than 13
    ex. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2001682434?collection=ARlNMWkDlxdJFw

    just try to pick the last one on the list from the drop menu on top corner of the player
    it will select the time bar or volume slider instead of playing the last vod on the list

    The volume control when using Chrome for the twitch web application has a bug with what % volume you can select. Super minor, but specific numbers can not be selected. 8% 25% 42% 58% 75%, small bug fix for someone

15. Remove automatic mute of last 2 seconds of highlight clips

    Twitch, please stop automatically muting the last 2 seconds of each clip in the highlight tool. This is absurd, I have to make all clips longer so the audio isn't cut off at the end of the important part of the clip that I'm making, which makes the clips very awkward by ending with an extra section of unimportant content.

16. Portrait Clips for non-standard Aspect Ratios are Stretched

    Currently, portrait/vertical clips using the Stacked layout are stretching the content if the source isn't 16:9.

    When editing the layout it will appear correctly, but the end result once rendered will be stretched.

    For example, a 21:9 "ultrawide" source stream will result in clips that end up with both the facecam and the game being horizontally squished.

17. VODs Pages not loading more VODs.

    It actually happens when you're signed in to Twitch.tv. It doesn't matter which browser it is. The VODs pages are not loading more VODs in every category. It only shows 30 VODS in each category.

20. Unpublished VODs Being Accessible in Incognito Mode

    Dear Twitch Support,

    I've discovered a potential privacy issue where unpublished VODs are accessible through Incognito mode (or when logged out) by directly accessing the URL: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/{id}.

    I encountered a few instances where VODs, presumably unpublished by their creators (as indicated by deactivated clips and their absence in the "Past Broadcasts" section), were still accessible. It's important to note that deleted VODs do not present this issue; attempting to access a deleted VOD redirects to the "time machine" page, as expected.

    This situation suggests that unpublished VODs are not being fully restricted from public access under certain conditions. For privacy and content control reasons, it would be ideal for unpublished VODs to be inaccessible in all scenarios, including when users are not logged in or are using Incognito mode.
