Minecraft Bedrock edition as a category Hello
I noticed that there are so many Minecraft categories but none from the Minecraft Bedrock edition.
In general, this is my suggestion. An extra category for the Minecraft Bedrock edition. I'm from the Minecraft Bedfrock edition scene and because there is no category for which many of my colleagues stream Minecraft Bedrock edition only on YouTube and not on Twitch. It is even often said that the Minecraft Bedrock edition would not be wanted on Twitch and something like that. And I think something should change so that another community can find its place on Twitch.

Categorize Individual Roblox Games Separately under Roblox as a platform Seeing as though Roblox is starting to be a sort of platform for games as opposed to being just a game itself, I think it would make sense to categorize games that run under Roblox (such as Bad Business, Phantom Forces, etc.) separately from Roblox itself. This is purely for game-tracking purposes in game-tracking services that use IGDB as their database.

Have genres be user-voted instead of being edited Besides the confusion with genres and themes (and things being really blanket), it would be great if people upvote or downvote genres to video games instead of how it is currently, where users can add whatever genres/tags they want with moderation, which leads to Steam/IGDB tags that don't really help for having users find similar games.

Adding Arcade Platforms There is a variety of arcade games on IGDB, but there is no differentiation between the different arcade hardware. For example, Chunithm and maimai Finale are both on IGDB under the platform of simply "Arcade", despite Chunithm running on the Sega Nu 1.1 board, while maimai Finale runs on the Sega RingEdge 2.

Login currently redirects to id.twitch.tv Heya, When I logged in to IGDB with Twitch just now (first time user), I was redirected to id.twitch.tv, which is 404ing.

Add TI-84 Graphing Calculator as a platform The TI-84 Graphing calculator can play certain video games and some made exclusive for it. I don't see why it couldn't be on IGDB.

Select default cover-art on a case-by-case basis rather than taking a US-centric viewpoint It is my understanding that you are planning to implement a system where multiple cover-arts can be uploaded. This is a good start, but I strongly suggest you consider allowing the defaults (those shown on the IGDB page to logged out users, and those shown on Twitch) to be selected on a case-by-case basis. Factors such as popularity in differing regions and how the game is represented need to be taken into account, for example there are games that, though they released in the US, never received any sizable following there whereas they did elsewhere. Actually be a database of all games Currently the IGDB is only a database of video games but is the canonical source of twitch's game list. It should include all games if it wants to be called the IGDB and not IVGDB. This includes board and card games that do not have a digital version. This choice on the data front results in non-digital games all having to be lumped into the broad board game category and having to push for individual inclusion. Either make all video games jump through the same hoops or make IGDB live up to its name.

Understandable about the naming expectation, but i can confirm that at this point in time, and the near future at least IGDB is strictly focused on video games.
Few reasons for this:
- Coming up with video game taxonomy to set industry standard is already a monument of a task, and it makes sense for us to narrow down this goal by excluding board games, card games and other physical types.
- Twitch does have some very unique use cases beyond video games, which is why there is a distinction in being the database that powers Twitch’s gaming need, rather than being Twitch’s database itself. Our data being used by many more services than Twitch alone, we remain focused right now on video games.It’s totally possible that in a long term vision we start tackling taxonomy of non-video game products, but likely not in the near future…

CSV Export with Personal Ratings In lists, I see that you can export those lists into csv files. However, when I go to view them, they don't have the user's personal rating, which I feel like is an important data point if someone wants to see their lists.
Essentially, this request is for a new column alongside the average user rating called "Personal Rating".
If no personal rating exists, it can either be 0 or empty.

Pending Cover Art placeholder image I actually like the new placeholder image for missing covers on entries, however, the same image will show for pending uploads to new covers while the system caches the preview. This can be confusing to new users that don't understand they simply need to wait for their submission to upload before it displays. A separate "preview pending" image would help to communicate this to new users.

Separate entries/ratings for ports of games. Games' ratings may be skewed or conflicting if they have wildly different ports.
For example, "The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning" has its console ports, which are fundamentally the same, but it also has a 2D side-scroller port for GBA, and an isometric port for DS; both vary greatly (especially the GBA port) from the console release. Another example is Shrek 2, where the PC port is effectively an entirely different game from the console ports (and the matching PC port was called "Shrek 2: Team Action!")
Metacritic already separates game ratings by every port, and imo that's how…

You are 100% correct on this :) We would consider the GBA, DS, and DS releases as Ports in the sense they deserve their own pages on IGDB so they can be rated & reviewed individually.
This is indeed a perfect example for ports. In this case it’s simply that we haven’t got around to split the releases and clean up the data.

Label Art In addition to box art, id love to see the actual game cart / disc label hosted. Actual carts themselves could be problematic as scan/photo/image quality would vary wildy, but if we could have high quality representations of the label, it could be simple to add to a clean template cartridge to display. Consolidate "Collections" and "Franchises" As it stands, there is a lot of confusion and mixed up data between Collections and Franchises, all relating to the series in which a game belongs. Some games will be within a collection without a franchise, while other series titles such as "Legend of Zelda" has 2 different database ID's for its collection and its franchise.
Because of these differences, it's hard to utilise the series distinction in searches, as it might be in one category or the other, or both. If both are merged, there would be a more consistent way of determining a "series", with many games…

Preset options for screenshot description It would be good to have some preset options for screenshot descriptions, like Alternative Names have (and still maintain the possibility of adding a custom description).
The main suggestions I have are:
- Title screen (I use this one all the time)
- In-game screenshot
- Main menu
- Opening screenshot

"Released" or "In-Development" statuses This might sound redundant, but perhaps is would be beneficial to make the Status of a entries "Released" or "In-development" instead of leaving it blank for this development state.
It appears rather common people confuse the terms of Alpha, Beta. etc. for something they need to fill out without understanding what those states are, marking a fully released title as an "Alpha", or leaving a title in perpetual "Early Access" after the full release. 4 votesHey! This is not a bad idea, however it is going to be a bit hard to do that with our current set up for statuses. We are worried that it might cause confusion for some contributors that are working on games or adding games that are between stages where "in development" and "released" won't apply. So we would need to think about how to expand this feature carefully before taking action. We will investigate further on this topic. Thanks!

Link Duplicates to the Parent Version Since there are reasons for duplicated not been removed quickly, I suggest providing a way to quickly link from a duplicate to it's original. I.e. Game Type as duplicate. This would have the added benefit of adding duplicates to the standard changes queue

Delisted Status "Date". Very happy to see Delisted added to the Status options. If possible, it would be nice to also allow for documenting the date in which a title was removed from online storefronts, similar to how Offline Status allows users to document the date online functionality was shut down.
However, even when documented, Offline Status's Date does not currently show on the standard entry page, so this probably is a double request in that case.
