[Beta] Moments
Moments is a new way to celebrate channel lore and reward viewers for being part of the hype, live. With the click of a button, you can now turn major moments on stream into a commemorative chat badge that viewers will receive if they were watching live. The more moments a viewer takes part in, the higher badge tiers they unlock. Plus, newcomers can get to know your stream by clicking into these badges and viewing the defining moments of your community.
We look forward to hearing your feedback and if you have any questions please refer to our help article (https://help.twitch.tv/s/article/moments) Please note that this is a beta and is only available to a select amount of creators currently.

Note: If you are experiencing issues claiming Moments please leave us a comment on this post with the channel the error has occurred in. Thanks!

Moment Badge claim button never popped up for me, despite being on stream for a couple hours. Was also actively chatting at the time.
The channel this occurred on was PointCrow https://www.twitch.tv/pointcrow

Multiple viewers have told me on different occasions that they aren't able to claim moments on mobile. Would really like this to be fixed ASAP.
I know it's based on the clip system, but it would be great to make moments:
- longer clip overall, more like a highlight, up to 5 mins, but even 2 or 3 mins would be better.
- a longer "window" of video available for the clip
- longer time to edit them in (48 hours instead of 24 hours). -

Could not receive moment from 10 minutes ago on twitch.tv/xqcow despite chatting, watching and attempting to claim. Hope this can be fixed so I receive what I deserve.

It's way too hard to get to a stream's moments.
Please make a simple button for it next to channel points. -

You need to add a feature where you can remove a "moment", even if it's timed, like it can only be removed within 3 days of creation and have it refund its monthly token. Had 2 separate instances now where moment clips got insta DMCA'd, but the moment is still under the badge with a non-existent blank clip. Was not even able to edit the clip title so it is just the stream title with an unviewable clip. This also still burned 1 of the 5 monthly moments and has happened twice already, as I said. Even if the clip gets nuked you should still make it possible to edit individual moment titles, or have it use a still image/thumbnail of the VOD or something along those lines.
Also, I created a moment in a channel and did not even get the notification in chat to claim it, as well as numerous other users reporting the same. I also believe the window to claim the moment should be longer.

I've missed the 2nd ever moment from one of my favorite streamers due to this bug. So annoying...

Love this idea so much, but I have had issues with the moment claim not popping up for me while it works for others in chat. I've been able to claim 2 so far, but also missed 2 due to the pop-up not showing up for me in FireDragon stream.

Such a fun feature when it works properly! Ran into some bugginess using it on Feb 28 on my channel.
When I created my third Moment of the month (at which point 2 should've remained), twitch displayed a message saying I had 4 left to make before March 1. Not a big deal on its own, but that discrepancy is likely tied to the other issues that arose.Several times when I tried to create Moments that night I got red text that said something like "Error: Moment could not be clipped right now." Viewers said nothing showed up on their screens, so I figured nothing went through on the back end. However, it turns out the times I got the error did create clips. After stream--which ended in the wee hours of March 1--I found 4 extra clips made by my account.
The Moments page displayed "You have 2 Moments to capture this month. Moments refresh on April 1" even though 0 March Moments existed; the Moments page just showed 5 February Moments. It seems like somehow those failed "moments" were able to eat into my allotted number for March, even though they were clipped *in February* and not presented to viewers as claimable Moments. Two of those clips happened between my 4th and 5th Feb Moments, so it's particularly strange.
I was hoping with time this might get ironed out, but I've made 1 actual March Moment since then, and am now left with supposedly 1 Moment left before April, when there should be 4 remaining. I haven't deleted the extra clips from that glitchy February night in case they could be helpful to sorting this out. Thanks for all that you do & including me in this beta test!

We were testing on stream today and I think it's a great idea and chat was very participative, however I think that It would be nice to get a moment back if I decide to get rid of one that was made by mistake, specially since mods can claim it.
If it's supposed to work this way It didn't for me.
Having more moments per month would be advisable as well, or make it so they refresh every week so you don't go overboard with the claims.
Other than that we liked them :) -

My main issue is not being able to edit Moments after a certain amount of time has passed. A 24-48 hour grace period to edit Moments would be FANTASTIC, so that the timing of the clip can be perfect without allowing the clip to be constantly messed with months down the line.

I had the pop-up for claiming a moment on xQcOW's stream today, but when I clicked the claim button it said, "Sorry, could not claim this badge right now." And now I don't have the badge. Was this a bug or did I do something wrong?

Really like the idea but it currently has some bugs.
Bug 1: Some mods have issues using the feature
When setting up my stream (truthh55), I checked with my mods and one was able to see and use the feature, while the other was not. They shared a discord call to see if he was just missing something, but the feature was not enabled for him to do anything. After logging off and logging back in he was able to see the feature in mod mode but still had issues creating moments and was never able to use /moments.Bug 2: Not being able to edit Moments
After the stream was over, I went to the Moments tab and selected Edit on the moment created. When I did, all I was able to do was rewatch the clip and link it to my social, similar to a created clip. I was unable to edit it that night and check back again the following morning to see if I could edit it then to no avail. -

I just want to say I love the new feature, am proud to beta test it and am hoping any feedback I can offer might help.
1. Dynamic Limits: I like the idea of keeping a low-ish number to the amount of moments per month. It will help keep the frequency to popularity ratio at at a level that is balanced, I feel, but it would be hard to keep that balanced with a static number. For example a daily streamer could use 10 and still keep a nice balance while a twice weekly streamer could do it twice every stream.
The more you stream, the more moments you can earn, (this could be based of previous months # of streams)2. Badge claiming could be easier, and showing the badge immediately would help. If a viewer already has 3, auto replace the most common ones (say Prime badge) with the newly claimed Moment Badge and let go in and revert it back if they don't like, rather than the other way around and hide it until they change.
3. Longer moments.... 3 or 5 minute max? I dont think this will be very popular but will be very handy when it is needed.
4. Socials tie in so streamers can opt to have moments post to social medias right away

It's okay, but I think there should be a higher number of moments available to give.

Created a moment as a mod on behalf of a broadcaster who was streaming from mobile and unable to do it. The moment was therefore late and missed the main moment. The broadcaster is unable to edit the moment (within the 24h window - which is described in the help article), and I as the mod can't do anything with it as it just appears to me as a clip I've created, so I can only amend the title

Please, Make Typing in Chat be a Second Option to Claim "Moments"
I was watching one of my favorite streamers today where 2 seperate Moments occurred. However, I (and other viewers) did not always get the pop-ups to claim each Moment. These were the very first 2 Moments ever for the stream.
The 1st Moment that happened I, and many other viewers, really had no idea what to expect. I never got a pop-up to claim it but almost everyone else did. People were typing in chat to "claim the Moment quick" and i'm like typing back "how, i don't see anything. i don't understand. what are you guys talking about?"... I was probably watching the stream for a good 5 hours without refreshing at this point. Needless to say, I did NOT get the Moment or the Badge for this.
When the 2nd Moment happened later on, I had refreshed the page literally like 2 minutes before it happened. This time I DID get the pop-up and I was successfully able to claim it... BUT there were other viewers confused and asking how to claim it, literally while the Moment claim timer was still counting down. They never got the claim pop-up and missed the Moment, even though they were typing in chat.
If this is going to be a feature, Twitch should just make it so if a viewer typed in chat 3 minutes before the Moment happened or 3 minutes after the Moment happen, then they should just get the Moment claimed automatically, and if they haven't typed in chat they can either click the button or type in chat during the timer to claim it. This would make it work much better!
Anyway, now I have to live with the fact that I didn't get the very first Moment of one of my favorite streamers, due to what seems to be a buggy implementation of the claim system. Please, I beg of Twitch to change this and make typing in chat, 3 minutes before or 3 minutes after, also be a method of claiming Moments.
Thank you.
