How it works:
  • Choose a relevant category for your idea and check to see if any other users have already submitted this suggestion before creating your own
  • Be clear with your suggestion, provide examples and solutions to the problem you are posing. Suggestions without actionable feedback may be closed without comment
  • Upvote existing ideas, as opposed to creating multiple similar requests
  • Be sure to share your suggestion with others to gain more support!
  • Note: Suggestions are not guarantees that we will take action on an idea. We will try our best to communicate why an idea may not work, but may not always be able to share that information.
  • Titles that are unclear or unnecessarily vulgar may be reworded to better reflect the request for ease of discovery

Appeals or commentary on suspension decisions, support requests, suggestions disparaging others, and non-constructive feedback will be closed without comment.

  1. Give streamers or their moderators the ability to accept or deny incoming raids, with a default state to be set by the streamer. At the moment streamers can choose to only be raided by friends or teammates, which increases safety at the cost of discoverability. This will give some peace of mind in the midst of hate raiders.

Alternatively, a moderator command to "Purge all raiders", if a raid has been malicious - a one stop shop to time out / ban all accounts that came in with a recent raid.

  2. This suggestion is based on PositiveIona's idea at https://twitch.uservoice.com/forums/933812-safety/suggestions/44529945-sans-serif-fonts

However, the suggestion to use serif-fonts to resolve the lower case 'l' vs upper case 'I' problem (to clarify the first one is an 'L' and the second one is an 'i') will make the platform less accessible for certain people, ESPECIALLY those with dyslexia. So you'd just be replacing one problem with an entirely new one.

I'd like to propose that, instead of adding serifs, we should find a font that distinguishes the letters more clearly whilst still being sans-serif.
Some examples include: Verdana, Tahoma, Trebuchet, or Open-Dyslexic; though I'm…

  3. Having an option to limit what character typesets can be used in chat.

For English stream, it could be limited to ASCII-95 (https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/C%2B%2B_Programming/ASCII)
If a character was used outside of this typeset, the whole message would not go through.

Any variation could work on this.

  4. In light of the hate raids, I have been using the option to only allow raids from channels I follow. However, this is not the ideal option since it prevents being able to connect with other, genuine streamers that I may not currently know.

It would be nice to have more filters for who can raid your stream. I think a great option would be "only allow raids from affiliates and partners" or "only allow raids from accounts that are x days old". This will help prevent others from making an account just to immediately hate raiding a stream.

  5. With the new Nudity & NSFW content guidelines, it has made it very unclear to a lot of people in my community, the VRChat Roleplay community, whether or not furry models and/or avatars are under the same level of scrutiny as human avatars are.

On April 4, 2020, these rules were put into effect:

How do the new rules about AR Avatars impact my content if I stream a virtual reality sandbox game like VRChat?
    - Our policy on Augmented Reality avatars applies to content where cameras and software are used to capture a person’s physical likeness and translate it…

  6. Hello, thank you for implementing the recent phone verification feature. That has been really helpful, along with all the other safety features you have. I am a small streamer who is dealing with a harasser/doxxer who regularly makes new usernames and comes into my chat to drop my real name and address. The phone verification has prevented him from doing that in chat, but now he comes in and whispers my dox to everyone on my viewer list. The following would be very helpful in preventing him from doing this in the future without disrupting my growth as a streamer:

  7. It has come to my attention a few days ago that there are many children in the asmr category. Many of them are "showing themselves". I would like someone from twitch staff to be far more active in this category to hopefully put as much as a stop as humanly possible. I am aware that it will always be an issue, but I would hope with a more active staff presence there that it may help immensely.

  8. Poor parented individuals who actually use words to interact in a cursive, hate-speech, or raging manner should get disciplined.

It's possible to interact and steer realities with really respecting the respectful guidelines.

If their social circle is toxic already should show us that we need to optimize their manners, and teach them never to curse no matter which language skill.

    Fullest respect, yours faithfully
    Me

  9. Right now, trolls often come into my chat and scroll through my viewers, and harass them. I think the only people who should be able to see the viewer-list is the streamer, and maybe the moderators. I think it leaves viewers vulnerable to just enjoying a stream. It’s essentially the same thing as if I was watching Netflix, some random person across the world could see that I was watching a certain show. Please remove viewer-list for everyone but the streamer!

  10. I don't want to see ANY channel or user that I have BLOCKED on the website at all. There's nothing worse than blocking a channel because that streamer decided to verbally abuse you publicly on stream, then you block them like you should. Only to find out their twitch stream is still there reminding you that blocking or reporting them will do nothing and change nothing. They still get to appear on my account. I don't understand why this is possible, what is the point of blocking them if they still appear when I browse the streams list? Please change…

  12. Given all of the recent issues with streamers experiencing these kinds of attacks perhaps a step by step outline of how best to deal with these attacks.

    Ie:
    1. Use moderator view
    2. Emote only mode
    3. Clear chat
    4. Add term(s) to automod
    5. Ban accounts involved with the attack
    6. Report were applicable
    7. Return to normal chat

Repeat as needed. (Or something better)

  13. Things I hear on stream end up in my YouTube recommended. Next thing you know. A closested member of the lgbtq will have his/her/their secret revealed and might face repurcussions. You are going to ruin our lives and endanger them if you keep invading our privacy.

  14. As a streamer and avid Twitch viewer, there are many community members who do not seem to understand the "unwritten rules" of Twitch. It would be lovely to have a resource or link to direct these people to. Perhaps an informative hub similar to the help center but focused on interpersonal conduct. Videos, articles, etc.

    Some of the things observed:
    - A user entering chat and stating they are underage (less than 13 for TOS violation, less than 18 in mature channels)
    - Asking for mod privledges
    - Asking for a gift sub
    - First message in a channel: "Can…

  15. Similar to the idea of denying incoming raids - once it is determined that the raid is malicious, the mods/streamer can ban/remove all raid members with one click. (+Are you sure you want to ban all raid members for raidname)

Issues with this: 1. they will just privately join the channel in raid-like fashion.
    2. rare chance of getting 2 raids at once, one from a 'friend' and another 'malicious' and banning friendly viewers.
