Do not impliment the AI auto clip tool
Twitch has implemented a sign up for an AI alpha auto clip tool. This is very unethical in many ways to not just content creation but also to things outside content creation.
I ask twitch to remove this sign up and not engage in any use of AI when it comes to content creation.
Facts about AI usage
- Google’s single Iowa data center alone consumed 1 billion gallons of water in 2024. The first way AI uses water is for cooling. Data centers run thousands of powerful computers around the clock. As these machines crunch numbers and manage data, they generate a lot of heat.
To keep everything running smoothly, water is often used in cooling systems. This can mean circulating water through pipes to absorb heat or using evaporative cooling towers that release warm air.
Ai is trained to use already created content for training with out user consent. This has already been happening on social media. Twitch's AI clip tool ''claims'' they will not use user generated clips with out consent for training to assume what constitutes as high engagement moments for clip creation.
- AI data centers now generate 2.5–3.7% of global greenhouse gas emissions, officially surpassing the aviation industry’s 2% contribution while growing 15% annually.
It is very important that people speak up and say no to the AI clip tool especially partners and ambassadors as this tool is very harmful to the community.
Turning it off as an option is not enough.

This AI tool is needless as there are already options out there to carry out things out like this without dragging more irritating and frankly harmful AI tools into the Twitch dashboard. As many others have said, if this is brought in don't automatically enable it on everyone's channels but the better option is to just not implement this horrendous idea.

Seconding other comments: if you MUST introduce this idiotic idea, make it opt-in by default so that the people who want nothing to do with it don't have to jump through hoops getting rid of it. Better, don't implement it at all! It's a waste of money for Twitch, a violation for twitch users, and overall a terrible idea!

We do not need Twitch adding to the apps that incessantly try to shove AI "help" down our throats. It's theft and will just hand harassers another tool to make fake content of people they don't like.

I think this new "idea" is pretty dumb. like if you want a clip, jut clip it yourself after stream, or get someone else to, it's not that complicated so an ai doesn't need to exist for that

I keep seeing comments about Gen Ai, I don't think this is Gen AI. From what I understand the AI will listen and watch your live stream, clip when you say clip that or it will clip what it thinks is high engagement moments such as a raid, or chat moving really fast etc. My concern is the lack of transparency.
Concerns are data retention and using your clips to train the AI with out consent despite the TOS sub-liscence clause. I don't have faith in twitch to have an ethical AI tool.
For example, alexa and google dot have been confirmed to be AI spy tools that seem harmeless but can be used unethically.

AI is not it. Considering how much harm it causes, it's not worth it. So many of us keep pointing out how awful it is and it's everywhere. After the disaster of this year's Twitch Con there's no reason for this. You do not get to scrape our voices and you sure don't get to act like you're doing us a favor with this.

Twitch, get the h.e.l.l out of here with this. Let users make the clips, we don't need yet another c.r.a.p.p.y hallucinating bot doing it badly for us and wasting more power than most local grids use for the "benefit".

it's bad enough for twitch to spit in the faces of creatives on this site by using AI generated thumbnails. now they want our consent to quietly scrape our voices too? nah. twitch, you're on a path downward and after the debacle that was twitchcon 2025 y'all are on a slippery slope to no return.
