Add: Medium type to Games Topline: Many platforms have different media types e.g. cart, cd, digital, disk, cassette etc. These media types often have different artwork/coverart for a game when compared to each other.
The ask: Provide an endpoint to show cover art and game details per medium per game

This way we could say: show me games for just this platforms medium and their associated cover art and details e.g. perhaps the CD release was different to the Digital release.Background:

Display Parent Company's Subsidaries Subsidiary companies have their parent company listed on their pages; I think it would be helpful if this information flowed backwards, and a parent company had its children listed on the page.
Ideally this would work both ways, so that the data point could be entered from either the parent company's page or the subsidiary's.

Youtube I am in my 30s and time is scarce so some times I cannot play a game but still watch it on YouTube/Twitch.

Show platform(s) in search autocomplete results and in related content. Right now if the game has multiple versions released in the same year, it's impossible to distinguish them without clicking on every single one.
Adding some info about the platforms this specific version was released on will improve UI usability, and also will reduce an amount of user requests because you don't need to open 10 pages just to find 1 specific you need.
I know I can click "See all results", but it would be nice if we could skip this step.

Add India as a release region I don't believe this has been suggested yet and I believe this would be a useful data point. While not a major gaming release region, even compared so something like Korea, Russia or Brazil, I think its necessary to include due to the number of regional exclusives, particularly on the PlayStation 2 & 3.
One example already on IGDB is 'Hanuman: Boy Warrior' which current has it's region as 'Asia', which while geographically closer, Indian releases belong more with European releases and since they're rated by PEGI, at least from my understanding.

STAFF/CAST/CREDITS section like IMDB IGDB needs a staff/cast/credits sections for each game, like IMDB, so devs can add themselves to projects they worked on with their roles and people don't need to look up the credits on youtube each time they want to check (which can be not enough because sometimes people go uncredited, or are not properly credited inside the game). That opens the door to dev pages, also in the style of IMDB, having, for example, a Shigeru Miyamoto page that lists all the games he worked on and his roles automatically

Boycott feature - give gamers an impactful voice Since gamers are currently at the mercy of big companies which games get developed, I would love a boycott feature that gives gamers an impactful voice. This could revolutionize the gaming industry.
Instead of waiting hopelessly for a long wished sequal, just to be ignored, we - the gamers - could influence the decision makers at the top management level.

Apex Legends bug I don't know exactly if I can report this here or if someone already did, but I was checking Discord Activity Settings and which games support natively and it said IGBD provides the information about that.
The thing I want to report is about a game that is not recognized properly. It is Apex Legends, the executable that is on your database is the Easy Anticheat "STARTPROTECTEDGAME.EXE" and not the actual game, so when you open the game on steam, origin or anywhere, it detects it is opening, but when that process end (Starting the anticheat), discord thinks…

MySims: Cozy Bundle duplicate https://www.igdb.com/games/mysims-cozy-bundle and https://www.igdb.com/games/mysims-cozy-bundle--1 seem to be just copies of each other.
One of these should probably be removed, in my opinion.

Horizontal scroll on "My Contrinutions" table It would be nice if the table of "My Contributions" view had an horizontal scrolling, since on mobile devices it is not possible to see the entire table content unless using "Desktop Mode".

Ad a missing VR platform Quest 3S On 15th october meta released a new headset - Quest 3S. It's missing in the database. For example, Batman Arkham Shadow is compatible with Quest 3 and Quest 3S.

Add license or type of software This could be good, a another attribute/property in the games about the license.
For example: Minetest is under LGPL, Tux Racer is under GPL...

"Web3 Gaming" Category If you look currently at categories there is a crypto category where you can see a lot of people doing TA / showing charts, and you can see some people playing web3 games.
It would be good idea to separate these 2 since not all web3 games are getting accepted and there is a lot of people that either want to play only web3 games or they don't want to play web3 games at all. Would be cool to see this added :) Thanks

API sporadically responds with 401 We are having issues with the IGDB API since roughly 2024-09-28 10:46 UTC where we see sporadic 401 Unauthorized responses. Most of the time the API works as expected but every 5 or so requests return a 401.

Events Endpoint -> Invalid live stream URLS The following event id's have invalid live stream URL's:
414, 414, 411, 410, 402, 486 - YouTube account no longer exists
Not sure sure if it's a bug, but there is also:
171 - Odd stream URL - The only 1 outside YT
308, 335, 486 - Stream url is private / unlisted
The endpoint also returns multiple types of YouTube URL's. While I've made a function to detect which one and parse out the video id, it may help to have a consistant URL scheme, at least in regards to YT URL's.

Adding Content-Length to the response header of the image API I'm experimenting with the image api. I would like to get the size of the image before downloading it to be able to calculate downloaded percentage from it.
