Do not impliment the AI auto clip tool
Twitch has implemented a sign up for an AI alpha auto clip tool. This is very unethical in many ways to not just content creation but also to things outside content creation.
I ask twitch to remove this sign up and not engage in any use of AI when it comes to content creation.
Facts about AI usage
- Google’s single Iowa data center alone consumed 1 billion gallons of water in 2024. The first way AI uses water is for cooling. Data centers run thousands of powerful computers around the clock. As these machines crunch numbers and manage data, they generate a lot of heat.
To keep everything running smoothly, water is often used in cooling systems. This can mean circulating water through pipes to absorb heat or using evaporative cooling towers that release warm air.
Ai is trained to use already created content for training with out user consent. This has already been happening on social media. Twitch's AI clip tool ''claims'' they will not use user generated clips with out consent for training to assume what constitutes as high engagement moments for clip creation.
- AI data centers now generate 2.5–3.7% of global greenhouse gas emissions, officially surpassing the aviation industry’s 2% contribution while growing 15% annually.
It is very important that people speak up and say no to the AI clip tool especially partners and ambassadors as this tool is very harmful to the community.
Turning it off as an option is not enough.

How about no. You already refused storage of vods why replace with an endless ocean of random ai clips

Abso-f***ing-lutely not. You don't need AI to make clips of streams. Viewers do that already; they're smarter than AI, they actually know when something happened, and I don't want to have to go through and delete every single AI-generated clip that's actually just some incredibly stupid **** I said that got a momentary laugh out of chat.
there's absolutely zero chance of it grabbing a clip with proper handles for editing into compilations, or of it actually targeting the correct moment.
terrible idea, leave it in the trash.

I do not want my voice or my content used by AI for anything. Do not implement this, it’s just bad environmentally and ethically and adds nothing of value. If I want something clipped I can easily clip it or have a mod clip it without pulling gallons of water from some neighborhood’s reservoir to do that.

How many times do we have to keep teaching you this lesson, old white CEOs so desperate to get a ROI on your ****** investments?

AI is wasteful in the best of cases, and Twitch has far too many more pressing issues like security, considering lurking viewers "bots", and actual QoL to worry about chasing a do nothing trend that will lead more costs for your business, and people finding workarounds to fully avoid it even as an opt out.

Creatives might be seen as a vocal minority in their resistance to genAI, but more and more, everyday people take a dim view of it once they learn of its environmental impacts, its questionable ethics, and the number of jobs it's robbing people of across the board. Even barring all of these factors, once we come out on the other side of this conflict, every company that threw its full weight behind genAI is going to end up looking bad, and with as much terrible press as Twitch has been garnering of late, this would be a pretty ugly feather to stick in your hat along with the rest.
Please actually listen to people and stop shoving this trash at us. We didn't ask for it. We don't want it. Quit trying to trick us into using it just because you have to make good on a bad bet.

Absolutely not! AI has no place on a platform that is built entirely on the efforts of thousands of individuals, more often than not putting in uncounted hours of free or underpaid labour.
You must not on top of the precarious compensation add a tool that by design steals that effort. -

No thanks please do not!
This is blatantly an attempt to train AI to be streamers just you watch! -

Honestly starting to get pretty sick and tired of Twitch and all the ******** they keep doing. First lying to their userbase about the views, then about the security at their own con, and now this

Please stop trying to implement genAI slop. It is not needed. It is not wanted. It will turn even more people off of twitch. Please have some sense.

AI is not, and will never be, the answer. Do better, Twitch.

I use a clip command function that makes it easier for folks to clip things without distracting from the actual stream. I will turn clips off and just go back to marking VOD timelines and do it myself to upload to YouTube if this is implemented.

99.99999% of twitch users never asked for this, wanted this, and will ever want it. It's a loss of time, work, resources (both monetary and physical), and in the end all that remains is an imprint on nature in the shape of a twitch logo.
If implemented, the results will be less people on twitch, and an ever bigger imprint. Don't implement it, period. -

If implemented i will turn off clips entirely. I refuse to provide content for AI. I will never want AI full stop.

It's not enough to just turn the feature off. If Twitch implements this feature, I am disabling clips altogether and disabling any saved videos. No one wants this, and it's a waste of everything.

Such “tools” are antithetical to the idea of this platform and entertainment via streaming as a whole. It should be done away with at a minimum.

Please stop with this attempting to shoehorn AI into every product or service. We don't want this. We don't want AI forced into everything.

No one is asking for this, and no one wants this. It's disrespectful to everyone involved and only harms the planet.
If you want some good media coverage for a change, don't implement AI

Not only do you insult creators by implementing these tools, but you disrespect them by not listening and forcing these tools on us. We do not need or want AI on this platform. Tell your bosses, tell their bosses, and tell their bosses to stop this stupid push for something that is destroying the planet. We're sick of it.
