Protect streamers by preventing any access to channel for banned users
This is not to take away from the improvements that have already been made, and are being implemented. The work that is being done is greatly appreciated.
However, further change is needed to better protect streamers for banned users. Merely preventing chatting is not enough to deter harassment, stalking, or intrusive bot behavior.
Most people are aware that measures often can be circumvented, that is not an excuse for the lack of protection that currently exists.
Streamers need a way to completely cut off a user from content. I believe the proposed measures are reasonable, and will also provide protection against abuse as well as preventing intrusive bots from squatting in channels without permission.
The proposed changes are:
1. A banned user is prevented from connecting to a channel's chat completely, which means their name does not appear in the list of viewers.
2. A banned user is prevented from viewing the stream itself, on site or using other means.
3. A banned user is blocked from subscribing and following, and will be automatically unsubscribed and / or unfollowed.
4. A banned user is prevented from viewing any other channel information and content, including the streamer's panels, VODs, clips, followers, and followed accounts.
5. A streamer must be able to toggle an option to treat logged out viewers similarly as a banned user, preventing any access until they log in.
Additionally, to prevent excessive account creation, the following measures should be implemented as well:
6. Accounts need to be verified by e-mail.
7. Limit the amount of accounts per e-mail, to 1 or at a maximum 2.
8. Limit the amount of accounts that can be created from a single IP address per day.
Thank you for your consideration.

Hello,
If you have tuned into Patch Notes today, you may already be aware (but in case you missed it) we're looking to implement more changes suggested here soon. We will follow up with an update & more details. Stay tuned.

Reiterating the requests of many here on UserVoice:
The work Twitch has done is noticed and appreciated, but a number of safety features have been added since 2017/2018, when this requests were first added to UserVoice, while this one in particular has been overlooked.
First and most importantly, the reason why this should be implemented is to protect users. Several streamers have come forward of stories about how banned users stalk their channel and use it to further violence on other platforms.
Furthermore, even though banning revokes users of the privilege of clipping, it is very easy for a user to restream content or record it for their own use. Blocking the user from using the chatbox is not enough to actually protect the safety of streamers.
There have been many policy changes on Twitch that protects users, but I and many others fail to see how the implementation of this feature is a threat to Twitch's profit margins. If the reason it hasn't been implemented is because of ad revenue and placement, it is very possible to have both the safety feature and ad placement. Perhaps the option to let banned viewers watch streams or not can also be part of the feature. Regardless, there is far more money to lose when streamers cannot stream anymore because it's no longer safe to utilize Twitch's platform.
Please consider adding this feature again. Thank you.

If they did that, the stream snipers would just make or use an alt twitch account to watch your stream. So, Twitch would have to ban in a way that would not allow that, like windows ID ban or something they can't just work around.

And this is a perfect example. The streamsnipers X6KR4, Soulgryn, BobBobson, Chipnix

I fully agree with the streamers, ban the streamsnipers totally, so they can't watch the stream at all!

I fully agree with this. Stream sniping is a pain ********** and ruins the fun of playing games and streaming.

Streamsniping in my mind is as same as cheating. First it's not fun and second whoever u are sniping it's not fair for them. I think the "BAN HAMMER" should be permanent for stream not only for chat. Seems only fair to me.

agreed seen so many getting stream sniped

Totally agree. If you are banned from someone’s channel it should be all access not just the lack of ability to type in chat.

It should always have been if they were banned then they should be removed from the channel and cannot view it again till being unbanned.

A lot of streamers deal with streamsnipers. Especially people that play shooters. It will be a lot easier to get rid of the streamsnipers if they cant watch your stream anymore once they get banned from your channel. Nowadays you can still watch the stream when you are banned, you just cant type in the chat anymore. This has to change!

Twitch needs to implement a feature that blocks the entire page, including all audio and visual features, for all banned or logged-out users. As someone who has been stalked and mimicked by a partnered streamer for going on multiple years now, I shouldn't have to agonize about whether I should change my name, leave, or live in fear every single time I use the platform. If Youtube can have private channels, why can't Twitch?

Why are Banned users still able to be made aware of my steams AND join me on PSN?

Please , hurry up , it's been a long time since a lot of streamers ask for ban IP / a banned user is prevented from viewing the stream itself.
Or maybe block a country -

WHEN BANNING SOMEONE ON TWITCH IT ONLY BLOCKS CHATTING. BANNING NEEDS TO ALSO COVER WATCHING THE STREAM OR INTERACTING WITH SOUND ALERTS ETC. I STILL GET STREAM SNIPED BY BANNED USERS DUE TO THEM STILL HAVING THE ABILITY TO WATCH. I'D RATHER NOT HAVE THE VIEW OVER BEING HARRASSED AND STREAM SNIPED CONSTANTLY. MAKES FOR A NEGATIVE VIBE ON THE COMMUNITY OR NIGHT BEING STREAMED.
