Make all AI features optional, and opt-out by default.

For any features on Twitch which use AI, allow all creators to opt in or opt out of them individually, and set the default to Opt Out for all new AI features. We as creators should have the choice whether to use AI or not on our channels. If we do not want to use it at all, it's important for us to be able to have that choice, AND for us not to be opted in by default.

    Since AI was automatically opt-in recently, I don't trust Twitch at this point. Eroding whatever faith I had left. Who knows, I think they've been having this sorts running in the background before this was released. Opt-outting might be pointless if your years of work were already absorbed.

    The choice to make it opt-in by default has deeply eroded any trust that was left between creators and Twitch. Between this + bad payouts to creators, many creators are willing to jump ship at first opportunity to platforms that respect their creators.

    Nobody I know wants to voluntarily give up any of our data for use by the GenAI trash machines. Trying to sneak AI data collection into our Twitch experience by defaulting it to On just acknowledges that you wouldn't actually get any data if you genuinely respected your users' wishes.

    GenAI needs to die in a fire, and its supporters aren't much better.

    literally admitting that you only set it to opt out instead of opt in shows that you know this isn't popular and you are intentionally abusing your creators. You already gamified the back end to make it difficult for creators to earn a living, including Turbo which steals money from the hands of creators. This is just a continuation and an escalation of that, and a threat to the creators cause you are indicating that you eventually hope to replace them. I know you guys are owned by Amazon but yeesh this is over the top.

    It should be off by default for sure. We shouldn’t be forced to use AI slop. In fact, it is a big insult towards content creators. And should be illegal too. I do not consent them to use any of my content to train their AI. Twitch you should be ashamed for even thinking of using AI.

    Instead of adding features we actually need Twitch has further shown their cards as a data mining Amazon empire. The trust is broken. I will be pushing all my subs and donations off the platform until the theft of mine and many other creators hard work is remedied by removing unethical generative AI off Twitch.

    The decision to scrape all of our Twitch data is the reason I unsubscribed from Amazon Prime. I no longer trust Amazon.

    Also, I find it horrifying to join another channel knowing that they may be training on my data. I want to opt out of that too.

    I feel like it is important to mention that many of us streamers (and especially the large community of VTubers on Twitch) use assets made by artists who do NOT allow the use of their work for AI training. Have I retroactively violated my contract with my model artist because of this feature? I have no idea!

    I as an artist would rather NOT have Gen AI implemented automatically, that literally is STEALING no matter how you slice it. Stealing from artists is MORALLY BANKRUPT AND WRONG! Being forced in is not acceptable. Having to opt-out should not be something that is happening. Let the people who want to participate in it, opt-in.

    No way any sane person is on Twitch's side after the gen-AI implemented and automatically opted-in too. It should be opted-off by default instead or hear me out, never implement it in the first place.

    Having this as opt-out instead of opt-in is deeply antisocial and undermines the trust we depend on for every streamer's community to continue on twitch, instead of going elsewhere.

    Not only are you utilizing our work to feed a tool that will be used against us (or has already been started to be used against us), but you also forcibly violated our boundaries by automatically opting us in by default. And your answers are evidence that you knew nobody wants this which makes it even worse. Get GenAI out of our spaces.

    you definitely already know, but Gen AI is a cancer and nobody wants it on the site at all, nobody wants it opt-in by default, and I think you should name and shame everyone involved in the company who is pushing it before firing them.

    Opt-in by default? Does twitch want every single creator on its platform to despise them? I guess they've decided the AI hysteria money is worth their reputation?

    We don't want genAI, much less for it to be opt-in by default!
