Small creators ads
Small creators have little to no opportunity to gain from ads because there simply aren't the viewers to gain anything monetarily.
A fix would be to provide a greater incentive (more ad free time/bits but also the ability to opt out entirely unless the view count crosses a certain threshold e.g. 100+ viewers.
Ads may be what keeps twitch free but there are plenty of 24 hour streams that constantly run on twitch because people come to twitch for the non-TV experience. Twitch threatens itself by changing into a cable-like experience

HI IM ASPATHORR-TTV
Im disabled and love the fact I have somewhat of a life now and really enjoy this community. I'd like to see more incentives for smaller channels to actually make Money from what it is they are doing as some ppl stream hour after hour and make nothing. This is disheartening for some streamers and I have seen amazing creators give up as they don't see any advance towards making money. In saying that I'd also like to see twitch employees joing streams to see the possible talent that would usually go unnoticed and maybe putting them on the recommended list more often rather than advertising big channels that clearly have got past the point of needing help to grow. If this is something that could be at least talked about I'd be more inclined to put ourselves out there that bit more. -

As a small channel grows they should be rewarded with more of an incentive for following rules and playing adds during a stream. As when adds are played on small channels you usually find they lose viewer's due to the adds so most of the time adds don't get run in fear of losing viewers. Also viewer's who watch adds and stay in the stream should also be rewarded with the possibility of a free subscription if they watch a certain amount of adds during a stream of smaller channels giving them an incentive to stay rather than just leaving.

The fact that I am forced to watched lame ads that have nothing to do with anything about what i am doing or have any interest in is in fact killing any appeal for me checking out any new channels or content on Twitch. In fact at this time if another platform was around I would be tempted to stop using twitch because its. I have been around since justin.tv and this is the last straw.

Increase the time pre-rolls can be paused, 2-3 minutes for 1hr would be more acceptable. Capping it at every 30 minutes is not acceptable for a show that runs for 4-8 hours.
Also Tier out or increase your AD revenue to streamers to give streamers more reason to run ADs.
Streamers can run 3-5 minutes of ADs every hour to eliminate pre-rolls all together, and then they would have control over their own content, be more likely to educate their communities that ADs are acceptable in this format because they are being compensated properly, and those mid-roll ADs would increase revenue for Twitch and the streamer while helping smaller channels gain and retain viewers.
