Do not impliment the AI auto clip tool
Twitch has implemented a sign up for an AI alpha auto clip tool. This is very unethical in many ways to not just content creation but also to things outside content creation.
I ask twitch to remove this sign up and not engage in any use of AI when it comes to content creation.
Facts about AI usage
- Google’s single Iowa data center alone consumed 1 billion gallons of water in 2024. The first way AI uses water is for cooling. Data centers run thousands of powerful computers around the clock. As these machines crunch numbers and manage data, they generate a lot of heat.
To keep everything running smoothly, water is often used in cooling systems. This can mean circulating water through pipes to absorb heat or using evaporative cooling towers that release warm air.
Ai is trained to use already created content for training with out user consent. This has already been happening on social media. Twitch's AI clip tool ''claims'' they will not use user generated clips with out consent for training to assume what constitutes as high engagement moments for clip creation.
- AI data centers now generate 2.5–3.7% of global greenhouse gas emissions, officially surpassing the aviation industry’s 2% contribution while growing 15% annually.
It is very important that people speak up and say no to the AI clip tool especially partners and ambassadors as this tool is very harmful to the community.
Turning it off as an option is not enough.

In what way would some "AI tool" know better than the platform's users what's clipworthy and what isn't? Spoiler: it won't. Not now, not ever. So who, exactly, is this supposed to be for? How do we know this won't lead to stream scraping for AI-generated slop?
Enough creators have lost their livelihoods to generative AI already. I don't give a frick what so-called use Twitch thinks this will have. I do not want it. I do not consent to it.

This is a complete invasion of privacy absolutely the **** not! If twitch actually goes through with this I may very well delete my account because I don't want to support a company that's willing to abuse Ai like this!

Any company embracing AI to infringe upon the talent that actually provides them with the content that generates their income is short-sighted and destined to fail.
I will boycott the platform if this change rolls out. -

If Twitch embraces GenAI, I will cancel all of my subs, of which there are many, and find somewhere else to support creators. The less money the creators make on Twitch, the more likely they are to stop streaming and go elsewhere, and then Twitch gets nothing. Don't kill your platform. Don't be Twitter.

As a working voice actor who has delt with my voice being ripped and cloned in the past I take major issue with the idea of twitch scraping audio data from my stream for something as stupid as clips. This is what mods and viewers do, them liking a moment enough to clip it and share it is the whole point. Keep AI out of it or we'll go elsewhere.

The easy way to start is that adding AI will alienate the numerous creatives who call Twitch home for something thay won't generate any profit.
Just as important though? Clips are, and always have been, a part of the community. And the community is one of the biggest parts of any channel, no matter how big or small. Trying to replace that community with an AI is misguided at best, and self destructive foolishness to be more blunt. We don't want or need AI to interfere in something that is focused on art and community.

Apart from all the arguments against AI, which I agree with, I'd rather see Twitch work on other changes creators have actually been asking for, and fixing the weird glitches around viewer count fluctuation, or even technical glitches like /shoutout looking like a phantom "new introduction".
In fact, instead of this, if Twitch could make their own Clip Shoutout feature instead of leaving it to third-party outlets when they're not functioning well now, that would be leagues better than AI slop scraping our streams.
There are a host of things that can and will make the platform better without needing to resort to AI. We already have very useful and nifty tools to clip our best segments for ourselves.

Generative AI, as it currently exists, has no place ANYWHERE. It is dangerous, it is wasteful, it is theft, and it is a tool of fascism. I do not and will never consent to its use in anything I ever do, and if you had any common sense whatsoever, you would not even consider implementing this feature or anything like it.

The genAI bubble is already close to bursting. There was never a time to get into this environmentally and artistically harmful, unethical slop. Nip this trash idea in the bud.

Twitch, stop listening to your shareholders because they don't know how to do anything. They are neither smart nor intelligent, otherwise they would have known what a hilarious waste of money Generative AI nonsense is. They're nothing but spoiled brats who were only pushed to the top because they had mommy and daddy's money to keep them afloat. They will never be a good group to find genuine, legitimate feedback about how to keep your site operational and healthy.
No one likes Generative AI tools. Everyone is sick and tired of Generative AI no matter what it is. If it isn't a blight upon our environment, then it's a complete waste of time because of VARIOUS legal issues. It has no practical implementation aside from niche fields, and it has long shown itself as a pit where economies go to devalue themselves into nothingness. Stop peddling Generative AI ****.

I'm exhausted with AI being crammed down my throat everywhere I turn. Tech bros are obsessed with it and shoving it out before it's even safe and vetted and then racing others to rush out sloppy features.
I don't trust corporations that use AI. It makes me wonder why they can't hire humans. Are they poorly managed and don't have money? Is everyone disposable the moment they aren't exploitable? Twitch is already on extremely thin ice with it's repeated use of GenAI for emotes and promotional images.
The environmental impact is also massive, especially for the US. So many places in the US don't have clean drinking water, have devastating wildfires, or struggle with droughts and I don't want what little water they have to be wasted cooling off untrustworthy machines.

This sucks. This timeline sucks. This AI thing sucks. Twitch not only changing how we can monetize ourselves recently and changing the percentage of income we get, but now thinking of adding AI clipping to our content whether we want it or not? Unkindly **** of with that.

Forcing AI on anyone without consent is just bad practice. I do not consent to having my voice scraped and stolen for AI training. Twitch, for the love of common sense, do NOT implement this.

Absolutely not! AI steals creators' works, uses WAY too much energy and "hallucinates"-- it can't be trusted and shouldn't be used on Twitch. We don't need this, we don't want this, and I doubt streamers and viewers are going to put up with this.
