Disable Training for Generative AI
Forcing all users to opt into having their content used for the training of Generative AI is a backstab to the own community and especially their safety. it is sickening that your voice, face, information, any personal branding will be stolen by default. its clear twitch still intends to keep their harmful and fraudulent AI features in tact but it should be something people knowingly and willingly have to accept into and not something discovered. twitch shouldn't be this deceitful towards its creators.
Please change it so that any generative training for AI is turned off by default and must be opted into by the user with signed permission not just a switch hidden in the menu. the current deceitful nature of the addition hurts twitch's reputation and trustworthiness as a company.

I personally don't have a problem with Amazon building a rival or internal model to Google, OpenAI, Clownde and all the chinese manufacturers (Alibaba, Tencent, DeekSeek, MoonShot etc) with their models. Or even making them better.
Imo its dumb how Twitch communicated their interest and change! Silently pushing this opt-out button onto us, without notifying us or even waiting for our feedback is a huge ** move and a crazy deviation from Amazon & Twitch procedures (rather doctrine).
Let alone to mention the whole opt-out Generative AI Training thing is illegal under GDPR (there's no legitimate interest nor a legal requirement for AI training data collection). Especially when one considers the attempted Dark Pattern and Loophole exploitation by Amazon/Twitch. All European companies who tried that were 100% butchered in court later on and had to delete all collected data. So the risk of high cost and losing the data esp. from EU Citizen with very tiny languages and data sets about them (!) is insanely high.
The other huge problem is how the policy does not properly state what exactly is being done with the data AND that the link to the Amazon policy is actually dead. This decreases trust too.
If you look at all these facts, it looks like a insane loss of reputation for Amazon/Twitch, especially if we take into account that they could have just asked us to opt-in for a small amount of bitties in return, or even make a proper agreement change - giving us the option either to enable it or delete the account.
It's a disgrace what Amazon and Twitch did there. There's no need to butcher the own reputation like that and offend us users. Keep in mind: WE provide you all the data for your generative AI bs AND we are the ones who making your content and platform run.
So we need some respect for us in return, as it was in the past. You always notified us in advance before changes were made and you actually allowed us to contribute for success. But this is a full failure that will backlash and hit harder later on .
What you did damaged the whole AI industry (not only reptuation wise) with it's legitimate interests, the good-faith contributors, and the positively behaving actors. They already have bad reptuation for Musk's Memphis gas-turbine corruption and the other sh1t they do e.g. using so much energy and spitting out so much trash e.g. increasing hardware prices and blocking the production of them and killing the planet... Like wth are you doing? Thats not how to win the competition between the big companies and China - which seems to have stricter privacy laws than our so-called rule of law driven democracies.
I would have put my efforts onto building opt-in, consent, trust and community building. For example, by giving smaller and larger charity streams a few bitties or similiar incentives at low cost for Twitch. So people contribute because they have an interest - forming a mutual interest, which avoids the PR trouble.
Note from Gemini: if you're forcing us to give our data, how many people will poison the training data intentionally? How much does it cost you to clean and process that post collection? How hard will ur cleaning pipelines will get compromised/poisoned?
So how is it not smarter to ask for consent and build quality data?

Generative AI does not belong on Twitch or ANY streaming service. The people that make content do it for themselves and sometimes other purposes, NEVER for the people hosting the site. My face, my voice, my music, my content! Not yours!

People were very much against the AI training you are FORCING onto users and yet you continue to FORCE AI even when your users tell you no, I have no problem with leaving twitch and finding somewhere else to stream. You need to respect when your users turn off the AI training and take that at face value, not go behind your users back and decide “it doesn’t matter what the users say: we’re doing the AI training and the off button does nothing.” Why would anyone give you views or money when you show nothing they say or do matters and you’re just going to do as you please? This is unethical and disgusting.

Hey, guess what? Even if I turn the setting for AI training OFF, if I leave the settings page and come back... it's on again! I'd LIKE to think that this is a bug, but since Twitch has already publicly said that they made it opt-out because NO ONE WOULD OPT-IN, I have to assume that the setting isn't even a real opt-out, it's just there to make you feel better, and they're going to use everything on the platform for AI training regardless of what settings you pick.

You have over 13,000 people telling you we don't want this and you did it anyway. Having the opt in on by default is actively a choice that is playing in our faces. The fact that we had to manually disable it is ridiculous. The fact that you said the quiet part out loud, "We didn't have opt in because no one would opt in" is very telling. That alone should have told you it's a terrible idea, you KNEW it's a terrible idea and did it anyway. This is shady and unethical.

Dunno how much good it will do, since Twitch has demonstrated that they ignore these, but I'm upvoting this.
I heard RPlay was nice...

Adding language to the legal agreement that forces all users to have their personal information fed into an unregulated AI system is unethical, immoral, and should be illegal.
That language needs to be removed immediately.

honestly i'm not even a streamer, just a chatter. but this might genuinely make me leave the platform forever. i am not compromising my privacy or morals for amazon to get richer by burning the planet.

Are you actually Insane?
Twitch, do you want to retain any users? -

We do not consent to train you AI **** and twitch knew exactly how unpopluar this would be. You took in all out feedback and just threw it into the trash along with your community. Remove all the AI gen features immediately

Anything like this, if you must have it, should be opt IN, not opt OUT. Period

Seconding this. Generative artificial intelligence is a complete and total waste, and such a stab in the back from Twitch.
