Affiliates - opt-out of tiered subscriptions for more Tier 1 emote slots
After asking around, several people, myself included, believe it would be a great idea for Affiliates to have the choice to either:
Be able to receive Tier 2 and Tier 3 subscriptions, for 1 emote per tier, or,
Opt to only be able to receive Tier 1 subscriptions but have 3 emote slots.
I very much appreciate being able to receive subscriptions and having the emotes available, but it'd be great to have the option to commission artists for more work, as well as offering subscribers more in return for their support, but obviously lock it at the available 3.
Affiliates now have up to seven total emotes based on subscription points (5 Tier 1, 1 Tier 2, 1 Tier 3) =)

This would actually make it worth subbing to an affiliate opting out of t2 and t3 emote slots and just moving them to t1

give affiliates 3 emotes for tier 1, but no tier 2 or 3.
Affiliates want to give value to their viewers and what's cooler than getting 3 emotes for a tier 1 subscription.
It's less likely viewers will sub for anything higher than a tier 1 for an affiliate.
Leave the tier 2 and 3 to partners only so that if the affiliate wants to be serious to make a living off twitch, they'll work towards partner, unlock the higher tiers to earn more.
Affiliates aren't going to partner so easily to unlock more emotes. -

I agree with this. This benefits both affiliates and partners as the latter will have the superior option of subscription tiers.
If that isn't enough, might I suggest using our sub points to earn more emotes (still capped at 3).
Example: We all get 1 emote. At 5 sub points we get 1 more. At 10 we get the third and last emote.
(the numbers are just arbitrary)There isn't much left to do in terms of the road to partner after getting affiliate. Earning our emotes helps us use our sub points which drives us to have fun mini-goals along the way to partner.

You want more emotes, work your ass off to become a partner.Affiliates need to take what is given to them and appreciate the fact that they have a baby sub button. Don't ask for hands, work harder for the things you want.

The following idea may benefit partners as well:
Imagine a special settings page, "Subscription Tiers".
When it loads, all of your approved emotes show up. You assign them to any tier as you please. All on tier 1, or for partners, maybe you have 9 emotes and want each tier to unlock 3 more, so you assign 3 to each.
Tiers could be disabled with a checkbox, or it could be set that any tier not assigned any emotes (except tier 1) would automatically be disabled.
This would solve our (affiliates) problems, but also give partners more flexibility.

I find myself agreeing with this more and more. In my own terms, twitch granted me the honor of a sub button, as an affiliate, and I’m beyond gracious for it. I have great IRL friends who are partners and I feel that the upper tiers should be something left to those that have achieved such a stature. Emotes aside, I’ve always felt this way and it’s coming from someone who has subs in those tiers. Of course, just my humble opinion.

Agreed 100% .... 3 tier sub's aren't really for small time streamers but I know my sub's would appreciate 3 emotes instead. Even if made as unlockables at certain sub counts

It's a great idea. We affiliates are a happy bunch of part-timers mostly and the tier'd sub'ing seems to be something more of the PRO-Streamers gig don't you think?

I agree with this idea. I find it rare that an affiliate would receive the higher tier subs (though my experience is limited). I'm sure many affiliates would prefer to be able to reward their subscribers more for supporting them as an affiliate.
Many partners have a lot of emotes available for their first tier, which can make it seem to a user that it isn't worth subscribing to an affiliate who only has one emote to offer.
If Twitch could consider this or a similar alternative, I think that it would help the affiliates and users both be happier.

Yes please! I would much rather have the choice of 3 Tier 1 emotes than 1 for each Tier

I would love to see the ability to opt out of tiered subscriptions as an affiliate for more emotes as a tier 1 sub. One advantage of subscribing to partners is that they get multiple emotes as a lower tier subscriber. This is much easier for branding a channel than having a max of 3 emotes if you subscribe at $24.99. I think it should be maxed at 3 emotes total, for whatever tier you cap it at.
IE:
Cap at Tier 1 - 3 sub emotes for tier 1
Cap at Tier 2 - 1 sub emote for tier 1 / 2 sub emotes for tier 2
Cap at Tier 3 - 1 emote for each tierI think more times than not people would opt to cap it at tier 1 so that they are able to give the highest emote reward to a subscriber.
