Sensitive social issues Bullet points need to be removed, not 'clarified'
it doesn't matter how much you 'clarify' the point of the final two bullets, they are not fit for the political category especially when contrasted with the other things in the category. Putting peoples rights in there opens up marginalized groups to hate and bigotry. We want the points REMOVED and twitch's response is completely missing the point the community has been making.
At what point does something go from 'personal experience' to 'too political'? if a streamer talks about their own right to an abortion being taken away where they live, is that personal experience or political? it is entirely subjective. Is a trans person talking about their experiences with HRT 'fact based'? Who determines this? The bigots who will undoubtedly mass report said streamers to shut them up?
"intermittent mentions of (...) sensitive social issues are not required to have the politics and sensitive social issues label" how long is intermittent? most streamers i watch like to have small conversations with chat about social issues, how long can these chats go on for?
I don't understand why you refuse to just take out the 'Sensitive social issues' point. It's what the user base is asking you to do and it is the right thing to do.

LGBT people's personal experiences should not be considered "too political". LGBT people's identities should not be considered "too political". The same for any other marginalized group. Those minority groups should be treated the same as the majority & have the same privilege to share their identity & experiences.

I swear Twitch makes the most boneheaded decisions. There are several topics that can not have a "neutral" point especially in today's political climate. Hence why we want it removed. The clarification only further proved suspicions that it wasn't thought out because talking about lived experiences will go to advocacy real fast because - shocker- people want to live.
But we'll see if Twitch closes this poll without listening to us again.

The line between "personal experience" and "polarizing" is undefinable. I, as a queer person, should not have to label my content as "political" because I don't want to interact with people who would rather see me dead than happy. My friends who are POC should not have to label their content as "political" because they talked about an experience with racism while a racist was in their chat.
This phrasing was vague to begin with and is still vague now. It exists entirely to be exploited by people who don't want queer people and people of color on this website. And as long as that bullet point exists, I'm convinced that includes Twitch staff themselves.
Remove it entirely. Peoples' simple existence is not something that needs a warning.

The clarification you guys gave is STILL too vague and puts targets on the lgbt and marginalized groups of Twitch. Groups that already deal with bots, harassment, and spam reports pretty consistently compared to other creators. Actually listen to all of us creators telling you this, don't hand wave a clarification away, get people with sensitivity training, get actual lgbt folks on your crew and listen to us. We're not going away, we're not gonna be silenced and let this sweep under the rug.

While it's great that there is new clarifications, the guidelines can still be weaponised towards marginalised individuals and are still too vague. I understand that the guidelines are there for protection against extreme content, but these guidelines are fundamentally harmful towards marginalised individuals when our entire existence is political.
Not to mention this will severely impact charity fundraising on Twitch as a whole as so many causes that people raise money for would be considered a "sensitive social issue" and so streams would be impacted by needing the tag. It's already tough to lose income as a direct result of fundraising, and the tag would demonetize streams and reduce discoverability further. -

The clarification doesn’t even address the concerns people have. How can you determine what is a lived experience vs. sharing too much and needing a label? It’s far too vague, and I believe this label will only open marginalized creators up to more harassment and mistreatment, instead of protecting us from it. Please listen.

I hope the investor who thinks these bullet points are a good idea, yes you specifically, sees this so I can call you a moron.
And I sincerely hope you're a moron, cuz the alternative is that you're a terrible person.

Advocacy and my own life experience are not "sensitive social issues." If someone has an issue with me being myself, that is their problem. Don't try to sweep me under the rug and pretend I don't exist. Do the right thing, remove the bullet point. Don't try to appeal to the nazis and phobes. They'll only drag your platform down.

Clarification was never the problem. Those bullet points are, AT BEST, problematic in that they'll invite bad actors to mess with a WHOLE BUNCH of already marginalized people, and AT WORST, active censorship.
Be better.

Twitch would rather toss LGBTQIA+ people under a bus and join with the bigots to run them over personally than lose advertisers. Your hearts are as dark as the night sky.
By the way, where are the online pseudoleftists who allegedly care so much about us? The ones who couldn't help but antagonize the bigots and push them over the edge into furthering their hate campaign that resulted in this change. Where are they now?

The 'clarification' tweet completely missed the point. LGBTQ+ people existing is not a sensitive social issue, and saying otherwise is (intentionally or unintentionally) repeating homophobic and transphobic rhetoric.
Clarifying that streamers will still be able to talk about their lived experience is woefully inadequate and still leaves a lot up to interpretation. The sensitive social issues label can and will be used by bigots to harass LGBTQ+ streamers and allies.
Remove the bullet points.

Twitch, we're not going to stop yelling at you for this nonsense until it is gone. You can't just rewrite it and hope we forget you're doing something gross.

You ain't beating the 'we hate human rights' allegations with this. Stop being a whiny brat and remove this entirely. Wanting to live as a human without this kind of **** isn't political; it's basic human decency.

My existence is not political. By classifying it as such Twitch is siding with bigots against marginalized groups. The new policy is hateful and discriminatory and needs to be removed.

Unacceptable. Remove the bullet point and publicly recognize you are full of it.
We ask for the smallest crumb of human decency and you throw a hissy fit and try to dodge it.Pathetic.
