Do not impliment the AI auto clip tool
Twitch has implemented a sign up for an AI alpha auto clip tool. This is very unethical in many ways to not just content creation but also to things outside content creation.
I ask twitch to remove this sign up and not engage in any use of AI when it comes to content creation.
Facts about AI usage
- Google’s single Iowa data center alone consumed 1 billion gallons of water in 2024. The first way AI uses water is for cooling. Data centers run thousands of powerful computers around the clock. As these machines crunch numbers and manage data, they generate a lot of heat.
To keep everything running smoothly, water is often used in cooling systems. This can mean circulating water through pipes to absorb heat or using evaporative cooling towers that release warm air.
Ai is trained to use already created content for training with out user consent. This has already been happening on social media. Twitch's AI clip tool ''claims'' they will not use user generated clips with out consent for training to assume what constitutes as high engagement moments for clip creation.
- AI data centers now generate 2.5–3.7% of global greenhouse gas emissions, officially surpassing the aviation industry’s 2% contribution while growing 15% annually.
It is very important that people speak up and say no to the AI clip tool especially partners and ambassadors as this tool is very harmful to the community.
Turning it off as an option is not enough.

Stop predating on our content. This is unnecessary and wasteful. It will cost more money than it will save because viewers and creators make clips FOR FREE.
You are ******* money away and passing the cost on to US. -

Twitch, if you really want to start taking into account what your ACTUAL HUMAN USERS want, here's a good starting point.
NO AI, EVER.

I do not want AI anything near or on my channel in anyway. Especially as a creative who already sees the damage it does to established creators.
A spokesperson has gone on record saying "the AI industry would crash if they gave credit to every artist..." That's not an industry that should exist. -

Ai is incredibly unpopular not only with twitch viewers, but with the very streamers on your platform. Trying to push this idea only shows how disconnected you are from the very people who have built up this site, instead focusing on chasing technological trends for your own means. We do not want this. At all.

AI is a deadend tech for snake-oil-salesmen and professional liars. I do not want yet another platform falling in to the trap of spending billions of dollars on something that not only makes the user experience worse, it will only generate thousands of dollars of revenue for the company while also destroying our planet even faster.

Yeah, no, as a person who takes clips myself- i don't want to see people get lazy on account of there being an AI. I take passion in crafting good humor, and enjoying fun and funny moments in streams. it creates memories, and has passion and joy. what purpose would training an AI on this serve but put clipping channels, and other content creators alike lower on business? I say no to a clipping AI.

The biggest strength Twitch has is INTERACTION with HUMANS. PEOPLE. VIEWERS.
Not AI. If you allow AI of any sort to affect the platform, the platform will proceed to get worse.
This is why there are reports of need to reach a Twitch or Youtube contact to get around the AI systems that automatically filter out people, until the PR Clout comes knocking.
Adding this AT ALL would topple the very creativity that built Twitch as a platform, and collapse the empire worse than Rome.
This is an insult to Gamers, Creators, and Viewers.

What, emote bad pr wasn't good enough? Now this? Not everything needs to be AI, stop trying to force it. Grow a spine for once, or you know, let the site fall hard

Generative AI has no place in streaming, where genuine interaction is priority and nearly all of those using the platform to take part in it don't want it. We know how destructive it is to the environment, to the creativity of those who think about using it, and to the community as a whole.
This is a terrible idea, don't do it. I'm sure there are other ways that clip creation can be made easier without actively stealing users' data and content for the sake of generating clips. Literally anything will be better than this.
