This lack of transparency makes it difficult for users to understand the rules and to appeal their bans. In particular, there have been instances where political speech from Taiwan or mention of historical events have been banned, even though it is unclear why they would be considered inappropriate. It is currently known that such situations occur frequently in countries ruled by the Chinese Communist Party.
In addition, users who are banned are often unable to appeal their bans or receive any detailed information about why they were banned. This lack of due process makes it difficult for users to defend themselves and to understand the reasons for their bans.
Furthermore, the system does not provide any warnings before permanently banning users. This means that users may be permanently banned without any prior notice, leaving them with no opportunity to address any issues that may have led to their ban.
In light of these issues, there are strong calls to immediately halt the automated moderation system for moderating speech and to provide options for streamers to decide whether to enable it. Without greater transparency, consistency, and fairness, the system is likely to continue to be a source of frustration and anger for users.
