Sensitive social issues Bullet points need to be removed, not 'clarified'
it doesn't matter how much you 'clarify' the point of the final two bullets, they are not fit for the political category especially when contrasted with the other things in the category. Putting peoples rights in there opens up marginalized groups to hate and bigotry. We want the points REMOVED and twitch's response is completely missing the point the community has been making.
At what point does something go from 'personal experience' to 'too political'? if a streamer talks about their own right to an abortion being taken away where they live, is that personal experience or political? it is entirely subjective. Is a trans person talking about their experiences with HRT 'fact based'? Who determines this? The bigots who will undoubtedly mass report said streamers to shut them up?
"intermittent mentions of (...) sensitive social issues are not required to have the politics and sensitive social issues label" how long is intermittent? most streamers i watch like to have small conversations with chat about social issues, how long can these chats go on for?
I don't understand why you refuse to just take out the 'Sensitive social issues' point. It's what the user base is asking you to do and it is the right thing to do.

Remove the language about LGBTQIA+ topics entirely. This new "response" completely sweeps our concerns under the rug. You are providing a system where it will be entirely subjective whether my streams get demonetized for me speaking to my lived experience as a queer person. If my rights are actively being taken away and I do anything to state my displeasure at those trying to actively harm me, under your new rules, someone could report my stream as being controversial. You are opening up queer streamers to mass reporting over speaking about lived experiences, reports which you will have to comb through while putting the revenue of queer creators on hold. You are normalizing a notion that advocating for your own rights is controversial, which is a disgusting take. I do not trust your moderation team to comb through and distinguish actually controversial content and what has rubbed a mass-reporting troll the wrong way. Remove these bullet points. While it is clear you are responding to recent pressures from the statements of a few creators of the platform, this response will only harm your business and my community. I have spent thousands of dollars on Amazon, hundreds on Twitch, and am fully prepared to pull my business from every branch of your enterprise. This ends now.

You've clarified that I can talk about personal experiences. That much is good.
But here's the thing.
- Can I do a fundraiser stream for a trans-centric charity?
- Am I even allowed to talk about how I'm sick of oppression against queers?
- Can I put pride flags anywhere or is that too much of a political statement?
- Can I even say "trans pride"?
- If I show support for any queer community, is that too far?The only reason these are considered political is because the hateful right makes them political. Even lumping in LGBTQ+ rights is conceding that our right to exist is a worthy debate. It's giving in to an extent during a time when our very existence is under attack. We can't afford any concession.
Take this seriously. Don't just close the issue again and make a small statement on Twitter. (By the way, Twitter is a right-wing site run by someone trying to buy Trump votes. Maybe make a frigging Bluesky account already?)

This is a PR bandaid and not only changes nothing regarding the implementation and enforcement of the policy, it actively ignores nearly 33,000 voices who very clearly said it's a policy that will negatively affect the safety of marginalized streamers. To close the previous thread without allowing for further discussion and engagement is actively stifling those voices, many of whom shared their lived experience as marginalized streamers in the very comments of the previous petition. At this point, Twitch needs to remove this language and explain themselves, because their actions seem to be saying that their main goal is protecting the speech of the oppressor rather than the oppressed.

Good job on completely ignoring our concerns and failing to take action.
These changes are still worded intentionally vaguely, and will be weaponised as this petition states.
Your failure to even attempt to fix this issue will not be forgotten, and failure to act on it now will likely result in a mass exodus of LGBTQ+ streamers.

As my partner just asked me: "doesn't the wording sound like you're allowed to set up a stream "to make the queers mad" and all you have to do is mark it as sensitive social issues?"
That 5th bullet point still needs to be removed, and this is coming from someone who was celebrating the "win" a few hours ago but is now going "this is is still objectively a loss for us and we an't let it continue."

I see twitch has failed to grasp that "people's lived experiences" are "polarizing and inflammatory" for those who are already polarized and inflamed about the mere existence of minorities, and that while our existence shouldn't be inherently political, the reality on the ground is that it is highly politicized.
this clarification will still be abused, and that section still needs to be removed. -

Indeed, no amount of clarification will curb abuse of your report system by bad actors.
Everything else is bad enough, but that's the truly untenable part of this.

So you answered questions and concerns… by creating more questions and concerns?
Forgive me if im wrong, but a clarification is supposed to unmuddy the water and align doubts and suspicions in an effort to make everything easy to follow and understand… correct?
This only raises more red flags, draws more problem than it does solution and frankly just creates more anger and strife for all the people within your user base. To say that we can discuss our lived experiences without label but then say we need to label when discussing non neutral opinions of legislations that actively harm and affect us… well frankly its a double edged blade. We are getting cut down no matter which way we swing. Hundred of thousands of people are begging you to remove this gray area bullet point and all youve done is darken your margin. Please
Do and be better.

I'm still not using twitch until it's removed! Thankfully I can watch the streamers I like on other platforms anyway.

For what it's worth, I do appreciate an attempt to clarify what is being said. But the core isn't that people do not understand your points. The issue is that your points, by their nature, create problems which can be exploited to harass marginalized communities and create a de facto hurdle for them to navigate. Please, I implore you to take this opportunity to take a stand, prove you can be an ally, and work to remove toxic, hateful voices from your platform. Hate should not have a voice at the table when we discuss what is best for us all.

People aren't political labels, don't marginalise those who are already oppressed. People's rights to non-harmful self-expression is not to be mandated by any higher monetary position of power. It's not political discussion, it's the rights and safety of other people.
Remove those final two bullet point immediately, you monsters.

This is the platform where you can be an advocate and cause positive social change. If you cave to the crybullies then you're just as bad as them.

I think it'd be better to remove these points then to try clarify them like this.

This entire clarification brings up more questions than answers. Actively talking about our lived experience, and the potential legislative issues or other such events could breach over into your other bullet points. We need these bullet points removed, not "clarified" into muddy water. Please Twitch.

If your systems remain fully automated with no way to circumvent an erroneous, bad faith strike against accounts who get hate-raided, then you have no business even leaving these two bullet points in - clarification or not. We all know that the loophole will exist to be exploited by bad actors so just do us all a favor and close it!
You're a streaming platform, if you want everyone to be welcome to use it you need to make sure that Sockpuppets Georg who has 10,000 accounts under the same IP address can't just ruin the established account of every LGBTQIA+ streamer.
We recognize that you have advertisers and credit card companies to appease, but whoever wrote those bullet points HAD to have known that to a fascist, a trans person or a POC existing is a sensitive political issue, which is why those bullet points need to go away.

If Twitch becomes the new Twitter, I won't cry when there's a mass exodus to a new platform.
Look at how quickly BlueSky got popular from users leaving Twitter, an established social media site. You're not the exception, Twitch.
Either protect us marginalized folk or expect to lose so many people to another streaming site. Your choice, Twitch.
