  1. If someone gifts subs to a channel, they should be able to include a message, much like they can do when they resubscribe to a channel.

  2. SUMMARY
unlike most of the other "chat highlighting" ideas/complaints this idea is for a moderator tool

it would be a button available in Moderator Mode alongside the time out and ban buttons next to each comment in the chat.

The purpose of it is to ensure that other mods and the streamer notice that particular chat.

    USAGE
for the average streamer the most common usage of this would be for one mod to warn other mods to watch a particular person in the chat. maybe that person is "testing the water" by making increasingly escalating comments, but has not "crossed…

  3. Voluntary assistance or hiring of Finnish mods to the twitch as moderators who could put the Chaters obeyed the rules of the service.
One example many still use is the word spm which has been banned for more than half a year

  4. There are some channels discriminating between the audience in the tournaments you perform through live broadcasts on Twitch. People have the freedom to use "God or Jesus" on the chat screen to mean "shocked", right? Why are individuals of different faiths (for exp: members of Islam) subject to a 10-minute ban when they write the word "mashallah" in their own religion on the chat screen? The word mashallah is not a prophet's name but an internationally known as a admiration. Please a show your common sense and anti-segregation behavior on this issue as well. I would like to point out…

  5. Add a clickable timestamp in chat history so moderators can see when a specific message was sent during the stream for more context. Merged with this idea i would like to suggest that moderators or editors can see removed messages in the VOD chat so that they can take proper action when reviewing an unban request.

  7. I've been looking at the way messages refresh in a busy chat channel. All messages are shifted upward every time a refresh takes place, thus, changing their location all the time. This makes it difficult to finish reading messages, as your eyes need to re-adjust constantly to new messages as well as all old messages re-appearing in new places. This is the case, even though messages stay on-screen sufficient time to read them, if only they didn't move.

    So, currently you see:
    message 1
    message 2
    message 3 <--

    followed by
    message 2
    message 3 <--
    message 4

    and:
    message…

  8. Basically, just allow smaller streamers (particularly streamers who haven't reached affiliate) to do things like polls and votes with chat without having to be monetized.

  9. add some type of liking and disliking messages in chat. I feel like this is a good way to make chat experience more interactive. I know I personally prefer to read chat rather than type my own messages (unless I'm spamming) so I think that a good way to allow lurkers to interact more with chat would be some like and dislike feature. someone posts something funny, you can like it. A mod types anything at any time, you can dislike it. probably make it togglable both for streamers and viewers.

I believe this would be a good next step…

  10. Mods shouldn't be chatting personally through out stream. Subscribers should communicate more with the streamer. Anything if the subscriber does inappropriate should be whisper. Mods shouldn't be in chat chatting. Only moderating. Subscribers should have a voice to be heard more. Interactive more.

  11. In a busy stream the chat is completely useless. It is just a wall of emotes.
It would be nice if the chat was mainly texts while emotes could be (optionally) stacked in the video view lower corner. So when something funny happens and people start sending emotes it would be a cool thing to have stacks at the bottom piling up.

  12. BTTV is trash, and the entire community is cringe. I would appreciate it if Twitch allowed users to block their content, as it is not a part of the platform and 3rd party apps should not dominate chat. I would also like to point out that the BOOBA emote is extremely sexist, and only enables children to continue a mindset that has historically oppressed women as sexual objects. Finally, I would like an option to not have animated emojis in Twitch chat, because it is annoying and cringe.

  13. We can follow Twitch channels in which we don't wanna use the chat at all for more passive style (ie: big live events) and others in which the chat is a core part of our experience (ie: small streamers with a tight-knit community).

The current behavior is for the chat to remember the last status between hidden/shown, no matter what channel you are on, I'd like it to be linked to the channel.

    Hey there!

When it comes to seeing people’s names in chat have you tried our ‘readable colors’ setting for chat? It’s located under chat settings > chat appearance > readable colors should be toggle-able. We implemented that so colors in chat would be more accessible for users.

You can find more information about chat here: https://help.twitch.tv/s/article/chat-basics

  15. I would love a Twitch chat with a better performance because when I type something in Chat I have to wait sometimes up to 3 seconds until the message gets sent and I did not ever have the same problem with external chat programs.

  16. Commenters shouldn't have the power to have a channel flagged or worse, the person who commented should have their account penalized so that the community has a cleaner chat due to less people wanting to have their own account held accountable for their own actions

  17. This is a two part idea. Part one is to help viewers in large channels to be able to read and interact with chat better: 'Instanced chat groups' of around 500 chatters each so we can actually read chat in larger streams and it might also make moderating easier if mods could focus on smaller groups. (Mods would have a checkbox list of channel instances to opt into moderating, or be set to "auto assign" which would divide the instances between the active mods.)

And part two is 'VIP chatter' status (not the same as VIP's) which would be a…

  18. I think it would help a lot to reward loyal users to have a few seconds of spotlight after sending a message so they do not get lost amid the chat spam in big channels.

If VIP user sends a message ALL chat messages pause for 5 seconds. Specially for mods... some kind of option to send a "Remarked Message" so maybe it has a 10s chat pause. That way certain information can come across during chat crazyness...
If Tier 3 Sub sends a message all chat messages pause for 3 seconds.
Even 1 second between messages would mean quite…

  19. A suggestion would be to put a temporary icon identifying the user as the stream raider next to their username in the chat of that stream that lasts for several chat messages/set time period and then disappears. This can be used to give extra visibility in the chat for the raiding streamer.

  20. Allow streamers to set their channel to a bit-only chat mode. Streamers can choose how much a message would cost. For example each time a user would send a message it would cost 5 bits.

This would help reduce channel spam.
