Watch Series with Viewers (Prime Viewers only)
Do you know that feeling as a Streamer when u want to chill and relax and just want to watch some TV series with your viewers? But you can't, because it's against the twitch rules?
So some time ago Twitch and Amazon Prime got so much intertwined, that it would be possible to do exactly thesw chill-series-streams some streamers want.
The TV-series streams would be only visible for prime users and when a streamer switchs to this kind of stream, the non-prime users will get a screen where it says, that they can't watch the stream and need to purchase twitch prime (So THAT would be nice for Twitch too).
I would looove to see this feature in the furure, because there is nothing better than watching series together with friends/viewers/other ppl.
Watch Parties has been released for all Creators and viewers who have Prime Video!

I think it would be super fair if you give me 0.01 % of the extra revenue u will get from this feature 😜
Btw pretty cool that you will really do it! Can‘t wait to test it out :)
And come on give my channel early access 😂 https://twitch.tv/Apple99er Thanks!

Since Twitch is own by Amazon, it will be cool and relaxing to watch a movie on a popular streamer and chat rather watching by yourself, my idea with anyone subscribed or Prime subscriber can only watch the stream and interact with community.

I would love to have this feature, but I don't see it ever happening. Why? Licensing hell and having to get permission from the movie studios Even if they did say yes they would def charge amazon more in licensing fees to allow for this to happen. Plus they would probably be scared of piracy in some stupid way, even though recording a live stream of someone else watching a movie and talking over it would be the dumbest way to get a poor copy of a movie, but movie studios are not that bright when it comes to technology.
As for Amazon original content, shows and movies they produce and own the rights to themselves (which they are investing into heavily to compete more with netflix originals) that seems much more doable, but not movie from studios like MGM, Sony, Disney etc etc.

You can play Amazon apps on your Android device, now Amazon Video app lets in Android users to download movies and television suggests for offline viewing, but most effective if the cell phone or tablet has space to deal with the films. Given the sizes of these downloads, you may quickly locate yourself short on storage. And then you can access all apps related to Amazon.

this is likely never going to happen. what I am allowed to watch where I live doesn't necessarily mean you are allowed to watch where you live.

You and I are likely on different parts of the planet and Amazon Prime Video has geolocation based availability on various things. I.e. it might be ok for you to watch a movie on Prime and NOT ok for another Prime user. This pretty much makes it impossible for this to be a thing unless Twitch were to also block viewers from your stream based on geolocation, which seems rather unlikely.
I've honestly been wanting something like this since IRC was a thing and certain plugins could somewhat synchronize playback of MP3's. So yeah 15 years ago I thought we weren't far from the time where there'd be a way for people to enjoy the same movies/series online as well, but that would be 'pirating' etc.
But now with prime + twitch, this seems like the perfect wedding to get us social re-streaming.
This is a great idea! A thought about a cooperarion between Twitch and Netflix to be able to stream films and series with viewers who own a Netflix account. This seems much more doable.
