  1. The ability to upload any image to the chat of any streamer, which has a sample duration of about 30 seconds, which by default can only be uploaded by the content creator and channel moderators and which has a filter in case obscene things are uploaded. Images from twitter or any platform could also be shown and displayed as the cover of the Clips in the chat.

This could show in the chat, with command, more personalized badges or a random face of any follower / subscriber that the streamer has previously created, without strictly diverting attention from the broadcast.

  3. My suggestion is per-message filtering for the Chat Box based on the first character of the message.

While there is a way to mute users/bots by account name, many chat bots are interactive; the channel owner, moderators and chatters can send commands to the bot through the chat.

For example, a command may be “!ChangeGame Rocket League”, triggering the bot to change the game title to “Rocket League” on Twitch.

In this case, if ‘!’ character could be specified as a command character in the settings and filtered as to not show up in the widget, it would allow streamers…

  4. I would love if Twitch could add something special for pride month! (Apart from the Pride emotes ofc!!!)

So I was thinking, what if we were to add a chat appearance setting to change your name to rainbow during pride month? it would be absolutely adorable and a way for us to all come together as one!

I don’t know if this would be possible, but it’s just an idea!

  5. Hello everyone!

I have an idea that would help me and maybe others to improve the twitch usage a lot by offering a second / optional position of the chat.

IDEA: A optional chat position under the stream with the same width as the stream itself. So the stream can use the full width of the browser and the chat too! Normal and optional chat position via toggle would be great.

The reason why i had this idea:

Normally the chat is on the right side of the stream, which is perfectly fine when using twitch in a browser only.…

  6. I've been looking at the way messages refresh in a busy chat channel. All messages are shifted upward every time a refresh takes place, thus, changing their location all the time. This makes it difficult to finish reading messages, as your eyes need to re-adjust constantly to new messages as well as all old messages re-appearing in new places. This is the case, even though messages stay on-screen sufficient time to read them, if only they didn't move.

    So, currently you see:
    message 1
    message 2
    message 3 <--

    followed by
    message 2
    message 3 <--
    message 4

    and:
    message…

  7. Allow streamers to set their channel to a bit-only chat mode. Streamers can choose how much a message would cost. For example each time a user would send a message it would cost 5 bits.

This would help reduce channel spam.

  8. I would be very grateful if the twitch chat had a line break function. The commands and automatic messages would be easier and more friendly to the viewers.

  9. In a busy stream the chat is completely useless. It is just a wall of emotes.
It would be nice if the chat was mainly texts while emotes could be (optionally) stacked in the video view lower corner. So when something funny happens and people start sending emotes it would be a cool thing to have stacks at the bottom piling up.

  10. We can follow Twitch channels in which we don't wanna use the chat at all for more passive style (ie: big live events) and others in which the chat is a core part of our experience (ie: small streamers with a tight-knit community).

The current behavior is for the chat to remember the last status between hidden/shown, no matter what channel you are on, I'd like it to be linked to the channel.

  11. Some viewers may notice prompts for key community events when chat is closed in web view and theater mode.  This feature lets users know they can participate in these events when chat is not visible.  By selecting the prompt, chat will open automatically and you can choose to participate in the event.  The prompts will not be visible on mobile or when watching in full screen.

This feature is in limited release and we are looking to collect feedback during this time.  We look forward to hearing from you!

    Hey there!

When it comes to seeing people’s names in chat have you tried our ‘readable colors’ setting for chat? It’s located under chat settings > chat appearance > readable colors should be toggle-able. We implemented that so colors in chat would be more accessible for users.

You can find more information about chat here: https://help.twitch.tv/s/article/chat-basics

  13. Very simple, VPNs and TOR / onion routing are routinely weaponized by bad actors such as serial trolls and harassers to effortlessly ban evade Twitch's IP bans, especially when the bar to create new accounts is incredibly low (if not virtually non-existent). The time has come for Twitch to disable these backdoors that enable harassers and does more harm than good. Twitch uses IRC for its chat functionality, and IRC natively supports detection and blocking of these services. (Twitch just has to enable it)

  14. There should be an option on twitch where you can have the chat sidebar smoothly scroll up, rather than move up immediately each time a new message is sent. The current view makes it so hard to follow along, as you have to constantly flick your eyes upward in some of the more quick moving streams.

The new option could speed up/slow down based on how much comment traffic is going on at the moment. Seems like a very easy idea for twitch to implement

  15. Have a Castor chat option to use the arrow key in the chat that allows you to scroll down chat comments 1 at a time. This way you can break away from chat to focus on content and easily pick up were you left off.

  16. Users have no purpose in seeing when a comment has been moderated. The text should not simply have a stamp placed over it that shows everyone it was removed (social embarrassment pressure) but should be removed entirely from chat. It would allow for fewer data transfer to individuals who are performing as expected. It would reduce chat congestion. It would promote better engagement by streamers as they wouldn't have to scope though garbage comments to reply. If the message sender needs to be notified a whisper could be applied to them suggesting their comment was removed. No further information is…

  17. The "Chat Filters" option should be stored server side and global (for all channels) and not just in a cookie. I don't want to disable the filters every time I log in to Twitch and set it for every single channel separately.

  18. It's not really a 'bug' but more of a user experience issue.

When I click emotes in the emote selection drawer, the chat box fills with the text representation, and eventually the chat box auto-lengthens to accommodate increasing amounts of text. The emote I was clicking on has now moved enough pixels away such that if I do not move my cursor to adapt, I click on an unintentional emote. It is annoying to then have to delete a long string due to one single click.

Can we please change the behaviour so the chat box is perhaps static and…

  20. I know many Streamers have Nightbot or other similar services connected to their Stream Chat, but most new users don't know all the possible commands they could use.

One existing solution is that users can type "!commands", but then they are just linked to an external website to see all available commands.

I propose a better solution where once the user types the "!" character, they are given suggestions with commands already existing in the Nightbot.

For example, in TeePee's channel, if you type "!", you should be given suggestions for "!sens", "!triggers", "!loadout", etc, similar to the auto-complete feature…
