Pronoun bio field and chat integration
Following up my comment on https://twitch.uservoice.com/forums/310210-discover/suggestions/42218083-pronouns-prefix
It would be great if there were a dedicated Bio field in which we could put our pronouns, and a chat feature similar to the functionality provided by https://pronouns.alejo.io/ to display pronouns right alongside names in chat. This could also be used to populate a tag-like display near the streamer's name.
Tags for streamers are a start, but I'd like to be able to consult someone's bio (if they choose to disclose pronouns) so I can refer to them properly when they're not currently streaming and be able to refer to viewers properly.

The thing that genuinely baffles me about anyone against this - are they saying they're ok with being called a gender that they're not? Like, even if you ascribe to "biological sex ends at the high school level of differentation" (aka xx and xy only, which science and biology both agree is not true), you'd be ok being called what you're not? And/or you're ok with correcting multiple hundreds of people if they happen to guess wrong? I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the answer is actually no, and you're pushing against this solely because you don't feel the need to respect certain people.

There's an extension that does this already and it's very useful, a lot of people use it in my streams and I don't have to worry about missgendering them by mistake, you can check it here → https://pronouns.alejo.io/

I think this is great for everyone, not just trans and non-binary people. The number of times I could pervent people from just assuming I'm a guy would be great AND we could help support gender minorities too?? Amazing.

It's almost always a good idea to be kind as it costs nothing or next to it. We should do what we can to avoid hurting others. If you don't like the idea of being kind or respecting others' identities, maybe just move on or start your own uservoice about something important to you. We don't have to demean others to make ourselves feel better.
Twitch should either offer an in-house option for preferred pronouns to be visible to those wanting to see them or promote one of the plugins which already do so.

Oh if you think pronouns are controversial, maybe you should take a looooong look at the English language.

Better yet, what if we just call people by their username. We are mainstreaming delusion to add pronouns; it's unnecessary and controversial.

That's not even only for trans or not binary people. Every time I'm talking to a new person, I have to use they/them until I figure out from what they say which pronouns they would like.
And let's be honest, greeting someone by "Hello, welcome! Are you a guy or a girl?", it's just weird.
"Hello, welcome! Which pronouns you want us to use for you?" is slightly better, but obviously it's difficult to remember this for every new user. And what about the people in the chat that were not there when that person came? -

I am new here, is there a way to vote against this ? Or only for it ? Makes it kinda biased if that's the case no ?

I'm all for it. As a creator is always a bad idea to assume anyone gender or identity in the chat. It would be a great tool for trans an NB users, but also for creators and cis users in general. As long as it's optional for everyone it would be a great implementation. A badge would also be a great solution.

I think the ability of having our pronouns next to our names would be a great way to practice inclusivity. I would appreciate your vote towards this idea. Thank you, best vibes to you. :)

I think this suggestion is a "no-brainer" and should absolutely be part of Twitch. In addition, I would argue that this feature could be implemented relatively easily and quickly.

Visibility is important, for trans people as well as allies. The more cis people are reminded that pronouns are a thing, and the more normalised considering others' pronouns becomes, the less "other" we'll appear to them, maybe the less people roll their eyes when I give my pronouns. Besides, even if others don't respect them, at least I'll know how to address people when I stream

I get misgendered on a daily basis on twitch. I would love to have my pronouns displayed so I don’t need to go through this harm and I’d love to be able to know those who opt in so I don’t potentially misgender them as well.

It is FAR past time that Twitch allow users to designate their pronouns in chat. If someone else has created a tool that meets our need, then you can.

I want to add something to this - IF THEY DO this they then need to produce the security to prevent people from HACKING or ROLLING In - because we're already running into the consistent hate raids and follow bots from our tags - the pronouns may not make it any easier on us as users. I love the ability to be open about who i am - but i am not liking how easy it is to garner large scale stupidity. It's available in a chrome plugin and FrankerzFace plugin - but again, we need to see more accountability in protection before these things come in place.

There's an extension for this already - it should be super easy for them to make it but official

I know this is something they're ignoring, but it has a pretty simple solution.
Pronoun badges... There are normally 3 slots. I've got my mod sword.
Just let us swap out one of the three badges for a pronoun. You should be able to make simple representations in the small badge size.

It'd be helpful for everyone, really. In chat everyone's gender is a mystery and that can become awkward to verbally navigate in an extended conversation.

Its cool that you added pronouns to options if we wanted to add those to tags, but that only help the streamer and not users in chat and being limited to 5 we have to pick and choose which identity tags we want.
Having pronoun information on user cards/ beside someones username helps everyone and not just streamers.
its pretty simple add on that you could implement. https://pronouns.alejo.io/ is a very similar idea that you could implement.
