Do not use Persona for face ID verification
This is regarding newer affiliate sign-ups being made to face-verify through Persona, and not k-ID.
This is extremely unsafe for a number of reasons, chiefly being Persona can be compelled by the Patriot act to share that information with the US government - they are willfully doing so as a given already, as is OpenAI, to cross-reference the facial identifications with financial transactions.

This puts any US-residing users in danger, as well as anyone visiting the US. Under ICE and the current administration, a five year old boy(Liam Conejo Ramos) was detained. A one month old infant (Juan Nicolás) was detained and not released until he was two months old with bronchitis - even that involved deportation. Due process to release anyone detained in cases where it was erroneous does not work, even then it stalls to the point the individual can be left ill from subpar conditions.
Whilst I 'get' k-ID don't have the same financial cross-reference for a user receiving money you cannot possibly think that this is safe? An amazon-owned couldn't find an alternative?
This is not keeping children safe, this compliance putting your userbase in danger.
We appreciate your concern here. We use a number of tools to verify a person’s identity when processing payments to them. To be clear, this is different from age verification, and we don’t use Persona for that.
Only a small number of Affiliates go through Persona, representing a small percentage, single digit. Persona is just one of a wider list of tools, and we use it very infrequently. This has been the case for years.
