  1. I am seeing, Bot Follows, Bot Hosts and Bot Viewers. I really don't care about the Bot - Viewers - but the Follows and Hosts are creating false hopes and damaging the New Streamer vibe for those wanting to acquire new viewers with their talent/personality/gaming etc. I think some or maybe more of us would Agree that this would be great if we could reduce the number of bots by implementing some sort of identifier or a bot blocker that could be added to ones streams/channel.

  2. Here is the solution for bot raiding and bot following.

    https://prnt.sc/20rpx39

Here is a screenshot from control panel. I think it would be easy to just add one more option for "FOLLOWING / Raiding / Hosting" like you cant follow / raid / host this channel because your account doesnt have at least one month or more from creation

My channel is spanish based language, so excuse me for the spanish language in the screenshot.

  3. Recently (coinciding with the Helix Raids API being released in open beta), the rate limit on "Raid Now" has been increased to 10 per 10 minutes.

Previously this was set to 3 per 30 minutes (and was even abused by hate raiders who found a bypass for this rate limit; now, such a bypass isn't even necessary as a malicious user can do 60 raids per hour instead of just 6).

There is no normal use case I can think of that justifies this high of a rate limit, and it is ripe for abuse: trolls can create accounts…

  4. Channel-following bot attacks seem to be back again. It is quite upsetting when content creators are streaming wether talking with the chat or just playing while they tell viewers how they feel when all of a sudden a bunch of notifications with pretty weird names pop up.

Streamers and viewers know that it is quite difficult to control these attacks considering that they are done every day, at any time. Despite the fact that there are some tools that in one way or another allow us to remove these bots, many of us believe that it would be better to…

  5. Many streamers are currently being flooded by bots. There are no adequate filter mechanisms such as Captcha or other authentication methods that probe the creation of multiple fake accounts.

Twitch should use a secure authentication method for account creation as soon as possible so that so-called bot accounts and fake accounts can no longer be created in the future.

These bots make it unnecessarily difficult for honest streamers to apply for a partnership. In addition, it is almost impossible for streamers to prove that they have not bought or deliberately used any bots such as follower bots.

    Dear community, please…

  6. Hello, there are channels that are used for fraudulent purposes and cleverly disguised as legitimate channels. Please note: ANIZUQ uses streamer MarcoEggebrecht's camera footage, FREYGARET uses AtlantisThief, ramilkaaalimka uses Rykke_, savarsikky uses mrandrejunior, zopapefro uses TimTheDo, toxicLilit uses Niajja and I'd also like to mention shelbyvandal, rinizukay, and terlosawyerhx. All of these channels use follower and viewer boosting, and they all follow the same principle.

  7. Lately, I've been getting a ton of "follows" and "unfollows" from fake accounts that run streams spams or advertising some random malware or whatever it is that they're promoting. It's been consistent every day about 2-3 times a day. Visiting their page they all run the same video feed. And has the same text link on their screen to some external link.

Usually has some "manolia" name in their twitch name. But now starting to notice a wave of different random naming conventions instead.

I suggest that you guys create some sort of detection software that checks for massive follows…

  9. Hey! Just an idea but it would be nice when you go to your "users in chat" section and filter out which one is a bot account vs real viewers.

I know that would probably be difficult to filter, however someone could build some data to find all bot accounts and have them filtered like you would with moderation in chat.

that would make things easier to know whos who and be able to know who is actually viewing the stream vs who isn't.

  10. Twitch currently allows rampant view-botting because the view count includes embedded twitch apps in external websites. This creates a huge imbalance and unfair playing field for streamers who dont cheat.

Nobody watches streams from external websites. They go there for info on any topic and are automatically counted as a viewer. Just think of the ways this can be exploited. I see it all the time on Twitch.

The biggest way people discover streams is by who has the highest view count. This is a critical number that should be honest.

After you fix this part of viewbotting, then we…

  12. Note: this idea includes links to where security vulnerabilities were found because having that knowledge is better for tackling the issue heads on.

I am a mod for AshuriiYuki who got hit with a hate raid and bot follow spam pretty early in her stream on April 19th, 2022. Between AshuriiYuki and her mods, we were able to handle the raid without much incident, though AshuriiYuki is upset over the incident.

As a postmortem: the raid was most likely initiated by nottoggl3d who joined stream and said "wow you're bad". Screen shot of their message included. Immediately thereafter there were…

  13. When we are follow botted we get massive follows within seconds of each other, please mark these in a diffrent color so if we want we can remove them manually or ban them easily. This alone will help build up a tracking system with twitch being able to ID the main user name as it will appear the most and ban it to help others with being spammed.

  14. I have been streaming today, I got raided by a real streamer but they had BOTS in their stream and now they have come into my stream and sending me over 100 followers non stop over on my page and it will not stop. I am not happy about this and wish to have something done, I was originally at 1,804 followers and now I am all the way at 2300+ it is A JOKE. This twitch needs to prevent this from happening. I do not want fake followers or bots in my stream, throughout my whole stream and continuing…

  15. I have been thinking about an easy way to ban multiple banned users on multiple channels. I am thinking especially of names that violate the guidelines or are known to be bot accounts. Especially with regard to followbot and chatbot attacks.
A Simple Txt-file that you can export and import would be enough.

  16. Dear Twitch,

Anything to be done to defend against "Art Scam" bots that attack newer streamers, I'll be minding my own business in stream and all of a sudden, there'll be a "Hey there" and then for the next couple of minutes they'll try and act like a real viewer, only to ask for your discord, where they'll show you their portfolio, which ends up being bad, or copy and paste graphics.
I haven't gotten as far as that because I realised quickly what was happening.
If this has already been flagged and is being dealt with, I apologise, but…

  17. the bots are now using versions of English looking letters to bypass being able to auto ban them. could we remove the non English fonts from stream use please? so they cannot come in changing just one letter and getting past our auto mods. in fact sadly twicth needs to ban certain combinations of words like cheap viewers and best viewers in all font variations, the bots hope you'll accidentally click the link as the host and they can get in and steal your account if your virus programs are not able to catch them. its a serious safty concern…

  18. The current wave of harassment bots mass generate accounts seconds before they follow, typically making accounts and following sequentially so that their usernames read out as a torrent of abuse.
It is clear that automation is used to create these accounts and command them to follow. It should not be possible to create accounts with automation.
    Therefore do the following things:
Implement recapture or other real human authentication method for account creation.
IP block for account creation on the same IP within an hour.
Introduce a feature to Shield Mode that prevents unverified accounts from being able to follow at…

  19. Hire proffessional coders to fix the botting issue. There should be a bot in everyones chat that can detect a hate raid or bot attack and stop it. Streamers shouldnt have to rely on sery_bot and commanderroot to feel safe especially when, alot of the time, unfortunaley those are not enough. Twitch itself needs to step up and do something about the serious bot problem on their website, not send their users automated messages when they try to report the problem.

  20. Hello Twitch and other readers

unfortunatly many bot-accounts are around and new one are creating at the moment. Some friends, other streamers are targeted with attacks with bot-accounts.

They have something to do from your side twitch, specially that some Bots have tools to get the IP from people who visit the Accountpage ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdyBV3Zoa0Y ) should be a signal for u to investigate fast as possible.

In the last few days/weeks i experience that hoss00312 are around i followed (and unfollowed) me with multiple accounts.
What do you suggest to do, when people experience something like that? I know…
