Just discovered there is now a Writing & Reading category folks!
https://www.twitch.tv/directory/category/writing-and-reading

As a reading streamer I would LOVE to have a dedicated category for us readers. Just Chatting has thousands of unrelated channels, ASMR brings in people wanting more goosebumps rather than reading, Reading Fun is a dead game with no category pic (and game!) When viewers are looking for a reading stream it is really hard to find a suitable channel. Gaming streamers often use the tag Reading Aloud when they read onscreen character dialogue out loud, not books.

Reading is a staple of my content, arguably 75% or more of my content as an affiliate. "ASMR" is not accurate, "Just Chatting" isn't a fit either, and "Books" is a game category. Can we get "Reading" or "Just Reading" either would suit better; with a Book as an emblem. We entertain our audiences with stories, not cool sound effects.

There's a growing community of reading streamers and it would be nice if we could find each other more easily! Also people tend to have the wrong expectations when there isn't a clear tag. Even though I very clearly title and tag reading streams I've had people stop in and ask me what I'm doing. I stopped using the ASMR tag because while I think reading aloud has a natural ASMR quality I got tired of people expecting me to play it up by whispering and tapping etc. I'm not knocking that kind of stream but it's not what I do.

We need a Reading category so the community of reading streamers can find each other and our audience without confusing people looking for other content!

Look, there are like fifty reading related categories, and they're all bad. We need a unified category. ASMR and Just Chatting don't cover it, and unless we all unite under Reading Fun (which isn't going to happen), people will continue to struggle to discover Reading content. Fix it. Please.

I'm too high-energy to be "ASMR" and too niche to be "Just Chatting," it's been frustrating me for my entire time as affiliate that I can't get a category specific to reading... and raiding out to someone playing Call of Duty or having some kind of crazy improv session doesn't work when my audience came to hear H.C. Andersen fairy tales. A Reading or Literature category would help tremendously.

There are some very good streams out there that are lost in the "Just Chatting" category that deserve to be recognised.

Reading is very important to inspire creativity, diversity and open mindedness. This category would facilitate human growth, not just entertainment.

"Just Chatting" is not just not specific enough, it's straight-up inaccurate!

My good friend Vexxingcat likes to do reading streams, it would be nice to have a proper category to find more streams like hers.

I've been doing reading streams semi-regularly for the last couple of years, and I've met many other reading streamers. I'll try to get them in here to vote for this, as well

I think this category would have a lot of viewers. After all, most people love to read. It would be cool to make a platform where they help you with your homework online. Lately I have been constantly asking do my homework for me, I use https://ca.edubirdie.com/do-my-homework-for-me for this. I think this category would also have a demand. Twitch is now very scalable.

It would be great, I don’t understand why this hasn’t happened yet?

What else is missing?
