Strongly against AI, and scraping content material should be a default opted out setting. Nobody should have been automatically opted in where we have to choose to opt out.
Also automatically opting in is strongly disrespectful for content creators who have passed and CANNOT opt-out.
Their new setting is also screaming for copyright infringement as well for intellectual properties owned by nintendo, sony, disney if they're intending to create AI generated bot streamers with the data they're collecting. There's already hundreds of thousands of streamers generating content and profit for twitch through bits, subs, and ad revenue which they already take a huge cut from as it is. This is honest to God, the greed they talk about in the Bible.
I don't know why they think adding AI functionality past the current algorithm would be a good idea when there's a large percentage of people against it. It hasn't worked well for other platforms, it's a money sink and it's stupid for them to think about adding it.

This wasn't done consultatively, or with pre-roll out communication. This wasn't done with any form of consent. This wasn't done with the creator's wants/needs/wishes in mind.

Auto-opting in creative people, many of whom have been staunchly anti-Generative AI in particular, is a breach of the trust that is necessary for this platform to flourish and grow as you claim you want it to.

Opt-in should be the default.
Consent should be the default.
Consultation should be the default.

With this divisive has llm generative AI is these days. Forcing people to opt in is never going to win you any Goodwill. You need to make it an option that is not forced on users by default. Or better yet get rid of it entirely because it's garbage.

Automatically opting in all users without asking them seems pretty ******. At the very least keep in mind that users could be underage too.

I recognize that you would like as many people as possbile to opt in to your new feature. I'd much rather have it be a one time pop-up that lets me opt in manually. That way at least I am actively aware what I'm consenting too instead of it feeling sneaked past the user (me) somehow.

You surely are aware that many users have strong oppinions about AI, so being extra transparent here just would have seemed appropriate to me.

With how many people are fed up with AI slop it makes it understandable when people are frustrated when AI is forced onto people. Allow others to be a able to advertise the AI in a tag so that if people are looking for AI they can find it that way. While the rest of us work hard to making honest AI Free content.

Opting in without consent first is not the behaviour I would expect from Twitch. It's sad this is even allowed to do without agreeing first. If you do it opt-out default, you would see how many people like AI.
