Ukrainian users get emails from Twitch in Russian but English profile language was chosen

Hey everyone!

I'm located in Ukraine and got registered in Twitch some time ago.
Since Twitch does not have Ukrainian localization yet I had to choose English one instead.

Luckily there is a petition to add Ukrainian locale here:

Nevertheless, when I logged in to my Twitch account today, I got an email notification in Russian, so I had to translate it to understand it well.

I don't know why it happened but I would like to receive notifications either based on my location (Ukraine - in Ukrainian) or based on my profile language (English and when Ukrainian will be added - in Ukrainian).

Hi all!

Could you please answer a few questions:

1. What was the language you chose when you created your account?
2. Have you changed your preferred language at all since then or recently?
3. Is this the first time you’ve received an email in your non-preferred language, or has it always been sending emails in Russian?
4. To be clear, if you click on your profile picture, and under “Language”, you have “English” chosen, but are receiving Russian emails?

    мені допомогло таке рішення. десь тут в коментарях писав хтось. перемкнув мову на іспанську, розлогінився, залогінився і перемкну назад на англійську. це 28.05.25

    Chose English everywhere suggested. The notifications and enails are still in russian.
    I changed my phone recently and chose english as system language. When I downloaded the twitch app, it was in English, but emails and push-notifications in russian

    I have the same issue and now I can clearly see that twitch do not care about it Ukrainian users at all. Since May 15, 2021 (date when this post was created) nothing change!

    I have the same issue, I could answer your questions, if that could help
    1. Yes, unfortunately, it was ru*sian
    2. Yes, I have. Changed it to English.
    3. No, it's so even after I changed my preferred language a long time ago.
    4. Yes!
    5. It's English, but it redirects me to the English page after showing a ru*sian one for a split of second.

    Have the same issue! Why should i receive something in aggressor language? Every time i just thing this is some kind of spam or something like that - i have nothing russian except from twitch messages!

    Having the same issue, it really ****** me off! I've never selected the Russian language ad my profile account, all my local settings are displayed in English, even the local time. WTF twitch??

    I have this exact issue. Except in my case, the emails are all in Dutch.
    I live in Bosnia, have set the browser and Twitch languages to English, yet I get emails in DUTCH. What the **** is going on?

    Also, the language at the help.twitch website is in Dutch. I didn't set it to Dutch and there is no option to change it.

    Edit: Now I see. A theme I had installed had turned the Language option BLACK so I didn't notice it. I changed the language to English just now. Hopefully that sorts it.

    For anyone wondering, the language option is at the bottom of the page, in the black portion.

    you need to change language to spanish, log out, log in, change it to english, log out and then log in. for me it worked

    I agree that Twitch should add feature for ' user prefer language for email notification by themselves. ' It's more logical than clearing the cache, changing the browser language, clearing cookies, dancing with a tambourine, and summoning spirits.

    I spend entire day playing email ping-pong with Twitch customer support about this issue,
    this is the reply that I received:
