  1. Right to the point: I have a stream where i am regular viewer Guild Wars 2 game, but there is a player who plays in competitive scene of that game, known to the streamer i watch and his viewers.

I've been mistaken for that player many times in streamer's twitch chat because of my nickname, which is similar to that player's nickname.

I don't want to change my global nickname because on other streams it's fine, but for that stream alone, where i am constantly mistaken for someone else, i would set some unique nickname.

    I.e. Just like Discord's server…

  2. For affiliates, you can create roles for users. For example, instead of just VIP and Moderator, you can create a role, change it's icon and appearance. (ex: Friends Role.)

  4. So i have been streaming for a little bit now. I really like watching twitch streams from other country's but its hard to talk to them because of language difference. yesterday i was streaming and 12 Korean natives stopped by. They Knew a little English but not enough to type it. it would be cool if chat auto translated so streamers or viewer could read the chat. i wanna know what they are saying in chat when I watch Non English streamers and it might help streamers reach more people

  5. Allow me to disable the sub anniversary reminder permanently. The chat UI allows me to ignore it for a month, but I never want to see it.

  6. I would like to have the ability to enable an option where new viewers to a stream can see previous messages posted in chat. There are times when viewers may come into a chat, but have no context, with what the streamer is discussing as they are unable to see previous messages in chat. There are also times where regular viewers may have to temporarily leave the stream, but then when they return only a little bit later, they are unable to see what was previously posted in chat. I know other streaming services, such as YouTube and Mixer, by…

  8. I know this was a feature previously and I'm still not sure why it was removed with an update. I feel that having multiple chat rooms per channel is extremely useful, particularly for streamers with larger bases. Multiple rooms allow subs, mods, etc. to have their own space to communicate in. This can potentially incentivize some viewers to subscribe and allow mods to communicate without having to use another app such as Discord or Slack regarding real-time issues.

    • *italic text*,
    • **bold text**,
    • `Discord-style inline code` (greetings!),
    • \*escaped, non-italic text\*,
    • \n, new-line (otherwise CTRL+Enter); maybe only allowed for verified bots,
    • etc.

It would be really cool to have. As a streamer and bot dev, the first example that comes to mind might be:

Wrong usage. `!help <topic>` to show help about a specific topic or command.

  9. Too many messages in chat make the stream spammy and makes it hard for streamers to see what is going on.

It also makes it hard for viewers to hold conversations with each-other or even follow what is happening.

If viewers could stay in smaller chat groups, they could hold actual conversations in those groups.

And if those groups could upvote comments, the most-voted comments could be made visible for all users in every group, working like a spam filter in which only the good comments are made visible for everyone, reducing spam drastically.

  10. I really want to change my username color to another custom one, but I can't really afford paying the full price of Twitch Turbo just for that one feature. It would be nice to have the option to pay for that alone for at least a bit less. Of course any other custom change would also need to be paid for.

    Hey there!

Are there specific words you are running into that are constantly blocked? If you could let me know some example sentences that are getting caught my automod I can pass that to the team to review and make sure we are catching things as expected.

    Thanks!

  12. Already back in the golden days of IRC - late 90s, early 2000s, it was common sense for both IRC network operators, and custom bots run to moderate channels, to have built in protections against hateful and disrupting attacks and other common abuse of the service.

These kind of protections would include mitigations against:

    • Mass creation of accounts

    • Trying to connect to the network too many times from one IP

    • Too many joins/messages/similar to a single channel

    • Mass spam from multiple automated or manually operated actors

Twitch should look into the already widely adopted best practices and implement similar practices…

  14. Watchalong streams often have people posting spoilers. Some moderators introduce emote mode, but this prevents discussion.

A solution to this would be a feature to introduce a moderator-controlled delay to the chat. Therefore, people could continue writing comments live, but everyone elsewould get them a bit later (say 5, 10, 20, 30 seconds).

  15. People in chat should be able to upvote chat messages so streamers can connect more with their viewers.
People watching streams often share similar view on gameplay etc.

For example: The streamer clutches a 1v4 situation but ends up dying of fall damage or poison or whatever :P its just an example here!
But then someone in chat types "You missed a healthpack behind that tree" The message gets upvoted and the streamer see's the message and replies "Oh i didnt notice it, thanks i will remember that"

Example: You cannot upvote your own messages because that would just be…

  16. Would be cool a chat group together the normal chat like had a tool or a simple option that could find friends or new peoples to meet

Being this option you enter another chat but in the same stream and with people who can now be your friends

    Ex:
Normal chat -> click a button -> chatgroup( the same stream )

If could draw the idea would be better but i think it be enough

  17. Lets put limits on repeated messages or at least message length, my entire chat experience is ruined due to copy pastas clogging and suffocating any type of interesting conversations going on. It is literally an entire paragraph thats copied and really needs to stop. I would also accept a way to mass block anyone who copy pastas like that. Just sayin, any popular league stream is just copy pasta, salt, toxicity and KEKW. I lose IQ points every time I try to enjoy a stream.

  18. Please, Twitch, I'm begging. Get rid of Emote Only Mode!!! A few emotes are ok, but nothing but emotes is just ridiculous! I go to chat rooms to CHAT not post silly pictures. I want to talk and emote only is a waste of my time.
So just get rid of it. That's all. I hope I'm not the only person who feels this way.

  19. Right now if you block a user and you moderate for a channel that said user is in, you will still see their messages. I have certain users blocked for a reason and me seeing them in chats that I moderate drives me away from the streams. The streamer does not want them banned, so that is not a viable option. I understand that as a moderator your job is to keep an eye on users, but other mods can help out regarding these instances.
