Exercise Theme Pretty arbitrary, but I have an issue finding another Theme that properly catagorizes titles like Wii Fit or Dance Dance Revolution

Standalone Expansion not available in series collection pages Currently if you look at a series collection page, the main games, dlc and expansions are listed, but not standalone expansions.
Examples:
https://www.igdb.com/games/nostalgia-forte is not listed on its series collection page https://www.igdb.com/collections/nostalgiahttps://www.igdb.com/games/far-cry-3-blood-dragon is not listed on its series collection page https://www.igdb.com/collections/far-cry
I think it is hard to find those stand alone expansions from the perspective of trying to find all standalone games in a series and would really like to have them represented.

Game revisions Game revisions (like Alpha, Beta,1.0,1.1,1.2,2.0, etc) would be good for reviews, because the game can change since someone reviewed the game. Even old games have revision (Rev 1, Rev 2, like in the No-Intro notation). It is not a particularly needed data point, but some games change a lot with time.

Remove "Indie" as a genre According to contribution guidelines, "Genre is the first tier in our 3-tier categorization system. Choose the most fitting genre(s) to broadly describe the game."
"Indie" is not the primary, broad description for a game. Maybe in 2007, but not today. They are puzzles/platformers/etc before they are indie. Indie is better suited as a keyword, if anything.74 votes -
Personalized game recommendation to edit As means of promoting game editing, there could be a game recommendation for the user. It would be based on the game pages the user visited, the games the user rated, etc. A notification could appear on the website with the recommendation, and there could be a place in "Karma hunters" for some more recommendations.
It would certainly help with many more game info missing, as the person would be prompted to help with something they most probably know.3 votes -
3DTV support Not a fan personally, but it might be worth documenting with a simple Yes/No Checkbox.
Ex. Jak & Daxter Collection PS3, Resistance 3, Uncharted 3, etc.

Various Edits do not save when attempting to update a submission prior to Approval At times editors can realize an important bit of information was missed or forgotten after selecting Update Game. If the editor selects Edit again before their previous update has been approved. Several parts of the update appear to inconsistently display the recently entered data, while others do not. Many of these edits also will not change, even if re-edited prior to an Approval being confirmed by Admins.
Examples:
- Franchises do not save
- Removing Platforms from various Release Dates, Companies and Age Ratings do not save
- Removed Companies continue to display
- Previously added Multiplayer Modes do not…3 votes -

Add Clicker / Idle Game as a genre It's a distinct enough style of gameplay that it should be a genre rather than just a keyword.

Removing Regional Divisions as Publishers There are alot of titles that seem to list multiple divisions as publishing arms for each region. While this can make sense for Developers like Ubisoft Montreal or Shanghai that are responsible for the creation of the game, it makes less sense for Publishers that serve as regional PR wings.
Ex. "Sega" vs Sega of Japan, Sega of America, Sega of Europe.

Shmup (Shoot-'em-up) Genre This genre seems to me cross-categorized with many other genres. These types of games include Gradius, Raiden, 1942, Ikaruga, etc.

Additional Web Storefront links (PSN, XBL, Nintendo, etc.) (Confirmed in the pipeline)
In addition to Steam and mobile platforms, links to the web storefronts of additional platforms would be helpful.Discord: https://discordapp.com/channels/114736716505546761/352159900849274892/722780997334335508
46 votesHeya!
Update on this, we identified one possible issue which is that unlike PC stores, most console links are region specific.
So we’re investigating how we could either generalised them or whether we’d introduce this when we tackle localization of IGDB.

Listing of Extra Games Unlocked by In-game Achievements Titles contained within Collections and other Bundles can be listed as included by displaying links on the Game Page to each respective title's own page. However there is no current way to list titles unlocked as secrets from earning achievements or other various tasks in game.
Ex. Completing the Xbox release of House of the Dead III unlocks House of the Dead 2.

Company Re-branding History and Display Few companies maintain the same name forever. Some rename, merge, are bought out, or generally acquired. It would be helpful to manage the progression of various devs and publishers with a timeline progression and/or a tree of ownership.
Ex.
1) Squaresoft > Square > Square and Enix merge > SquareEnix2) Namco and Bandai merge > Namco Bandai > Bandai Namco Games
3) Activision and Blizzard Merge > Create holding company called Activision Blizzard that owns the two companies Activision and Blizzard.
30 votesHello!
We are looking at redoing our company data taxonomy, part of which is possibly adding several ‘layers’ to companies, such as Divisions for example.Companies are a bit lacking at the moment as we historically have been focusing on Games, but we gradually intend to start giving them more love :)

Tooltip Definitions for Game-types and Theme-types Often when entering different Themes, Game-types, and/or Genres to define or classify a title, it is often up to the Editor's personal definition to what entails each category. Some may feel a "Shooter" only means FPS, others may include Shmups, or anything that fires a gun like Mega Man.
It would be very helpful to have a defined definition for each category display when entering each one into a Edit page by hovering your mouse pointer over the entry.

7 votesSo, we actually used to have Tool Tips on our game edits, specifically for the Franchise and Series field.
This feature broke at some point during our infrastructure migration post-acquisition, and disabled it.
Now, we absolutely would like to bring this back indeed, and expand to more fields. As we are not constantly adding new data points and are putting a big focus right now on our contribution tools this is an excellent suggestion.
We’ll take a look at the best places to implement them!

"This title also appears in X Bundle" listing Currently, only actual Bundle pages appear to display titles included. It would be helpful if those individual titles also displayed the collections and bundles they are included in.

EAN Integration (bar Codes from retail versions) The EAN on the back of packages are a unique way to identify different versions of games. This could help to find details about a game and revision.

Show a toggable list of mods of the in the main game page. A list of mods could be shown as toggable to not mess with the layout of the page, since some games have an extensive mod library (I'm looking at you Super Mario World and Super Mario 64).
