I am a user from Taiwan we need freedom of speech
Hi Twitch, I'm from the Republic of China (ROC) you commonly call "Taiwan". Recently, your censorship of Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese makes me very angry. I know you have to filter the corresponding text, But it is by no means such a dictatorial regime's speech policy as what you commonly call the "China" Communist Party of China (CCP).
"China is not the only one who uses Chinese in this world."
"What you are doing now is like China's literary prison."
Maybe the world shouldn't use hate speech or words to attack each other, but Taiwan has long been, and even still is, living in fear under the Chinese Communist Party's literary attack and martial arts.
Besides, "Twitch cannot be used in China at all". What you should protect are Taiwanese users who have been using Twitch for a long time. You should give us back the freedom of speech we deserve, instead of using authoritarian and hegemonic text policies to protect China.
To sum up, I have a few requests
Twitch should not help the evildoers. Twitch should not use "autoban" to protect the dictatorship. Users of "Traditional Chinese" should decide whether to install it or not.
It is extremely unreasonable for the live broadcast host to be "BAN" for the audience's behavior in the chat room. We demand that this weird system be abolished.
Whoever set up the censorship in the speech censorship system currently used by Twitch should thoroughly investigate his identity, whether there is any hatred of Taiwan, and return users to a safe and secure environment.
Sex-related speech is a witty way of use among traditional Chinese users. It should not be directly banned by the Twtich system, and each live broadcaster should decide for himself
Above, I love the Twitch platform very much, and I hope you can hear the real voice.

The Auto-BAN issue troubles every single user in Taiwan, including streamers and viewers. Viewers didn't know what they type in chat make them banned, so they rather not type a thing in chat, and don't want subscribe or cheering anymore. Streamer can't do anything with a low attempted chat. There will be less traffic of Taiwan's stream market if the issue stands for a long period. So please review this issue and fix things up!

1) please let STREAMER to decide who to ban
2) if your auto mod is causing mass reports banning our regular viewers, REVIEW THEIR APPEALS AND UNBAN THEM.
3) you cannot based off a ban and assume typing **** or **** is WITHOUT CONTEXT. false reports does not give twitch contexts.
4) FALSE REPORTS should have consequences.

Hi Sir/Madom :
Sorry, this is from a little voice from Taiwan. The most Twitch users like do some comminicate actions in the chat room. Those actions will be interesting words and nicknames. Why I post this sugguestions? Because this moments, some audiences had been autotbanned who use traditional Chinese nickanme or type some homophonic words. Those nicknames and words had been judged by system are uncomfortable. But who will feel uncomfortable, actually? The audiences in the chat room or whistleblower? No, the chanel owner will feel unforfortable .I think some nicknames are malicious but the most who love channel owners.I know you got some feedback from some channel owners, so you draw up this policy and make the system to help it .I knew the autobanned by system is a quick solution to solve this problems. But ,please .that is a dangerious, it makes you lost audiences who really like this plateform. You can set policy when user named his/her nickname and relase this right to channel owner. Please don't autobanned by system or some whistleblower. The chat room communicte with channel owner not Twitch official or whistleblower .Because they are not really uncomfortable guys. What Twich need to judge? I think is channel contents what he/she play, talk,do,share?

Totally agreed!
Someone even got auto-ban from saying "Taiwan is an independent country" because somehow this is "hate speech"? toward who? China?
This issue is very serious right now, if Twitch do nothing about this, there will be no speech freedom in Twitch (in Taiwan). I hope US people still stand with basic freedom and human rights.
Twitch should really consider who is managing the Traditional Chinese market because to me he/she is racist toward Taiwanese.
I'm also one of the streamer who don't mind me or my audience do dirty jokes (in fact I really like, and I'm the one who do the most). I only ban audience when they attack someone on purpose because to me I can take any jokes.
Please fix this. At least let us choose if we want to use the auto-ban system!
We love Twitch, but we do NOT want to become China! -

Twitch really need to work on the censorship keyword database for Chinese Users. Sometimes One chinese character word can have multiple meaning. Not to mention there are some words share similar pronunciation. Due to the 2 examples above, there are some users using these loop holes set up baits or traps to lure streamer and viewer to tricker the censorship system.
I believe Twitch can do a better job and provide more support to users who suffer in these type of censorship traps.

I really agree with you, especially the thired point "Whoever set up the censorship in the speech censorship system currently used by Twitch should thoroughly investigate his identity... ". It let me feel unconfortable to enjoy the stream in Twitch. Accordding to the ban words /phrases, and the understanding of Chinese culture, we can tell the ban prashes are specically for China government to control people. Please let traditional Chinese users free from the controll of China.
My English is not great. I tried my best to express. Hope Twitch can seriouly treat this strange ban words issue, please! -

As a long time user and a streamer from Taiwan, we need to say, the Auto-Ban function is causing a big problem in Taiwan especially these days.
The forum in Taiwan is discussing with this issue and we've found there's some problem for Auto-Ban.
1. User is banned but don't know the reason. Lots of banned user even confused what word have the bad meanings before they got banned. They're just chatting with other viewers and streamers as usual.
2. The Auto-Ban rules is unreasonable. For example, saying PY and get 7 days banned with no reason, or saying is the streamer going to be controlled on bed ( And they're just chatting for some paranormal phenomenon ) but also get banned.
3. The word related to China is banned for most. As Taiwan have very complex political problem with China, there's some word we're using to describe or chat in our conversation. Like Chi-Na type in chinese, or some historical event. And all of these just got banned in these days.
4. As localization, some words is not illegal but allow to say in Taiwan. This would not occur criminal or other problem related to law. Just like english users is using "Shoot", "Darn", "What the heck" to replace some word. Chinese users would also use some words to replace some dirty word. But these replace words is also got banned in Auto-Ban system.
For these items, we want Twitch could help to fulfill these things.
1. Have user know what word would be banned. And this word list need to be update by the user in its own country. As the banned word list is used on Taiwan users, this list should be managed by Taiwan Admin.
2. If the problem is related to ID, twitch should warning at first to let users to change the ID for once.
3. If the Auto-Ban system is not complete as expected. Twitch should STOP THE AUTO-BAN SYSTEM IMMEDIATELY until it get better.
As we've used Twitch for a long time ( even begin with Justin's years ), we all want Twitch could be better. But Auto-Ban issue is just letting all the Taiwan users feel exhausted. Chat culture is very important for Taiwan users / streamers. If all the users need to worried for being banned with no reason, the users / streamers may consider to abandon Twitch but move to other Streaming Platform. It's also what we don't want to see.
So please, as we're worried about Auto-Ban issue in Taiwan, Twitch should do something to have the system better. Thanks at first for your great help.

Beloved Twitch,
I am a user from Taiwan, a small but important country in Asian area. Recently, several ridiculous banning actions have taken place in our community. Lots of Taiwanese users are banned due to the new hate-speech censorship policy, which contains a great number of texts that are particularly violating against the regulation of Chinese government instead of the ones of Taiwanese government. This really upsets nearly all the users from Taiwan, who has a decent freedom of speech.
I understand that you are aiming to prevent all possibilities of hate speech, and you have been committed to achieving the peaceful atmosphere suitable for everyone. However, Chinese language, more specifically--Chinese characters, is not only used by Chinese people but also Taiwanese, and whether to apply this “autoban” to Taiwanese users or not should be decided by these certain uses of Traditional Chinese; by the way, people in the land of China are not supposed to use Twitch anyway.
I sincerely hope that you take this issue seriously. Taiwan is a wonderful place where many spectacular and creative streamers and users who love this platform live. Besides, what makes this tiny island so special is the unique liberty and democracy which is different from China. The hate-speech-censorship system is supposed to protect those who are likely to be hurt from those speech instead of certain authority.
We have been loving and using this platform to share and exchange moments in lives for years. To be honest, this policy is sensitive to everyone who love Taiwan. Twitch giving in to this China-oriented policy is the least thing we ever want to see. Please give back the freedom that ought to belong to us and listen to the real voice from we people in Taiwan.

I am a streamer from Taiwan and at the same time a viewer.
Twitch Chat auto-ban has recently incorporated hundreds of words, some words have certain uses in certain situations which is a part of chat interaction, it isn’t intended to be hateful or discriminatory, more so some are banned simply by declaring Taiwan sovereignty or mentioning the current state of Chinese politics.
As a democratic country, users in Taiwan shouldn’t be subjected to speech censorship, this not only causes the unique live-streaming culture to completely disappear from Twitch, but it is also suspected of suppressing Taiwan’s sovereignty and it reduces users' willingness to continue supporting Twitch.
I ask Twitch to immediately revise the audit content of the auto-ban bot and return the power and choice of chat management back to the streamers.

Why Taiwan's chat review is too weird to type so many simple words like "Tank" or something else , I mean , the Autoban is ban too much about some common words in Taiwan , I wonder how ? many people even cannot type in chat because they're words might be ban with no reason .

Autoban in Taiwan is a complete mess, someone type tank in chat and get banned. Guess I shouldn't play world of tanks.
Now people are abusing report system so lots of people in Taiwan get banned. -

What is happening to Chinese Chat? Is there some kind of the Chinese Communist Censorship happening? People get banned just because of mentioning the Chinese Communist Party in chat.
