[Feature] Incoming Raids Settings
As some of you may have heard on Patch Notes, we're excited to announce the upcoming launch of new settings that will allow Creators to have additional customization over how they receive incoming raids. Here are the key features and changes you'll see upcoming in September:
- Tailor the min/max thresholds for viewers, based on your needs! If you have missed 1-3 viewer raids, you can now opt to see those notifications again!
- Set up requirements based on (1) account age and/or (2) channel type. For example, you can choose to only allow raids from accounts you follow, etc.
- Additionally, you can find a Quick Action in your Stream Manager to easily pause or block raids mid-stream, whether it be to preserve a moment to make an important announcement, or to avoid disappointing a new influx of viewers as you're getting off for the day!
We’d love to hear your thoughts and suggestions on how we can continue to improve incoming raids on Twitch. Thank you for your ongoing support and feedback!
Although these additions are nice to have, I feel like they only focus on avoiding to make the streamer uncomfortable to receive many viewers. But they don't really do much about hate raid issues.
Here are some ideas that I believe would help answering this.
Being notified a raid is coming from someone (name + viewer count) would help to prepare ourselves.
Ideally, being able to accept/refuse incoming raids would sure be helpful to many.
Also, being able to know all the users coming from the raid would help building tools to better target potential haters. Right now we can only rely on the chatters endpoint which can take several minutes to include new chatters which can't help us much.
Being able to mute all the people coming from a raid to avoid restricting the chat for everyone else would be a poweful tool as well.
I think this is great, takes out the embarrassment of raiding into a streamer who is winding down and ending. I would love to adjust the time. Having options like 30 mins or until end stream for short announcements ooor for the ADD ending stream and just chatting for ages but don't want raids for the rest of the stream. The key is that it allows raids the next stream. RN it looks like you can deny all raids for the same effect but will have to remember to switch it back
Those three points you have listed are simply amazing. I especially like setting requirements based on account age or channel type. Preventing brand new accounts from raiding my channel or the charity channel I manage is awesome. Phone & Email verification for chat has cut way, way back in trolls, this is another essential step. Love it.
Would this help? Yes.
Does this address the problem I was directed here for? No.
This doesn't make it possible for a streamer or their mods to see all the accounts in a raid, which would make it possible to ban the accounts in a harassment/hate raid.
