Let VPN users participate in chat on channels where they have VIP status I understand that your shadowban on VPN users is probably in place for legitimate reasons (ie. to prevent people from ruining the chat experience for others with spam accounts and whatnot). However, if I am a VIP in someone's channel, it doesn't make sense for Twitch to interfere with my ability to participate in their chat. It's kind of annoying having to disconnect from my VPN just to talk to some of my favorite streamers. I don't think the streamers would want their VIPs to be unable to chat with them either.

Chat responsive emotes A while back i had this bug in my phones chat, wich gives a really cool idea..
The ability to randomly at times, and only thru the animated emotes on the chat, react to sound changing its image for other users emotes.
Too bad we can't add an image or gifs for a best example.
What you guys think?

Basic markdown support - *italic text*,

- etc.
It would be really cool to have. As a streamer and bot dev, the first example that comes to mind might be:
Wrong usage. `!help <topic>` to show help about a specific topic or command.

Reporting Chat Messages via Usercard It would be ideal if Moderators could directly report a specific message in someone's logs without going to their profile, writing up a report and pasting the log through. If we were able to flag individual messages and send a direct report, it'd hopefully ***** down on hateful speech on Twitch.
This being via the usercard would be helpful. It'd also be helpful to see flagged/reported messages on their usercard when they change their username, as Twitch clears their logs but the ban still shows.

timeout it would be good if they gave you a reason why you got timed out so you won't do it again, now they just time you out and don't tell you why so you don't know what you did that deserved the timeout

Chat background color Make the the chat background color a dark shade of purple instead of black and white

Chat alerts The chat box should have the ability to chime a noise once anyone says something like aim used to work years ago. Obviously if you have tons of chatters messages constantly, this would probably be not used but for small streaming channels who get a few messages per stream, it would be great to hear when someone writes in chat rather than constantly having to look at an empty chat for messages.

Fix hyperlinking permanently The idea is simple: it a link doesn't start with "http://" or "https://" or other similar handlers, DO NOT automatically convert it into a hyperlink. Because there are people with a busted space bar that can get unjustly purged because the moderation bot is set to catch any hyperlink.
And on the subject, also make the bot-catching system identify fake links once any has been reported.

Mark (highlight) users who post via API Some users are cheating by using farms of bots to spam their chat. They are doing this to make real viewers visit their stream, because usually viewers are watching channels where "some action" is happening.
Real users and advertisers could see this kind of cheating if bots who post via API were highlighted or somehow marked.2 votes -
Customizable Roles (Like Discord) For affiliates, you can create roles for users. For example, instead of just VIP and Moderator, you can create a role, change it's icon and appearance. (ex: Friends Role.)

Treat 2FA authenticator logins the same as mobile verifications With the new addition of verified users only in chat, you can have an account which is 2FA enabled but still requires a cell phone SMS verification.
This seems non-sensical as 2FA via an authenticator is app technically more secure than SMS verification, however it is not treated as equivalent.2FA via an authenticator app should count as an account as verified the same as SMS.

Allow Incoming Viewers To See Previous Chat Messages I would like to have the ability to enable an option where new viewers to a stream can see previous messages posted in chat. There are times when viewers may come into a chat, but have no context, with what the streamer is discussing as they are unable to see previous messages in chat. Reliable moderator status Currently, moderator status is unreliable. This idea is to have a reliable way to know if I am a moderator¹.
Please provide a reliable message of changes to moderator status ASAP to the affected user. Something along the lines of the standard IRC MODE message—but that isn't affected by the MODE spam tmi tended to generate.
Additionally, have a short grace period (i.e., when excess messages are discarded without resulting in a ban) after moderator status is revoked to account for latency in receiving the updated status.
