[Test] Hype Train Approaching
We’ve heard feedback from the community that it can be difficult to understand when and why a Hype Train appears in a channel. To improve this experience, we are experimenting with a new feature that lets communities know when a Hype Train is near, and communicates how many support events, including subs, sub gifts or Bits usage, from unique users are required to kick it off. The “Hype Train is Near” notification appears in chat when the community is within one to three actions of kicking off a Hype Train, depending on the kickoff threshold set by the streamer. The notification also includes a timer that counts down the time remaining to kick off a Hype Train with that number of actions. If those actions are fulfilled, the notification transitions directly to the Hype Train experience. If not, the notification disappears until the next time a Hype train is near.
Have thoughts / questions? We’d love to hear your thoughts and suggestions here. Thank you for your ongoing support and feedback!

From what I've seen from some streamers they would like the option to be togglable to show up or not, as some feel that some users may get pressurised to contribute to start the train, when they are happy to just have it happen if it happens.

How long will this be in testing for? I'd love to have this on my channel.

I was using the 'GET HypeTrain Event' API endpoint to find this for the streamers I watch, and now it seems that the API endpoint is now blocked unless you have permission from the Streamer. For me, it was helpful because I knew when to throw bits and subs that would result in a Hype Train. I was also trying to capture the final level and percentage to build a hype train top 10/leaderboard for the stream.

I LOVE LOVE LOVED THIS FEATURE! I am so sad that it's now gone, It drastically changed the numbers of hype trains that I received, I would almost every night get a solid 2 hype train, peoples are often unaware on how to start the hype train and how long they "have" to start it, PLEASE implement this feature in the future, even if its in a toggle on/off way, please do not listen to the negative comments down below, I feel like most of them aren't even from streamers or from a level which they've never had hype train so they weren't able to test it out properly in the first place, please PLEASE add it back, it was truly lovely and I thought it was permanent <3 my heart sank when I didn't see it anymore!

I really liked this feature but have not seen it in a few weeks. I also do NOT like the new hype emotes of animals. As someone listening to music I would prefer dance or instrument emotes.

Hype Train is cool and all but why does it have to take up the majority of the screen on mobile. I love watching the stream and having chat opened at the same time. Twitch users should have the ability to disable it, close it, or simply not have it take up the entire screen.

I think those that will kick off a hype train are generally aware that one is due in a stream. Knowing when the last one was would be a bit more useful

Hi Dowski!
I think it's a wonderful and welcome addition! We have really turned Hype Trains into a party event on my channel, but keeping track of how close we are to a HT has always been difficult (I have an amazing moderator that currently keeps track of it in chat!)
Question, will the communication be configurable from our Dashboard? For example, you allow us to set between 3 and 25 discrete events to kick off a Hype Train...will we be able to set how many events remain before this notification is displayed? Or will there be some other logic behind that?

there needs to be an opt out option for viewers. on mobile this is resizing the chat and makes the stream unwatchable. same thing for viewer polls. they're fun tools but every minute the actual stream window gets severely reduced in size and I don't even have a choice in the matter?

It'll be nice if we could see when we have ads running when we read our chat in obs considering most steamers don't have an additional browser Source open to look at the dashboard.

Create a history of reports and violations in the dashboard! I think this is a good idea!

It would be a good Idea I mod for 2 different channels 1 very small one medium... and I have never seen a hype train although I do hype train emotes, so at some point a chat I was in ... had one successfully happen... at some point I suppose.

This effectively just starts the hype train at a lower threshold than the streamer has set. Saying "Hype train is near" is exactly the same as "hype train has started" in terms of trying to hype people up?
I think this has all kinds of bad grifting vibes.
