Ukrainian users get emails from Twitch in Russian but English profile language was chosen Hey everyone!
I'm located in Ukraine and got registered in Twitch some time ago.
Since Twitch does not have Ukrainian localization yet I had to choose English one instead.Luckily there is a petition to add Ukrainian locale here:
https://twitch.uservoice.com/forums/924619-localization/suggestions/43430019-add-ukrainian-localization-pleaseNevertheless, when I logged in to my Twitch account today, I got an email notification in Russian, so I had to translate it to understand it well.
I don't know why it happened but I would like to receive notifications either based on my location (Ukraine - in Ukrainian) or based on my profile language (English and when Ukrainian will…
162 votesHi all!
Could you please answer a few questions:
1. What was the language you chose when you created your account?
2. Have you changed your preferred language at all since then or recently?
3. Is this the first time you’ve received an email in your non-preferred language, or has it always been sending emails in Russian?
4. To be clear, if you click on your profile picture, and under “Language”, you have “English” chosen, but are receiving Russian emails?Edit:
5. What is the language you have selected on https://help.twitch.tv? -
Block Russia from accessing Twitch due to Fines In very recent news, Twitch has not been complying with the overly strict requirements of censorship required by the site to run in Russia.
Twitch has been fined now multiple times. Twitch within a month.
It is easy for us all to see that you will not bend the knee and start censoring the streamers on your platform. However, it's also easy to see this situation won't end anytime soon.I think it's wrong to blanket ban Russian streamer and delete their content. Obviously. We have to preserve that history for once the war ends.
However, the site being allowed…

Add Option to Reveal Country Origin (opt-in/out) I want to be able to search for streamers based out of their their specific origin country they reside / or at least created their account. This will be an auto-opt out I suggest, and can only be opted in manually if users entered / toggled this on. If possible maybe even allow the user to enter the State/Province and City too.
I am looking to make more friends in specific areas of the world, at least with the ones who want to encourage this type of networking. Hence the manual opt-in.

Language used in e-mail is wrong You give us the option of choosing our language. Why do you use another language (not even English) when sending us an e-mail (billing, payment notice, etc.) ? Please use the language we chose or, if not possible, English).

Separate MENA region restrictions — Morocco should not be blocked by Gulf rules I live in Morocco, but Twitch blocks me from watching certain “mature” or “gambling” streams with a “Due to your region” message. The problem is that Twitch groups my country under the same MENA region as Saudi Arabia, where gambling and mature content are restricted.
Morocco has much more open regulations, and it’s unfair that we’re forced under another country’s censorship rules.
Please consider separating North Africa from GCC/Middle East in Twitch’s region settings, or allow local users to self-verify and access mature content that isn’t illegal here.
Thank you for understanding.

South African Servers Hi!
We still lack an African region server and we have plenty of streamers from here, especially in South Africa. There is an AWS server in Cape Town as far as I know, so it would be really fantastic to be able to stream to high-quality, official, local Twitch servers. Currently we need to use unreliable relays, or strange routing methods to get more than 3000kbps bit rate which means most people here struggle to get up and running easily. Please consider this - show Africa some love! :)
Thank you,
Lolcohol

Fix your localisation Hello,
I am an Italian user, who registered for the first time in Italy. However, I moved to the UK a few years ago and since then I changed every single setting in my Twitch profile (as well as my browser and every other application I use) to English as it has become my primary language.
However, to this date I keep receiving emails from Twitch in Italian, and there are many pages (like the support one) which are still loaded in Italian despite any browser setting. How can I get rid of the Italian language on my account?
Thanks,…

Add cyrillic subset for Roobert font So, the main Twitch design issue is that designers forgot about non-english speaking countries.
Roobert font is awesome, but don't have cyrillic subset.
So we have one font for russian menu items and another for Prime item.
Check it with a russian langauge version of main page.5 votes -

Streams which only reward one timezone. Today there was a stream on https://www.twitch.tv/worldoftanks/ which rewarded twitch watchers with drops. Unfortunately the stream went live between 3am and 6am Eastern Australian Time.
Why not make this steam VOD so everyone in the world including families and kids can watch it at a sensible hour?

Proposal to Restore Core Global Features for Korean Viewers Hi Twitch team,
It has been nearly two years since Twitch discontinued its local operations in South Korea. I understand that this decision was made based on business considerations and respect that choice.
However, I would like to propose a reconsideration of the regional restrictions that were implemented at the time of withdrawal and remain in place today.
Currently, Korean users appear to face the following limitations:
-Video quality capped at 720p, with no access to 1080p viewing
-Inability to create clips
-Restrictions on viewing certain clips
-Inability to purchase Bits
-Inability to subscribe to channelsAs a result, viewers…

Tag Filtering in Search Using the current search tools, I often come across a large number of streams containing tags related to, but not directly matching, the ones I use in my search query. I propose implementing an option that allows users to exclude specific tags or topics from search results.
For example, similar to how Google supports the - operator to exclude terms from search results, Twitch could allow users to enter commands like -tag to ignore all videos with a specific tag.
This feature would provide users with more control over their viewing experience and make it easier to discover content that…

Twitch in Russia Twitch is a large organization that is active in many countries around the world. And there may be problems with the legislation of any country, which happened in mine.
Has Twitch considered opening branches in Russia? (Twitch Russia) This is a great opportunity to comply with the laws of Russia and, it would be a good idea to defend the rights of streamers in Russia. And which can also open up an additional market for advertisers, which will increase the company's profits.3 votes -
Turn all Automated chat messages into the channels main language setting This can be covered under Subscriptions, Chat and Localization topics/categories.
Currenly when someone is gifted a sub & "THINAKS" the person through theS Share message that message is in the language of the poster. Some channels have single language chat rules and by not showing these automated Share message notifications as the native channel language it can easily get the person banned from the channel for not following chat rules even though what they are saying is literally "thank your for the gift sub" or whatever the share message may be like CHOO CHOO for hype trains.
If a channel…

Spelling mistake when exporting (English) When you export a stream VOD to YouTube, it automatically adds the text "Broadcasted live on Twitch -- Watch live at https://www.twitch.tv/username" to the description. "Broadcasted" is not a word; the correct spelling of the past tense is "Broadcast". This is a small error, but it's annoying that I have to fix the spelling every time I export a video.
