The new viewer experience Your new addition that tells viewers that if they are on twitch.tv they need to turn off their adblocker is going to drive viewers away. It is broken. It doesn't work. I will tell you that again... because, I turn off my adblocker and still get that message. I can see people not watching us and going to facebook or that other microsoft streamer ap... that I don't like. Please remove it.

Stop adblocker complaint in chain It is your right to complain about adblockers and tier-system that remove ads, but I think that you just check if the user has one and not if the tier-system is running or not. So every X time you show your complaint and block the stream and that is painfull, especially if the user took the time to remove tier-system ad blockers.

I run Mid-rolls, but feel punished because other streams don't.. what am I doing wrong? Like the header says, I want to avoid pre-roll ads, so I try my best to run a 60 sec every hr.. but when I do I receive a lot of grief about how other streams don't run mid-rolls...
What is Twitch doing to support those who attempt to do this right? As I understand Mid-rolls are a much better way to deliver ad's.

Dynamic time ads blocks I'm not a content creator myself, but I thought of an idea that may help with ads experience after watching the Twitch Townhall.
From time to time, content creators needs to step away from their chairs and sometimes they do not know how long they need to step away for. Instead of having a fixed bank amount of ad blocks, allow content creators have a dynamic way to play ads. It would work like this:
- Creator needs to step away from the computer
- Creator clicks on (Start adblock) button
- Creator can take 30 seconds to get food or 3 minutes…

custom ads for twitch partner I think it would be cool if partners got to make a custom 15 second and that plays every stream to promote merch or anything they want

Allow Twitch Affiliates to earn more money from ads Only Twitch is benefiting from ads being played on smaller channels of Twitch Affiliates, while Twitch Partners earn more from ads. Make it fair.

Fix Pre-roll Ads These are some ideas to improve the experience of the user when trying to find new channels to watch.
Disable pre-roll ads for streamers with few viewers. Right now the user is actively punished for switching channels and this actively harms the discoverability on the platform.
Add a cool down since the last ad was played before a pre-roll can be triggered again. A value as little as 5-10 minutes could greatly improve the experience.
When running ads not triggered by the streamer it should continue showing the stream (eg. picture in picture with the stream audio muted). Right now…

Disable Ads? I wish there was a option for affiliates and Partners alike to turn off preroll ads, a lot of us especially the smaller streamers hate that this is a thing and having a option to turn it off would make a lot of our streams a lot better. The reason why I say a toggle feature is because some streamers have a living from this so its not fair for them not to have it but the smaller streamers we dont like it and it drives away a lot from us
Thank you for reading this and taking this into…

Prerolls Audience Loss vs Self Run Midrolls Data Ads have an impact on viewer retention. When someone new comes to a stream, an ad can discourage them from waiting - and simply close the tab. That hinders growth. However, self-run midrolls (to disable prerolls) may have the same effect...
If we can see the impact that running a dreaded midroll can have on our potential to bring in new viewers - the friction against running ads may be lessened.
So my question: When will there be information on our dashboard analytics on how many people leave during a preroll versus midroll?

ads built into streaming schedule Allow streamers to opt-in for 3min~5min scheduled ad session every hour or two. Could be used as a stretching time for all of us (viewers + streamers).

Remove ads entirely from the moderator page. They do more harm than good, when I'm trying to moderate. Especially during technical difficulties and issues with the stream staying connected.
I have to sit through 10-30s of ads every time they get the stream back up, to help diagnose or otherwise let them know what could be the issue. Or having to get the info a second time from them because I didn't hear them when they first came back.
Simply put, they're useless on the mod page, and in some cases, could potentially make the user experience worse because of the lack of communication between streamer and…7 votes -

Create a more sophisticated ad-timing algorithm Ad timing (when in a broadcast an ad is shown, plus for how long or for how many ads) is a largely "invisible" skill in traditional media, but an important one for managing the flow of content delivery that almost no streamers have. Twitch broadcasters lack dedicated producers for this purpose, and the current algorithms that automatically deliver ads account for at most the time since the last ads a user watched. This leads to ad delivery that often interrupts streams very badly.
Twitch should develop more sophisticated algorithms that deliver ads at the least intrusive moments in streams. For…1 vote -
ads I've noticed when some ads play they take over the screen and the stream is moved to be above the chat until the ad ends. I think this should be reversed. Ads should take up that space above chat and then disappear; or, perhaps, they appear in the corner of the stream. If this were done, of course, ads would likely have be silent -- and I doubt any user would be against that.
Whatever the case, ads taking up the entirety of a livestream is just not acceptable and advertisers/Twitch need to figure out a better way to have…1 vote
