I really don't like how Twitch is approaching the idea- they don't want to do the heavy lifting, so they throw the burden onto their users.

I refuse to let 7 years go down the drain just because the heads want to take the coward's way out.

Let's switch to Kick stream platform since Twitch doesn't care about streamers so boycott is the only way out.

Well friends, we tried.
We asked for over 4 years for the VOD system to be fixed and... I guess they're fixing it.

Highlights / Uploads are being completely shredded as of the new update (https://x.com/TwitchSupport/status/1892277199497043994).

I'm insulted and infuriated that they're sweeping it under the rug as a "Well it was barely used anyway", considering how many calls for solutions there have been. I'm upset for myself, my friends and the many users who have used the VOD system to grow their audiences and share their content within the Twitch space. I'm ******* furious that we only have 2 months to find alternative solutions.

Thanks for supporting this idea, voting and commenting and sharing your thoughts, despite once again being completely ignored by the platform yet again.

Please increase the Playlist/Collection... the current cap isn't enough, and increase an individual Collection's limit to beyond 100 videos/VODs/Highlights per Collection/Playlist.

Make the individual Collection/Playlist fit as many as possible or 999-1000... so you don't have to make another playlist for the same category/game but call it #2 or Part 2.

The way it is very limiting, and being capped to... what? 200 playlists is extremely limiting, because you will eventually find yourself in a situation that you have to put a Highlight or VOD into a more generic less focused playlist... which will give rise to the other issue... that each individual Collection/Playlist is limited to 100 videos/VODs/Highlights... not only is it messy but very limiting.

Please increase both the Collection/Playlist creation limit & also increase its held limit per Collection/Playlist. I don't find this issue on Youtube... and if you've been on Twitch since the early days, this is become a very limiting and apparent issue when trying to organize and archive most stuff in a comprehensive manner.

Youtube allows up to 5000 videos per playlist, so the Twitch limit is 98% lower than that (at 100 per collection). Can we get an increase? ;)

I agree with you. At this point of time I already have reached the limit of 100 collections and it became a problem for me - so the sharing of the new collections is limited because there could not be any more!
I believe that this article must be approved in the near future. Yeah, I know that I can export VODs to my own YouTube channel and manage videos there, BUT it is bad user experience, which must be improved after all.

the collection limit of 100 is annoying and totally dumb and needs to be changed.

THAT BEING SAID everyone here should start checking their old highlights, i've been combing through my oldest highlights because the collection limit has made it that i need to delete old collections for new ones and i've been trying to back them up and guess what! a bunch of my old highlights are broken they don't work and i can't download them which means i lost hours of video footage i have ATLEAST 9 highlights all of which are anywhere between 1hr to 6 hours long each that are all broken and i even reached out to twitch via email and they told me

"We have reviewed your case thoroughly and can confirm that unfortunately, our teams are currently out of capacity to take a look into your request. As a result, we will be closing the case in this thread. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you."

soooooo go straight to your oldest highlights and start checking them, see if they play and start backing them up just incase cause you never know i wish i had done local recording of these back then because this wouldnt be an issue but now it is.

Another day, another request for this limit to be looked at.
A reminder that there is currently no limit to the amount of VIDEOS a channel can have, only on the collections they can be put in. This is not a storage issue, we're not asking for more server space. We just wanna put our videos into playlists.

As it stands, I'm directing viewers to Youtube where my videos can be categorised and organised into viewable and searchable content. I know that VODs are not important to Twitch, but surely keeping viewers ON the platform is

the 200 vods per collection has been a thing for awhile but as you said monolith it doesnt show past 100 so for people that are watching those collections once they hit 100 it looks like there's no more vods in that collection.

that being said the amount of collections we can have is still at 100 COME ON TWITCH REMOVE THIS LIMITATION PLEASE.

So, it looks like at some point the number of VODs available per collection has been raised to 200? At least according to the Twitch FAQ.
This is... definitely something? However, it doesn't actually SHOW any videos in collections past the 100 video limit, and the 100 collection limit still exists.

I highlight for a couple streamers, and collections are important for organisation and easily watching a playthrough in order. Capping the number of collections at 100 hurts that ability. Youtube doesn't have Twitch chat beside videos, which is often extremely useful as what the community is saying to the streamer is often key. I request this cap be removed.

honestly this limit to collections is annoying and actually needs to be removed i've removed alot of highlights just so i could create a new collection, and i've uploaded them to YT which i don't want to do, im not looking to split my viewerbase between the 2 platforms and no one is going to view them on YT because im solely a twitch streamer but i've hit the collection limit multiple times and had to delete just to make a new ones. it makes no sense why this is still in place.

Another month, another plea to get rid of this limitation. Please let us make as many collections as we want without this arbitrary limit. We can make unlimited highlights, why not collections?

This is a request once again to REMOVE the limit to the number of collections a user can make on their channel. As the original post has stated, this limit is arbitrary as you can already make unlimited highlights. As a variety streamer, it is incredibly frustrating to have this limitation in place for the sake of organization.

Do you know what I would like for the new year? The removal of this unnecessary limit to the number of collections you can have. It will benefit the streamer for the organization and the viewer to see if that streamer has played a certain game before.

If there is no limit to the number of uploads/highlights you can have, there is no reason for collections to have this limit. A VOD channel on YouTube would prove much more beneficial in the long run.

Unlimited highlights but not unlimited collections. It makes no sense, makes sorting highlights by game incredibly limiting and is, once again, an arbitrary and unnecessary limitation. I would love to not have a single playlist cluttered and unorganized with all of the new games I've played. That would be awful, except it's already happening. YouTube is king for VOD organization.
