#shorts feed cathegory
We have amazing tools to create #shorts and yet twitch has a very poor implementation of #shorts (very poor engagement in native platform). The only way for the shorts to get seen and get traction is to push them on YT or TikTok.
I suggest a menu category for shorts:
Overview>Live>Videos>Categories>Channels> [SHORTS]
This category could be populated with #shots suggestions based on the users likes / watched categories (based on algorithm).
We could push shorts gaining traction: Top #shorts, top #shorts of the day, etc.
Browse or search pages could also benefit from algorithmic shorts suggestions > much like competitor platforms are doing already.
In general I would like to see a more a aggressive push for #shorts type of content on the platform so we can actually start competing with YT and Twitch.
Also the way twitch currently counts views on shorts is counter productive and demoralising. Even if linked / embedded correctly #shorts on discord do not count towards the view count of the short video on the twitch platform.
I also propose that simply loading the #shorts embed on a page (twitch or otherwise) should count towards viewership. YT is already doing this and for good reasons.
The creator will use the platform which gives them the most views, and the user will watch the videos on the platform with mots views (even if the said views are inflated).
To sum this up: We need #shorts systems on twitch which could compete with ease and convenience of platforms like YT and TikTok
