Disable Ads? I wish there was a option for affiliates and Partners alike to turn off preroll ads, a lot of us especially the smaller streamers hate that this is a thing and having a option to turn it off would make a lot of our streams a lot better. The reason why I say a toggle feature is because some streamers have a living from this so its not fair for them not to have it but the smaller streamers we dont like it and it drives away a lot from us
Thank you for reading this and taking this into…

Ad Refresh Rate When on mobile (and sometimes in browser), sometimes you click on a stream, watch the ad and then if you have to minimize the app for whatever reason, or swap between streams, there should be a "cooldown" on the ads for the channel. If I JUST watched the 30 second ad on a channel and accidentally hit the back button or closed the app, I have to re-watch that 30 second ad every time I join the stream again. It would be great to have a cool down on the ad refresh rate, so that it can be easier to…

Tools needed for Midroll If you are going to have midrolls you need to provide us tools to work with the midrolls as best we can as creators. Enough people have given you a reason it is a bad idea. I am offering up ideas to make it at least workable if you continue this route.
- We need a countdown on the streamer dash and the mod view on when the next ad will roll. Like a producer would have.
- We need a limited ability to push back an adroll. Like a one time 2 minute snooze button, or a trigger early button.
- We…

Fix Pre-roll Ads These are some ideas to improve the experience of the user when trying to find new channels to watch.
Disable pre-roll ads for streamers with few viewers. Right now the user is actively punished for switching channels and this actively harms the discoverability on the platform.
Add a cool down since the last ad was played before a pre-roll can be triggered again. A value as little as 5-10 minutes could greatly improve the experience.
When running ads not triggered by the streamer it should continue showing the stream (eg. picture in picture with the stream audio muted). Right now…

Small creators ads Small creators have little to no opportunity to gain from ads because there simply aren't the viewers to gain anything monetarily.
A fix would be to provide a greater incentive (more ad free time/bits but also the ability to opt out entirely unless the view count crosses a certain threshold e.g. 100+ viewers.
Ads may be what keeps twitch free but there are plenty of 24 hour streams that constantly run on twitch because people come to twitch for the non-TV experience. Twitch threatens itself by changing into a cable-like experience

Prerolls Audience Loss vs Self Run Midrolls Data Ads have an impact on viewer retention. When someone new comes to a stream, an ad can discourage them from waiting - and simply close the tab. That hinders growth. However, self-run midrolls (to disable prerolls) may have the same effect...
If we can see the impact that running a dreaded midroll can have on our potential to bring in new viewers - the friction against running ads may be lessened.
So my question: When will there be information on our dashboard analytics on how many people leave during a preroll versus midroll?

Help educate broadcasters on the costs of operating Twitch Effectively educate broadcasters on the monumental costs of operating the quite honestly landmark and cutting edge technology which makes Twitch possible, and the need for ad revenue to compensate, and what happens if the ad revenue does not meet or exceed a certain level. If broadcasters understood that without ads they'd sink with the ship, then maybe they and their viewers wouldn't be so quick to hate ads.

Make the Mid rolls silent and use the smaller picture for them. Pretty much as it says in the title. Interrupting live content is the most patently stupid way of going about this. I suggest the following:
1. Make the forced mid rolls use the smaller picture-by-picture player and make them silent so the stream doesn't need to be muted.
2. Use banner ads instead.
3. Pause the live stream in the background while the ad plays so that viewers don't miss anything.
4. Abandon the idea altogether.
5. Give creators full control of when they play and what ads get played.18 votes -
Suddenly 6 ads before watching streamer - this is feedback not an idea How about a section that isn't about ideas and about direct feedback of experience(s) and or complaints. Before you say, " well if you are going to complain then provide a solution" .. that isn't my job as a user of twitch. I'm also trying to understand who uservoice is since twitch doesn't own uservoice? Here is my feedback and complaint ----> In short , in the last couple days, i went from seeing a single ad before watching the streamer to now, SIX ADS IN A ROW. What is that? It's also disturbing when the arrogant top tier streamers…

Ad-free time for watching adds The idea is that a user could sit and watch adds in return for an amount of ad- free watch time. E.g. I watch the Ads channel for 10 mins and get 2 hours ad-free watch time on other streams
At the moment streamers have no control over number and duration of ads so we have as situation occurring many times where a crucial part of the narrative is in effect deleted by an ad.
On TV we have the situation where "...and the murderer is ... <advert break> .. "The butler!!"
On twitch we are getting "... and the…3 votes -
Ads & clips on mobile When hopping into a stream for the first time you get an ad. There is then some cooldown before you get another ad even if you switch between streams.
On mobile, if you click a link in chat (for example, a clip from something that happened earlier in the stream), it redirects you to a different video player to play the clip.
The only way to return to the stream is to close this new video player, and go find the stream again. This then plays another ad because the clip took you away from the stream.

let mods see when ads are run Allow mods/editors to see when another editor runs an ad. Currently it just says failed to start commercial and you can only see how much time you have left until you can run another ad in the creator dashboard but you have to try and run an ad.

Remove ads entirely from the moderator page. They do more harm than good, when I'm trying to moderate. Especially during technical difficulties and issues with the stream staying connected.
I have to sit through 10-30s of ads every time they get the stream back up, to help diagnose or otherwise let them know what could be the issue. Or having to get the info a second time from them because I didn't hear them when they first came back.
Simply put, they're useless on the mod page, and in some cases, could potentially make the user experience worse because of the lack of communication between streamer and…7 votes
