Two months later there is a surge in votes on this due to *rumour* that Twitch may train AI on their streamers' data.
A *rumour*Twitch, please recognise how many people do not want to engage with genAI on our platforms, or at least have autonomy over how it engages with our content.
The bare minimum is allowing all accounts to opt out of any kind of AI training, whether from videos, chat, settings, surveys etc. There will certainly be users who will be fine with letting you, at least give those who wouldn't the option to not.
Otherwise I can certainly see us leaving entirely

I do not consent to my channel being used to train AI for a feature no one needs. I can summarise my own stream on my own at request.
Focus your efforts on the things creators actually do want.

Every time Twitch has used generative AI in the past, the community has spoken out against it, and changes were made.
We don't want it, why push things that are detrimental to creators as a platform *for* creators?

Apart from all the arguments against AI, which I agree with, I'd rather see Twitch work on other changes creators have actually been asking for, and fixing the weird glitches around viewer count fluctuation, or even technical glitches like /shoutout looking like a phantom "new introduction".
In fact, instead of this, if Twitch could make their own Clip Shoutout feature instead of leaving it to third-party outlets when they're not functioning well now, that would be leagues better than AI slop scraping our streams.
There are a host of things that can and will make the platform better without needing to resort to AI. We already have very useful and nifty tools to clip our best segments for ourselves.

A lot of people are using the LGBTQIA+ discussion point to explain the issue, but I want to add that this applies for every marginalisation - race, disability, mental health status, nationality & ethnicity, socio-economic status...
If I run a charity/mutual aid stream, by the nature of society it is considered political because that charity/mutual aid is trying to solve a problem magnified by politics.
It's also really really important to witness who is actually concerned about this section of the new rules, because these are the people who will be penalised by the inclusion and enforcement of the change. Further forcing marginalised identities to be exceptions in the greater Twitch society rather than the majority and common denominator of the greater Twitch society is continuing to supress marginalised people.
We've already seen Twitch systems flag streams of marginalised folks under these new guidelines that don't warrant flagging. This vague change does not remove that risk. Please remove that entire section from the classification guidelines

Considering the rise of Twitch during the start and height of the COVID pandemic, which was a mass disabling event for pretty much the entire world, it's incredibly disheartening to see Twitch disregard this suggestion for another year.
So many of the streamers still going on this platform are disabled and offer such a unique experience to viewers you can't truly find anywhere else. There are so many disabled creators who - against the odds - have made and succeeded at their Partner pushes. They boost this platform at greater cost to themselves in comparison to their able-bodied counterparts.It may be too late this year to get something going, but surely a response from Twitch staff that something will be in the works next year is not too much to ask? We deserve recognition. Recognition aids our validity, and means more people get an education on things we don't get the room to to in person.
