Make all AI features optional, and opt-out by default.
For any features on Twitch which use AI, allow all creators to opt in or opt out of them individually, and set the default to Opt Out for all new AI features. We as creators should have the choice whether to use AI or not on our channels. If we do not want to use it at all, it's important for us to be able to have that choice, AND for us not to be opted in by default.

You already knew that people wouldn't want to opt in and you already knew WHY they didn't want to opt in. The only thing you're accomplishing by cheating people into opting in is encouraging people to delete their accounts and take their streams and wallets elsewhere. This is just a poor business decision. Have some common sense - don't kill the flow of money, content, and attention for the hope of making more money from content.

The default of being opted *in* to AI training is disgusting. Twitch has just proven that our privacy doesn't mean anything to them.
There are plenty of other streaming platforms now, and I think it's time I started taking a closer look at some of them. Staying on Twitch just because it's familiar is no longer an option if this is the kind of thing they're going to be doing. -

I'd love to hear what userbase they expect to stay around when they replace all the streamers with slop generated from our content. Absolutely the **** not. If "no one would opt-in" is what you think, then that should be a hint for how users feel about it.

If this feature/software had any real faith in it from the corporate bozos pushing it, it would be sold instead of forcing people to have opt-in as a default without any warning. That part should be so obvious, so I will state it again. These capitalist dogs would be selling this scam software if they had any real faith in it. Forcing it in is taking the lack of morals of capitalism with the artificial inevitability drive of fascism.
With the way the "training" (read: plagiarism) posits to work, it should only be opt-in for people who choose to go partner, or potentially affiliate. Those contracts already involve name and image of a streamer being used by twitch, so forcing it onto even streamers who choose not to go affiliate and partner is nonsensical. Is the next step putting ads on brand new streamers channels? Because this is equivalently asinine and anti-user in that regard. It's also incredibly anti-community, as now who will want to collaborate with someone that they don't know for sure has switched to opt-out? Who will want to chat in a stream where they don't know for sure the channel owner has chosen to opt-out?
I'm already someone who lurks in others streams, and this makes me want to keep it that way instead of actually try to converse with others. It's going to turn a very social platform into an anti-social one.EDIT: It should be noted that this feature has been active on youtube streaming for quite a while and that is the reason a lot of people choose to stream on twitch instead of youtube. All the people involved in the approval process for this idea not realizing that fact are clearly too incapable of realizing the values of their platform and I would strongly encourage that if they have any integrity or pride in themselves at all to step down and go work at google instead.

I find it abhorrent that Twitch saw this top voted suggestion, 13000+ upvotes, and decided to force streamers to opt into having our work used for generative AI learning by default anyway. Remember to turn off that setting here: https://www.twitch.tv/settings/security
It's at the very bottom because of course Twitch won't listen to our feedback.I did not consent for this to be set to on by default. I do not want my streams or any of my work used in genAI. Nobody wanted this and it's being forced on us anyway.

the excuse for auto opt-in being "no one would do it if we didn't" is incredibly disrespectful of peoples' autonomy. and further, telling us we're lucky to have an opt-out option in the first place is pure evil.

This is an unequivocally bad decision. AI features/training is something the overwhelming majority of creators will absolutely hate, and enabling it by default is going to even further alienate any creatives who already don't believe that Twitch has their best interests at heart.

Thanks for auto-opting me in to AI training. I love having my writing stolen and used for abuse and theft. Rock on, Twitch. I knew you were one of the good ones, stealing data and all.

Very sleazy of Twitch to disregard this.

This should never have been added in the first place, but if you're going to make creators give your genAI model free labor, at least make it an opt-in instead of opt-out by default. Shame, Twitch.

this should absolutely be opt out, sneaking this in without notice is disgusting and Twitch should be ashamed of this. It genuinely makes me want to stop using the website entirely, despite my favorite content creator being exclusively on twitch.

Hey you know you have a big creative comunity. You know creative comunity are especially against generative AI.
Then impose Generative AI on your comunity.
This is a huge problem in missunderstanding who made your plateform popular in the first place -

Nobody wants their content stolen, only to be used to replace them. Degenerative AI is garbage that makes garbage and contributes nothing of value to society while costing us more than we know.

This is a terrible decision. AI doesn't even work properly, and the last thing I want is to help it get "better" at doing the bidding of a bunch of out of touch oligarchs. This is bad for streamers, bad for staff, bad for everyone. ******** twitch.

Some platforms prioritize the customer. Some prioritize the seller. Twitch wants to prioritize the shareholder.

This feature shouldn't exist at all, and my chats should NOT be trained on just because I chatted in a channel that was opted into training. My opt-out should count for ALL my content sent to Twitch.
