Sensitive social issues Bullet points need to be removed, not 'clarified'
it doesn't matter how much you 'clarify' the point of the final two bullets, they are not fit for the political category especially when contrasted with the other things in the category. Putting peoples rights in there opens up marginalized groups to hate and bigotry. We want the points REMOVED and twitch's response is completely missing the point the community has been making.
At what point does something go from 'personal experience' to 'too political'? if a streamer talks about their own right to an abortion being taken away where they live, is that personal experience or political? it is entirely subjective. Is a trans person talking about their experiences with HRT 'fact based'? Who determines this? The bigots who will undoubtedly mass report said streamers to shut them up?
"intermittent mentions of (...) sensitive social issues are not required to have the politics and sensitive social issues label" how long is intermittent? most streamers i watch like to have small conversations with chat about social issues, how long can these chats go on for?
I don't understand why you refuse to just take out the 'Sensitive social issues' point. It's what the user base is asking you to do and it is the right thing to do.

The solution to bigots is to use moderation tools to remove them from the platform. Further marginalizing an already oppressed group of people so that most of the platform cannot easily find them is not the solution you think it is and only says a lot about your opinions on LGBTQIA+ folks.

It is so grossly apparent that these changes are coming AFTER Donald Trump(a partnered account) streamed his rallies and AsmonGold(partnered account) spouted incredibly harmful and inflammatory comments at best and at worst advocated for genocide. Asking people to mark streams as sensitive for advertisers is so insidious when it includes discussing literally every protected class. Even if Queer, POC, Disabled, etc. streamers complied with these labels, we are all WELL aware how hard an impact our discoverability takes when using them. Streamers are forced into the corner, further ostracizing us, simply for following the rules.
It makes no sense. Twitch slaps a nazi on the wrist and reinstates his account after 3 days, despite proudly broadcasting hatred to thousands of people, but if a queer person goes on a long winded rant about how they were harassed because of their existence they'll be subject to reprimand. This is embarrassing.
This will also be so incredibly enforced, like most moderation on twitch. If a streamer is reported for a CCL violation, they will be automatically punished for it, despite the validity of the report. This opes marginalized people up for even greater vulnerabilities, further proving twitch does not care about queer people, gender diverse people, people of color, or disabled people. Unless we are profitable, we will not be protected.

Seeing that Politics affects everyone, I can toss my two cents in here.
When the original version of the policy dropped I noticed that it DID need a revision, as parts of it were unclear. However, after the revision and clarification, the rule makes sense.
Seeing that politics and personal experiences are two separate things, it makes sense to keep them separate, as while one affects the other, you don't NEED one to speak on the other.
Political conversation is talking and discussing the political SIDE of the issue, not the personal. It is possible to share your personal side of an issue, subject, or topic, AND keep it on a personal level.
The political conversation talks about the government, while personal stories and Life experiences are all about you. You don't need one to promote the other, as you can just start talking about Politics right from the jump.
I think the main issue here is that the bullet points suggest that you don't need the label if you are speaking on or coming from a personal viewpoint, which conflicts with the intention of other streamers against the bullet point: to combine the personal/emotional side with the political side to engage the political discussion.
That approach has been demonstrated by Frogan (Banned), as that resulted and led to inflammatory statements, outbursts, and ill-intended comments and threats.
It makes sense to have a policy to keep these two things separate, so no other streamer makes that same mistake.
It's fine to talk about your life experiences - I have done so before on my streams, and not once did I ever make any of it political. It makes sense to use the label if politics might become a subject that the streamer and their chat might get into and the label helps with that.

Twitch needs to understand that "inflammatory" is subjective, and this clarification only clarifies that people are able to be targeted on that subjective basis. Saying gay people deserve rights is inflammatory to bigots, and if bigots decide to report a gay person for saying "I am a human being and I deserve rights" without this label then they are accurately reporting someone for "discussing sexuality in a polarizing or inflammatory manner" under these ******** rules.
Like, that's the only thing that this enables. It doesn't prevent hate speech, because 1) people engaging in hateful conduct towards minorities aren't going to voluntarily label themselves with the "Hey, please scrutinize my conduct in the context of sensitive social issues more closely" label, and 2) any hateful speech towards any of these groups that this label would apply to is already prohibited under ToS. If Twitch were trying to restrict hate speech, they would focus on enforcing those rules. This label only puts marginalized people between a rock and a hard place - either you apply the label, opening yourself up to be targeted by bigots who want to try to goad you into saying something "inflammatory" that they can report, or you don't apply the label and risk a bigot deciding to report you for failing to label yourself if you ever so much as make a joke like "So-and-so says gay rights!"
The whole label is stupid. Create a "Politics & Commentary" category if that's something you actually want to keep separate from the general Just Chatting category, but this label does nothing to help good actors on Twitch and has significant potential to hurt them.

All the clarification has done is caused queer, female, and BIPOC streamers to walk on eggshells while discussing issues that directly affect their lives so as to not cross an arbitrary line Twitch has drawn in the sand.
Discussions of civil rights aren't "controversial" or "sensitive", it is unconscionable to suppress them behind a mature content filter.

its really not understandable how you treat our debt by trying to close it, and disregard the concerns. its not about how you word your classification. its the whole thing.
i have a better idea:
how about twitch is focusing their energy to protect us from misanthropes and hatred, by hiring more content moderators? human rights are not worth of any discussion. and we dont care about your advertising partners. if they dont support creators, who speak about human rights, then maybe you should search for other partners. that would be awesome. -

Not removing those bullet points just puts me ever closer to abandoning Twitch. Between this and the way the site handles Vtubers in comparison to irl streamers has put a lot of tension with me and it's telling me a lot about the sites priorities.

Labelling LGBTQ+ as political is a tactic to make a group of people seem like a controllable matter that can be swept away. It removes the human aspect of the entire reality. It is erasure of human history throughout time that LGBTQ+ has always existed in any society and will continue to do so.
The classification of it as political has happened many times through history to try to eliminate it, if not politics, but belief trying to mark them as undesirables and less than human.
LGBTQ+, just like many examples in nature outside of humans, is entirely natural. The lack of cultivation and education is what results in either or both sides of heteronormality and LGBTQ+ always being at odds.
The movement uses political means to try to secure safety but these people are not a figment of politics. LGBTQ+ has always existed and forever will. These are people fighting for fair treatment and the ability of betterment. This is not a category that can be managed. These people want to stop being erased, as they are that, people.
The understanding here is that by categorizing people like this, you are trying to limit their impact on normality and restrict them. These people live their lives every day as people, they are just as normal as everyone else. Every person is their own blend, every normal is different to each person, but this is denying them from being allowed to be seen as normal.

Twitch, we don't want psychopaths being given a stick to hit anyone who doesn't fit their category of "non political". Please just remove this.

All this does is open up minority streamers to being falsely mass-reported by bigots for talking about their lived experiences or even sharing neutral facts (which it seems Twitch is ignoring the fact that bigots typically try to claim facts that don't suit their agenda are "opinions" and they will likely try to report minority streamers over this).

i should not have to be a “model minority”. my existence as a trans person is not political and i should be able to discuss this without labeling my streams as political.

Why clarify when you could do the simple thing and remove it completely. LGBTQ+ are people living their lives, not a social issue. Why should we be held back from discussing our identity?

Human rights is NOT a political issue or something that is a “sensitive social issue”. Adding your “clarification” does NOT solve the problem. Remove the bullet point entirely.

How does LGBTQ+ fit into these guidelines? It's not a social issue. It's an individual issue for people who take offence in people, who only want to express themselves in a harmless way. Members of that community just want to be allowed to talk freely just like everyone else.
Focusing more on what the guidelines say, the goal is to label streams that focus on discussion of the in the article mentioned topics? So what is the line exactly? If a streamer is just chatting with their chat and ends up talking about LGBTQ+ topics for two hours, is that a focused discussion? Or does that still count as intermittent as it wasn't the focus when the streamer went live?
If you still decide that LGBTQ+ is a social issue, make CLEAR LINES of what needs to be labeled. You know... It's supposed to be a guideLINE not a guide-vague-interpretative-area.

I don't any streamer who is in the LGBTQIA+ community who wouldn't talk about the issues they have if legitimate questions came up in chat, none of them are going to turn around and say they can't answer the question because they haven't labelled that stream as political. This then leaves open to being reported under this system.
