Bring back the offline image
I and many other streamers use the offline image to communicate important information about the stream, and with it being missing, small, or overridden by the other cards, I'm losing an important method of communication with viewers.
In addition, the auto-featured recent stream, while nice for some streams, is not useful or appropriate for all channels, and it would be nice to have the option to disable it.
...I guess the sum of what I want is just the option to keep my offline image as the main visual element on the channel page when it's offline. The new additions are all useless for my channel's needs.
Hi everyone!
Thank you for all of your feedback on this topic. After much consideration, we have decided against bringing back the offline channel image in its original form. However, we would like to share some reasons why we came to this decision:
Many of you used to use the offline image to share relevant information for your channel like schedules and social media names. Part of the channel redesign was to build those options into your channel itself and make them interactive. You can create your own schedules and your viewers can even set up notifications to remind them. Additionally, you can add your social media links directly for your community members to find you elsewhere. Streamlining your information in this way makes it easier for new viewers to know where to look, and eliminates the issue of viewers landing on a black screen, as a lot of streamers did not actually upload images.
If you feel anything specific is missing, however, please let us know! We are always looking for ways to continue iterating and improving.

some of us are creative streamers and having the option to have an offline image was a perfect opportunity for us.
As a creative streamer it was a very powerful opportunity to generate a strong first impression about us and our work, current twitch format is totally useless for creative people and we feel left out.

Any resolution to this request ? My offline image function worked ok till April 2021. After that it would show up if I refreshed the page a few times but now it does not appear at all. All I get is a message saying my channel is off line and click here to learn more about the channel ( brings to a twitch.tv hosted page of my site)

I agree with @LuneSnowtail we should have the option to pick what we want to show. It allows more versatility and should be a rather simple change. It also allows you to personalize your channel more.

I used many hours to draw a Offline Screen to show Information and give some interesting things for my viewers to look. The Videos are useless to show, I don't want to show old Videos there I just want a Offline Screen

I've given the new Twitch Design some time to settle in, and now I have to parrot the other comments here. Losing my offline image, which I put time and care into, was a huuuuge bummer. My offline screen combined with my panels below were all themed to my brand and were a quick way to see when the stream was live and what to expect from it. Everything connected seemlessly. Now I have this single-color side panel which I think breaks immersion, and my home page now has these big clashing square images and colors right over the top of the image I designed.
This completely takes away all individuality and uniqueness of streamers who put time and effort into their stream. I'm really opposed to the new changes. My page now looks like everyone else's, and that's pretty frustrating...

While we're at it, maybe we could have the offline player image *not* murdered by JPEG compression at 80% quality when we upload it.

keep the original format (with the size of the stream window) but give us 3 options
1-trailer
2-looping offline video
3-original offline imagelet us choose from any of those 3

This + about page as default when opening. I pretty much dont like anything about the new layout. It shows a page that doesnt tell anything about my channel.

I agree. As a compromise, maybe it would be nice to have an option, so everyone can choose by themselves how they want it to look like.

True! I want my offline picture, not a video.

I am here as an artist, a *big* chunk of my income is from creating offline screens for other streamers and I don't think I'm alone on that.
Not to mention the people who just spent money on my stuff to go to waste, from the last two months alone I have over 10 commissions that will end up useless (not to mention the panels on this discussion) and I think that's super unfair to my clients. We should at least have the option to choose whether we keep it or not!

I agree with both core points here, allowing an offline image in place of a video preview as well as *not* auto-playing a recent stream.

I feel as though this is important.. I love my offline image and some people have paid a lot of money to get something done - I do like the new design, but I would also love to have my offline image there!
