I am a user from Taiwan we need freedom of speech
Hi Twitch, I'm from the Republic of China (ROC) you commonly call "Taiwan". Recently, your censorship of Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese makes me very angry. I know you have to filter the corresponding text, But it is by no means such a dictatorial regime's speech policy as what you commonly call the "China" Communist Party of China (CCP).
"China is not the only one who uses Chinese in this world."
"What you are doing now is like China's literary prison."
Maybe the world shouldn't use hate speech or words to attack each other, but Taiwan has long been, and even still is, living in fear under the Chinese Communist Party's literary attack and martial arts.
Besides, "Twitch cannot be used in China at all". What you should protect are Taiwanese users who have been using Twitch for a long time. You should give us back the freedom of speech we deserve, instead of using authoritarian and hegemonic text policies to protect China.
To sum up, I have a few requests
Twitch should not help the evildoers. Twitch should not use "autoban" to protect the dictatorship. Users of "Traditional Chinese" should decide whether to install it or not.
It is extremely unreasonable for the live broadcast host to be "BAN" for the audience's behavior in the chat room. We demand that this weird system be abolished.
Whoever set up the censorship in the speech censorship system currently used by Twitch should thoroughly investigate his identity, whether there is any hatred of Taiwan, and return users to a safe and secure environment.
Sex-related speech is a witty way of use among traditional Chinese users. It should not be directly banned by the Twtich system, and each live broadcaster should decide for himself
Above, I love the Twitch platform very much, and I hope you can hear the real voice.
I completely agree, i was stopped from posting for replying to someones post with a question mark?? These moderators are terrible people. I havent used twitch for months..
is there still not a freedom of speech i heard that circumstances get worse day by day even no sports or schooling independently allowed you should have to update on https://www.mt-spot.com/
The reason for the punishment is public or private chat messages, but I have not used any violations of the rules, and my account will be gone as soon as I wake up
Twitch's automated moderation system for moderating speech has been a source of controversy due to its inconsistent standards for different languages, its vague decision-making process, and its lack of transparency. In recent times, the system's erratic operation has led to the banning of many seasoned and high-value users, causing a great deal of anxiety and panic among the platform's Chinese-speaking(traditional) users.
One major issue with the system is that it has different standards for moderating speech in different languages. This has led to inconsistency and confusion, as users who speak different languages may be punished for saying the same thing.
Another problem with the system is its vague decision-making process. It is often unclear why certain content is deemed inappropriate or why certain users are banned. This lack of transparency makes it difficult for users to understand the rules and to appeal their bans. In particular, there have been instances where political speech from Taiwan or mention of historical events have been banned, even though it is unclear why they would be considered inappropriate. It is currently known that such situations occur frequently in countries ruled by the Chinese Communist Party.
In addition, users who are banned are often unable to appeal their bans or receive any detailed information about why they were banned. This lack of due process makes it difficult for users to defend themselves and to understand the reasons for their bans.
Furthermore, the system does not provide any warnings before permanently banning users. This means that users may be permanently banned without any prior notice, leaving them with no opportunity to address any issues that may have led to their ban.
In light of these issues, there are strong calls to immediately halt the automated moderation system for moderating speech and to provide options for streamers to decide whether to enable it. Without greater transparency, consistency, and fairness, the system is likely to continue to be a source of frustration and anger for users.
Please hear our voice.
You don’t understand Chinese, let alone Chinese people, but you want to use the CCP’s dictatorial censorship standards to control the speeches of all Asians. This is an insult to freedom of speech and a blasphemy to all democratic countries. We have the right to speak , not for you to decide what we can say, against the dictatorship of the Communist Party, against the censorship of speech
Good job Twitch Taiwan, I hope you ban everyone with your ridiculous word-banning system. Ban everyone so that there is no one left in the chat room and the streamers can just talk to themselves. Perfect! 台灣人, 不要再花錢在圖奇平台了, 不要當盤子因為下一秒可能就被ban了, 不要當個傻子被人欺負!
Twitch's auto-ban system is terribly unsuitable for Taiwanese users.
Please stop it before you improved it.
Why we have to be banned for using words that are non-discriminatory, non-hateful, and look like just normal conversation?
(like 尼哥羅, it's a Pokémon, not means ******, ok?)
And why we have to be banned for speaking out in solidarity with our country?(like 台獨)
Do Twitch's ban-words refer to China's censored words?
China is a totalitarian country, so there are many unreasonable censored words. Please stop referencing it.
There're not only China people are Chinese speakers.
And, Chinese(China people) are not even your users! But Taiwanese are.
Sorry, but we, the Taiwan Twitch user, is wondering if Twitch is going to help the problem or not. The symptom in Taiwan is become worse and worse and this keep pushing Taiwan user away from Twitch.
For example, 「爆射」, the word spelling explosive shooting in Chinese, is banned for several days? For what? Are you thinking Taiwan people or Asian people should be away from shooting game? What a racist opinion. What about Tiananmen incident on 4th June? This is only the history event, so what are you banning for? The non-Taiwanese Twitch user also be banned just because he use spanking while he is in Taiwan.
Sorry, but everything goes wrong and become terrible while the Auto-Ban system is having trouble. We also wondering if there's someone controlling the system to have Taiwan user couldn't express our feeling in chat room. Twitch you are totally letting the system, or may be real someone, controlling the speech freedom for Taiwan user.
We need to telling to the other country users, the Twitch employee or even admin, Chinese Character have much different meaning for any combination and it's not reasonable to ban the specific words. Also for the Chinese bad word「幹」 also have meaning for "DO" something. Repeat again, it's not reasonable and ridiculous to ban the single word or single phrase. We also consider it's a racist way to manage the Taiwan chat room like this.
And there the items we hope to see in the near future.
1. Let Taiwan managers or admins to manage the ban word list for localization. And it should be the most practical way for keeping balance to manage the chat room and keep the speech freedom in Taiwan.
2. Have user know why they were banned and have effective way to deliver the response to the managers or admins.
3. Stop ban anyone for political issue, specially for the real history event.
4. For the most important, STOP BANNING EVERYONE UNTIL THE AUTO-BAN SYSTEM IS BECOME MUCH MORE BETTER.
Thanks and hope Twitch could be much more better.
The criteria for banning account in Twitch is so suck.
I wasn't banned, but I have seen people wrongfully banned (it happened within minutes). Someone typed chrysanthemum honey and got banned just because Chrysanthemum is a slang in Chinese means a-hole. There are many more cases like this. The censorship is getting ridiculous. I will not sub/re-sub or gift sub until this problem is solved.
plz just let the mod and the streamer to ban people they are human they know what is wrong what is right
this is twitch not china we should be allowed to speech free
The Auto-BAN issue troubles every single user in Taiwan, including streamers and viewers. Viewers didn't know what they type in chat make them banned, so they rather not type a thing in chat, and don't want subscribe or cheering anymore. Streamer can't do anything with a low attempted chat. There will be less traffic of Taiwan's stream market if the issue stands for a long period. So please review this issue and fix things up!
Your system of AUTO-BAN is very awful, and LARGE MISTAKE! STOP IT!
Don't do this anymore PLEASE!
If you guys don't understand Chinese or Taiwanese TEXTURE completely, you should learn, not to do a bad and wrong system like this.
No Freedom, No Benefit!
